Daily Draw and Card of the Week for 22 May 2011

Hi All,

Today's card is appropriately the 10 of Wands
<http://www.anar-mura.com/tgimg/gt/wands_x.jpg> from the Gilded Tarot,
which came up in a 3 card Draw I pulled for myself today;

10 of Wands, 2 of Swords, 4 of Cups
<http://www.anar-mura.com/Readings/2011/3Card_22May2011.jpg> .

Not the pretties pull of cards you'll ever see, but today I wanted to
focus on the 10 of Wands for the purposes of this essay. Now it is
simply true that for the last two months my wife has been wrestling with
her long standing substance abuse issues and has been making a
tremendous effort to break her old habits; which has not alway been easy
as her Anti-Anxioty medicine tends to leave her rather stoned, leaving
all our chores in my hands for the most part.

It is also true that sometime about 7-10 days ago she fell back into old
habits, but I only found that out for sure Friday; ...

So 10 of Wands ...
We see the Main Charactor struggling under a heavy load, each step in an
effort, but also a small victory as he pushes his way forward despite
the weight of the load he carries.

but I want you to turn your attenion for a moment to the card itself
<http://www.anar-mura.com/tgimg/gt/wands_x.jpg> notice the Stags framed
by the legs of the Main Charactor, as well as the lush green grass
beneath his feet; these are very important elements, as this card is at
the end of the day a very auspicious card; it speaks to that last great
effort before life, or a situation in life, begins to turn in our favor.
Unlike say the 5 of pents <http://www.anar-mura.com/tgimg/rw/5pen.jpg> ,
which speaks of desolation and emptiness of the worst sort, this card is
filled with symbols of fertility, and thus life and hope.

I like to mentally substitute out the wands of this card with Sheafs of
Wheat, the farmer has worked his field for they year, faithfully
peformed his labors, and harvested his crop; and a great many pagan
holidays speak to this cycle of reaping and sowing; but today, and for
much of the worlds history one last task remains him; getting his crop
to market, and like the cattle drives of the old west that task, might
prove the greatest test of all.

So while the last few weeks, and especially the last week have been
quite challanging, I view this card as rather auspisious, and hope I can
find the hidden blessing in the 4 of cups and hopefully see this effort
through to a successful end.

All that said,
I do owe my apologies to a few members for promised readings that have
not been done because of the unexpected ramping up of my resonsibilities
at home, as well as some rather unexpectedly full days at work, left me
no option but to push some commitments aside for now; but I will see to
them as soon as possible.

Blessings, BB.

HELLO EVERYONE --

I hope nobody minds that i am cross-posting this from another group and
another author -- I think it's very important.

* * * *

Dear Pagan Sisters and Brothers,

For over 30 years the Annwfn grounds have served the Pagan Community as
a retreat center, festival site and wilderness sanctuary. Annwfn,
meaning "otherworld" in Welsh mythology, is one of the United States
oldest pagan land available for public use.

This sacred land needs to raise $2,300 to cover assessments & taxes by
June 1st. Any contribution at all would be deeply appreciated and of
course it is tax-deductible.(No donation is too small). Make checks
payable to: CAW- Annwfn: PO Box 758, Cotati, CA 94931

55 acres of wild mountain land in Mendonesia, Northern California, is
the heart and Sanctuary of the Church of All Worlds.
Forests of Madrone, Oak and Fir, with a small pond, seasonal streams,
meadows, and inspiring views, provide the setting for four ritual
circles, ritual paths, a Goddess-dedicated organic garden, and the
famous Mushroom Temple personally handcrafted by the late Mage and Bard,
Gwydion Penderwyn, and his friends.
Annwfn is designed for and is intended to be utilized as Sacred Space.
To this end the sanctuary is available for functions that correspond
with the Wheel of the Year, and with love and respect for our Mother
Earth.

All are welcome to utilize the sanctuary for personal retreats and
camping. If you wish to reserve the sanctuary exclusively, prior notice
(subject to availability) and a commitment will be required. Please
contact the Caretakers to request and schedule exclusive use of the
Sanctuary.

We encourage meditation and interweaving of spirit through wild-magic
communion with the sacred trees and beasts. The Trees of Annwfn are
accustomed to being talked with, and enjoy meeting new people. Pay
attention to the spirits and guardians around you: but rather than
binding them with your expectations, honor the Unexpected.

Our magickal work recreates the connections between this world and the
realms of Faerie. When the doors between the worlds open in this
sanctuary, the magic spirals forth to heal the Earth and empowers us
all.

All Solar, Lunar and Cross-quarter observances are celebrated at Annwfn.
With over 55 acres of wild mountain land in Mendocino, Northern
California. It is the heart and Sanctuary of the Church of All Worlds
and is welcoming of all pagan sects, circles and faiths.

There are many campsites, a Temple, a Lodge and many Circles, altars and
shrines; all of which is available to rent for your gatherings. So
please consider coming up to Annwfn for one of its Sabbat Festivals or
bring your Circle to celebrate a Full Moon or special Camp Out.
Remember, people come and go but the Land remains. If we support its
needs; it will support ours.
May we give the blessings of prosperity we wish to receive,

Lilith
