Feeling Disconnected?

Feeling Disconnected?

We often go through periods in our life where we feel completely
disconnected to everything... even to ourselves.

The question is .... how to reconnect?

Life gets busy and we find ourselves buzzing here ... buzzing there ..
nonstop.. we are doing doing and doing all day long ... we get
overloaded with so much ... we then start cutting strings without
knowing that's what's going on... it's needed so that we don't blow a
fuse or two... life begins to slow down a little and suddenly we
realize this ... we get that disconnected feeling but have no idea why
it is now that we feel so disconnected. .

Not so simple.. depending where you are on your path and what's going on
in your life .. you might find that though you try many different
things.. you just can't seem to connect.

Sometimes it's a matter of life telling us we need a break. We need some
time to rest and recharge... take some time to do just that ... get
outside and take a walk... read that book you've been meaning to read...
take long hot baths... whatever it is .. take some time to yourself ...
get that much needed rest and don't worry so much about that
connection.. it will soon be back and life will be back in that groove
you are use to.

Take that time for yourself and oh yeah .. DON'T LET YOURSELF FEEL
GUILTY for taking that much needed break!

Many Blessings,

With the onset of warmer days we have started drumming in our original location
day and time in Verona Park (SUndays at 2pm). We will also continue the Circles
at Pianos Bar every Tuesday night(at 7pm). In summer months, Pianos has an
outdoor area with clear string lights on the trees which also creates a nice
atmosphere. Sundays in the Park will be every other week to start. So the next
one will be on June 5th(which works out well since next week is the long
memorial day weekend and many have plans) which I will post.
It was suggested to rotate parks on Sundays which is a good idea. Whippany Park
was suggested or Jockey Hollow in Morristown.

Join us this Tuesday night for an enchanted night of Drumming, Dancing and
Chanting. Please bring other instruments as well since we usually jam with multi
instruments, Bring Djembes,Congas,Bongos,Cow Bells, shakers, tambourines,
guitars, flutes and yourselves and friends to be a part of our eclectic group of
wonderful souls!
Chairs are provided and we ask that each of you return chairs to there original
configuration and bring your drink glasses and or plates up front since we have
the space for free its the least we can do. There's a nice bar/restaurant where
you can purchase drinks and food.

We light candles to create a relaxing yet spiritual circle.

Please join us....

Goddess  of The Day:  Cordelia

Posted by: "Cher Chirichello" CHIC0411@YAHOO.COM   chic0411

Mon May 23, 2011 7:48 pm (PDT)

Goddess of The Day: Cordelia
Well Dressings (Europe)

Themes: Blessings; Prayer; Beauty; Fairy; Wishes
Symbols: Flowers; Water

About Cordelia: A British nature Goddess, Cordelia is part of every spring and
summer flower that blossoms. This is the beauty she brings into our lives
today, along with all the positive energies of spring. Traditionally, Cordelia
does not appear until May, when the earth is fertile enough to sustain her
glory. Art sometimes depicts her as being a citizen of fairy realms, and
perhaps a flower princess.

To Do Today: Well-dressing festivals go back to animistic times, when people
believed sacred wells held beneficent indwelling spirits. To appease these
powers, people decked the well with Cordelia's symbols: garlands of spring
flowers. They then asked for the gods' goddess', or spirits' favor. So, if you
have any type of fountain or well nearby, today is a day for wishing! Take a
small offering (coins if a fountain; a flower if a natural water source) and
toss it in while whispering your desire to Cordelia.

To draw the attention of Cordelia and her companions, the fey, into your life,
take a dollhouse chair and glue any or all of the following items to it: thyme,
straw, primrose, oak leaves, ash leaves, and hawthorn berries or leaves. Leave
this on a sunny windowsill (preferably one with a plant on it) to encourage
fairy guests, who will bring all manner of spring frolic into your home.

Healing the Earth Ritual .

Posted by: "Cher Chirichello" CHIC0411@YAHOO.COM   chic0411

Mon May 23, 2011 7:55 pm (PDT)

Healing the Earth Ritual
.
For this healing ritual, gather the following to represent the four elements:
a container of water, a leaf from a tree, a candle or some incense, and a
feather. Find a blue marble, or any other object to symbolize the Earth, and
bless it with the four elements. Start by brushing the Earth with the feather,
to represent air, then pass the object quickly through a candle flame or
incense smoke to represent fire.

.
Next, wrap the Earth in the leaf to represent the element of earth, and
finally place the object in the container of water. During this process, focus
on letting your energy work to decrease any harm that we do to the Earth. Focus
your intentions to drawing humanity’s awareness toward hopes and toward efforts
to preserve our collective home. Remove the Earth from the leaf, and place it
in a location of honor in your homeâ€"either on your altar or another place where
it can inspire everyone to care for our precious Earth. ~ Ember

Indian Poet Ramprasad

It is not ordinary wine I drink, but a special kind
it is the name of the Goddess, Mother Kali.
When I repeat it, over and over and over,
I become so intoxicated people imagine I am drunk!
My teacher's words are the molasses for this brew
and my own longing causes fermentation.
Knowledge pours the wine for me and from the bottle
formed of the sacred words of Goddess prayers.
I drink it invoking her, Now you drink, too,
and all of life's most precious fruits are your yours.
~Indian Poet Ramprasad

Those who have encountered death, who have lived for a time in the embrace of
Mother Kali, can be the most eager for life. Sages who meditate upon this dark
Goddess report a similar ecstasy that comes from truly encountering the mystery
toward which we are all moving.

To live with awareness of death is to live in an altered state of consciousness,
for our usual mental sate is one of denial. We think that by deadening
awareness of life's fragility and brevity, we may life more fully. But quite the
opposite is true. The effort to remain conscious saps us. When we release this
rigid denial, we are so flooded with energy that life takes on new meaning. As
the Hindu saints tell us, meditation on Kali, upon approaching death, is a
certain way to a passionate life.

Fw: * Spiritually  Speaking * The Power of Limitations

The Power of Limitations
by Ann Albers, channeling the angels

printed with permission

My dear friends, we love you so very much.

Today we wish to speak to you on the subject of limitations. Your soul, dear ones, is an unlimited being. It lives in the realms of the eternal and pours a tiny piece of itself into this reality you call space and time upon the earth. It lives in this vehicle you call your body and dances in the collective creation of so many other souls with whom you journey and learn.

There are times when you - your soul - decides to experience limitations in your physical reality in order to force growth, much as the pressure put upon a butterfly as it emerges from the cocoon strengthens its wings, and the shell of a seed provides the pressure upon which the plant presses to burst forth into the light.

There are times when you will experience limitations in different areas of your life - financial limitation, dietary limitation, limited mobility or transportation, limited time, limited energy, etc. We hear your prayers and we know that many of you perceive these limitations in a negative way, yet we also know that these are the times you are creating amazing grace and incredible growth.

When you are limited in your outer world, you begin to find what is unlimited in your inner world.

For example, when you experience financial limitation, you begin to re-evaluate your priorities. You discern more easily what is of true value in your life. You begin to set your sights upon enjoying what is eternal - family, friends, the sunrise, and the sky. You begin valuing your relationships more than your stuff. You develop greater faith because you must. You cultivate greater appreciation for what you already have because it is not so easily replaceable. You learn to manage your money according to deeper priorities. And so, when the limitations are lifted, you have developed new habits of viewing money as a tool for your true happiness rather than a substitute for the very same.

Suppose you experience limited mobility in the form of a car that is not working well. Now you must become resourceful, combine errands, ask for help, find joyful things to do closer to home, or perhaps choose to bike or walk and therefore strengthen your physical body and assist the environment as well. In a sense, being slightly grounded helps you find the joy that is all around you now, so when you do have greater ability to travel, you will not forget the pleasures to be found at home.

Suppose you have dietary limitations. You want to lose weight or become healthy. Instead of viewing these as restrictions, consider the fact that you are now going to have to get very creative to satisfy your taste buds. You can explore new flavors and menu options you never thought possible. You can enjoy new ethnic foods - for a great portion of the world already eats as you wish you could, and enjoys flavorful meals you can only imagine. And in this exploration, you open yourself up the world around you, explore new cultures, cultivate a desire for travel and variety in your life. Meanwhile, you lose your weight or achieve your goals in health. And so what was once limitation opens up the world for you.

Dear ones, when you feel limited in your outer world, dig deep in your inner world. Get creative. Cultivate possiblity by using your creativity. Embrace deeper faith. Evaluate priorities. And in these times of so-called limitation, you will find a wealth of joy, a renewed sense of flavor in life, more energy, faith, connection, and the rest of the qualities that make your life worth living.

Limitation is only the shell from which the chick hatches, the seed from which the flower bursts forth, and the forces which make you feel confined until you too find the strength, beauty, and God-spark within as you too burst into the light of full blossoming.

God bless you! We love you so very much.

- the Angels

Fw: * Spiritually  Speaking * And Then What?

Posted by: "Grandfather Oak" robert_patti@windstream.net   grandfatheroak_wizard

Mon May 23, 2011 10:01 pm (PDT)

From: Lisa Day
Subject: * Spiritually Speaking * And Then What?

And Then What?
by Barbara Abercrombie

excerpted with permission from Courage & Craft: Writing Your Life Into Story

A writer friend called me once, suddenly worried about what would happen to her journals when she died. She was in her thirties at the time and healthy, so this wasn't an immediate problem. But she wrote in her journal only when she was really, really mad at her kids (teenagers), and she didn't want them to feel that they had been unloved if they read her journals after she was gone.

She got me worrying too. The happier I am, and the more I'm working on writing projects, the less I write in my journal. When I do write, it's just a lot of did-that-went-there, including weather data. But when I'm not writing, or I'm going through a bad time in my personal life, my journal turns into my therapist. There's much more energy in my journal writing then - things get really personal and detailed, and much more interesting. There's also a lot of whining.

So like my friend, I thought about the future of my journals. My first attempt at keeping a record of my life began at age thirteen with a pink leatherette diary that had a little silver key that didn't work. I only wrote about teenage boys in it - what they looked like, what they said, what they did - with each comment or observation followed by rows of exclamation points. It was a five-year diary - a tiny space for each day, but relentless in its march through days and months and years. (Beware of journals or diaries with dated spaces - the space will be either too large or small, and you'll feel guilty when you skip a day.)

A whole cabinet in my office is now filled with spiral notebooks, all the journals I have written since my first writing class. I have this vision of being very old, sitting by the fire, curling up with my cats, and rewriting hundreds of these notebooks. What a graceful, sane, productive life she led, my grandchildren and great-grandchildren will say when they read them. What an organized, calm, and nonjudgmental person she was. They will say this because I'll leave out all my neurotic moments and bad behavior.

Then I wonder: Should I leave one rewritten version, neatly typed out, plus the stack of notebooks? Or maybe I should forget about rewriting, just burn the journals and depart this earth in dignified silence.

But then I think, Oh, if only I had my great-grandmother's day-by-day account of her life - her did-that-went-there, along with all the moments of high drama and bad behavior in her life - what a treasure that would be.

The fact is, one reason you write is to have ultimate control over your own reality, so someday I intend to rewrite every word, if not to whitewash my life, then to at least leave a well-written version of it.

Remember, you keep the journal, not the other way around. Consider what you'll do with yours. Burning or tearing it up is always an option, but don't be too hasty. When I reread my pink leatherette diary as an adult, I was so disgusted to realize that as a teenager, I apparently had the brain of a tadpole and was simply obsessed with boys that I threw the diary out. I regret it now, but on the other hand, I wanted to leave that ditzy teenager in the past. So you might say it was a cathartic move. But before you burn or tear up your journal, think about what it would be like to read the journal of one of your great-grandparents.
