If you could send some positive energies to a friend, I'd really appreciate
It. She had to have her cat put to sleep earlier today because of a clot
That affected her back legs.

Her name is Mary and her cat was Hanta.

Thank you for anything you can do.

Reiki - November - Reiki and Self-Actualization

Reiki and Self-Actualization
Most people are familiar with the term self-actualization in a psychological context. Maslow's Hierarchy of Needs, for example, culminates in self-actualization after all other needs are met. Other psychologists have followed in Maslow's footsteps by studying the phenomena that occurs when a person's basic, physical, and mental needs are met and they are able to focus their attention and energy to exploring and engaging their full range of talents, capacities, potentialities – to become fully themselves, in as comprehensive a way as possible.

What are the qualities of a person who is self-actualized? Creativity, a sense of kinship and understanding with others, self-appreciation and acceptance, spontaneity, "peak" experiences, grounded in reality, focus on problems (not the self), etc. People who are independent, yet form deep and fulfilling friendships, those who are not merely coping with the world, but actively engaged in it – these people are past the developmental stages in which they are looking to have their basic, security, social, and emotional needs met. So, how does this apply to reiki?
Reiki has many applications when it comes to health and well-being, and the healing energy of reiki can be used to help an individual move into the patterns necessary to have their needs met, which will allow them to space and freedom to self-actualize. When we are not worrying about lower-level issues, we can discover our desire to know more about the world. When our health and well-being are excellent, we feel strong, secure and comfortable in exploring and actualizing more of who we are.
Tips for Living a Healthy Life
We all know that the prescription for a happy, healthy life is to lead a lifestyle that caters to our interests and desires, ensures a strong, healthy body and is both challenging and fulfilling. At the same time we know that there is also a strong pressure to conform to what is expected of us, to meet the demands of society, and conflict can arise if a balance is not struck. The following tips may seem simple, perhaps even overly so, and yet the result of having these elements in your life can have a very far-reaching effect.

Spend time in nature. Visit a nearby park, work in your garden, take a hike, enjoy a picnic in the park, etc.

Use your body. Physical activity is essential for good health.

Get creative. Creativity helps to satisfy the soul and keeps you sharp.

Sleep. Without enough sleep the body and brain cannot function. This simple act of restoration is essential for well-being. Forgoing sleep, especially on a frequent or ongoing basis is one of the fastest ways to reduce one's quality of life.

Create and enjoy community. Family, friends, and the extended social groups you belong to should be a part of your life in way that nourishes and satisfies you.

Devote time to relaxation. This is especially valuable if you are also handling a heavy stress load. While leisure activities seem the most reasonable to cut out, they are actually even more essential for well-being during times of stress.
Living in the Mystery: Focus
Mystery is an essential part of many philosophies, religions, spiritual understandings, and many people's personal experience of the world.  Not knowing exactly how it all works is part of life, after all. The more scientists learn about how it all works, the more they discover is yet to be discovered. If you allow yourself to become overwhelmed with how much is unknown, however, you are missing the point. In order to live and thrive, focus is the key. Whatever we focus on will be our reality. If we focus on creating good health, doing good work, and nourishing our relationships, then that will be our experience. If, on the other hand, you focus on that which is upsetting or undesirable, in your own life or out in the world, then you actually give energy to that problem and contribute to its continued existence.
In creating your focus, ask yourself this: what are your priorities in life?  What do you desire to experience? How can you spend your time and energy focusing in those areas? The wonderful thing about the unknown is this: if you do not presume to know, then you are allowing for the myriad of possibilities that exist. Mentally, you make room for these possibilities, and this in turn helps you to see your ideal version as a possibility. When you believe it to be possible, you can work towards manifesting it. Reiki for Immune Function
Our immune system's function is essential for our well-being. This is the system that recognizes antigens, fights off infections, helps our body to heal, and ensures our continued survival. In order to thrive, we need our immune system to be strong and well-functioning. Reiki works both directly and indirectly on the immune system.
Reiki energy can be directed specifically to the immune system to bolster its function. However, the use of reiki for a number of other applications is also very helpful in boosting immune function. Reiki that promotes better sleep will also help the immune system, as well reiki that promotes a great sense of well-being and/or relaxation. The overall healing effects of reiki on the body extend to all systems of the body, due to the innate interconnectedness of those systems.
Healing Tools: Walking the Labrynth
A labyrinth is a tool that can be used to help center and ground oneself. It is a time of prayerful contemplation or meditation. A labyrinth, unlike a maze, has only one path through – there is one way in and one way out. In walking a labyrinth, there is no question about the path and there are no wrong turns to take.
There are deep metaphors for life in walking a labyrinth. Walking with a group of people can demonstrate how, even when in community, each of us is walking our own path and must follow the turns encountered as they come. Walking the labyrinth can also be an exercise of trust, of allowing for the unfolding of the path, even when it is not clear how it will lead you out to the other side. The experience of the labyrinth is one that is accessible to people of all cultures, faiths, and religions.

Goddess is a Democrat !! Imagine the feedback from that statement in my
interviews with Riane Eisler and Starhawk on my radio show, Voices of
the Sacred Feminine. But what were we really saying in that statement
that might not have been immediately evident? We were saying the
strategy to move us toward that paradigm shift, into a post-kyriarchal
world, would not just be the use of secular law, but through a change in
thealogy - the mythology of the Sacred Feminine, deity, archetype and
ideal, might re-establish the foundations on our planet necessary for
sustainable future for all life and Mother Earth. Hear the line of
thought....presented at the WECSOR/American Academy of Religion by Dr.

You're in the Spotlight Spell

You're in the Spotlight Spell
.
Have you ever been in a situation where you are expected to dazzle those
around you? But instead of dazzling, you became a tongue-tied, quivering mess? This spell will uncover your confidence and allow your true inner brilliance to shine. Light a white candle. Focus your intent on the
candle, and on the attributes that you want to project. Know that you
already possess these attributes. Draw the vibration of the Earth up
through you. With each breath, feel the nourishing confidence of the
Earth blend with you. Feel your desired attributes flowing as a
brilliant ray of light that originates within you. Focus on your intent, and say: "I am grounded and confident as Mother Earth. I shine with the brilliance of the Lady of the Sky." Allow any excess energy to recycle
back to the Earth, and enjoy your time in the spotlight.

Canticles and Ecclesiastes

Posted by: "Cher Chirichello" CHIC0411@YAHOO.COM   chic0411

Come from Lebanon, my sister, my bride,
come from Lebanon, come!
You have ravished my heart, my sister, my bride,
you have ravished my heart.
Open up your petals, like roses planted near
running waters; send up a sweet scent like Lebanon.
Break forth in blossoms like the lily, yield fragrance,
bring forth leaves in grace, and praise with canticles.
~Canticles and Ecclesiastes

The Hebrew texts
called the Song of Songs are addressed to an unknown woman sometimes
called the Shulamite, a woman who is "dark and comely" and who embodies
feminine power and beauty. The songs addressed to her are filled with
images of fruit and flowers and vegetation - symbols often associated
with the goddess as our earth mother.

Summer is a time when
the power of the ripening earth readily draws our awareness to the
Goddess. Yet the inner truth of goddess religion is that of the planet's cycles. What is now growing will someday die; what is now warm will
someday be cold; what is now light will someday be dark. Loving the
world, our Mother Earth, means embracing all of these apparent
opposites. Winter is far away from us today, but the glorious summer
moves inexorably toward it - and its briefness is part of its beauty..

"Who Were The Witches"

Posted by: "Cher Chirichello" CHIC0411@YAHOO.COM   chic0411

Tue Jul 5, 2011 8:25 pm (PDT)

"Who Were The Witches"

Chorus:

Who were the Witches, where did they come from?
Maybe your great, great, grandmother was one.
They were the wise, wise, women they say,
And there's a little Witch in every person today.

Witches knew all of the flowers and weeds,
How to use all the roots and the stems and the seeds.
When people were weary from hard working days,
They made them feel better in so many ways.

Chorus:

When women had babies, the Witches were there,
To heal and to hold and to give them good care.
They honor the cauldron where all life began,
Do you want to be one?  Well, maybe you can!

Chorus

Some people say that the Witches are bad.
Some people fear all of the power they had.
But the power to heal and to help and to cure,
Is nothing to fear, it is something to share.

Chorus.

Today's Goddess:  White Painted Woman Apache Puberty Rites (Southwes

Posted by: "Cher Chirichello" CHIC0411@YAHOO.COM   chic0411

Tue Jul 5, 2011 8:29 pm (PDT)

Today's Goddess:  White Painted Woman
Apache Puberty Rites (Southwestern US)

Themes:  Maturity; Cycles; Femininity; Tradition
Symbols:  White-colored Items

About White Painted Woman:  White Painted Woman taught her people sacred rituals, and she can change her appearance at will to that of a young girl or an old woman, representing the full cycle of life and all that awaits us in between.  When White Painted Woman was a girl, she went away to the mountains, where the sun taught her how to conduct puberty rites, which is her function in today's ceremony.

To Do Today: About this time of year, Apache girls participate in a special coming-of-age ritual that takes place over four nights.  Part of the ritual commemorates White Painted Woman's adventure in the mountains, and in another part the young women take on her role so they can prepare for adulthood.  In modern times, rites of passage have been somewhat overlooked, but today is definitely a time to consider reinstating them to honor White Painted Woman and draw her blessings into someone's life.  If you know a child who has reached an important juncture (going to school, getting their driver's license, graduating) find a way to commemorate that step in their personal growth.  For school, bless a special lunch box or book bag with rosemary oil for mental keenness.  For a license, make them a protective automobile amulet (perhaps something to hang off the rear view mirror).  Whatever you do, fill this person's life with magic!
