That's what it's there for :D At some point, I ought to post the photos of
my study/temple/office and my library. It's really quite spectacular but
I've been at this for almost twenty-five years now, about fifteen of those
as a Georgian priestess. My goal right now is to re-read everything I've
got, alphabetically, and review it so that I can catalog it and put it on my
web site.

I'd been thinking for a while of running a reading group for pagans on a
separate list but...I rather think most wouldn't want to put forth the
effort. As you can see, I don't read small stuff (although I still have my
very first copies of everything Cunningham and Silver Ravenwolf wrote). I'd
probably bore everyone to death!

I would be interested in a reading group, I do enjoy reading. I would mind the heavy stuff. It's where you get out of your comfort zone.

No disrespect to the group or Lady Nightshayde, but I checked this story out on snopes, com, and found both of them to be untrue.

Butterfly Wishes Spell

Posted by: "Lady Nightshayde" LadyNightshayde9@aol.com   nightshayde99

Wed Jul 27, 2011 2:25 am (PDT)

Butterfly Whispers Spell

In this day and age of global markets and global conflicts, our homes are often missing loved ones who may be half the world away. It is said that butterflies are the carriers of the soul to heaven. They were earthly representatives of the Greek goddess Psyche, who possessed the wings of a butterfly. These winged beauties also serve as messengers, carrying our thoughts and desires to those we love. Visit a place where the butterflies roam and can easily be found. Calmly and carefully try to get close to one of them so you can whisper your message to it. When its wings once again take flight, your message will be delivered.

Prayer to the Elements

Posted by: "Lady Nightshayde" LadyNightshayde9@aol.com   nightshayde99

Wed Jul 27, 2011 2:26 am (PDT)

Prayer to the Elements

Use this prayer whenever you feel out of sorts, have the blahs, or need
to find balance in your personal circumstances.

Come to me Air, so fresh and so clean,
Grant mental power - keep my thoughts sharp and keen.
Bring creativity - bring clarity, too.
Lend your positive aspects to all that I do.
Come to me Water, so flowing and so free,
Lend compassion and love & gentility.
Grant understanding and tempers, please soothe -
And life's little problems, please help me to smooth.
Come to me Fire, so warm and so bright.
As I walk through this life, my pathway, please light.
Please help me to live and to love with pure zest -
Standing up for the Truth, when I'm put to the test.
Come to me Earth, so rich and so moist,
Bestow, please, Your gifts of serene peace and joy
Grant Your stability and ethical ways,
So I may help others, the rest of my days.
Akasha, please come, and work with these four
And balance Their aspects within me once more.
Transform my life, for You hold the key
To changing me into that which I should be.
Elements of all that live and shall be,
Please spin your spell in pure harmony -
Weaving the threads of my life with ease,
And stitching it's fabric with Blessed Be's.

Hymn to Sekhmet

Posted by: "Lady Nightshayde" LadyNightshayde9@aol.com   nightshayde99

Wed Jul 27, 2011 2:28 am (PDT)

Hymn to Sekhmet

O Great Lady,
She Who brings Evildoers to Justice,
Right Eye of Ra,
Turn not Your anger against us.

We bend our arms to You,
We fall on our bellies before Your red rage,
No evil can withstand the fire of Your righteousness,
Turn not Your anger against us.

The weak cry out to You,
The sick pray for healing,
The wronged plead for justice.
Turn not Your anger against us.

Great is the love of Your people for You.
Behold, we pour cool water and oil for You,
We offer red beer to slake Your thirst for blood,
Turn not Your anger against us.

O Mighty Sekhmet,
Queen of Cities,
Whose strength is without contender,
May You ascend to Ra with our prayers,
Riding the hot winds of Tjemehu,
Roaring Your demands
For Truth,
Retribution,
And the return of Ma'at.

Turn not Your anger against us.

Elder's Meditation of the Day

Posted by: "Lady Nightshayde" LadyNightshayde9@aol.com   nightshayde99

Elder's Meditation of the Day

"These are our times and our responsibilities. Every human being has a sacred duty to protect the welfare of our Mother Earth, from whom all life comes. In order to do this, we must recognize the enemy - the one within us. We must begin with ourselves..."

-- Leon Shenandoah, ONONDAGA

The outside is merely a reflection of our insides. My mind is designed to tell me that I'm not crazy for thinking what I am thinking. Even if I have angry thought, my mind is giving me excuses and reasons why it is OK to think what I'm thinking. I need to be knowledgeable about the laws of harmony and balance. I cannot twist the laws to serve me, but I can adjust my life to serve the laws. This is the law - I am here to serve the Earth. The Earth is not here for me to misuse and abuse.

Oh Great Spirit, allow me the insight and knowledge of how to live in harmony and balance with my surroundings. Grant me change from within.

Dieting getting you down?

Peppermint: Invigorates and revitalizes energy. A walk around the block
doesn't seem impossible after all.
Rose: Relieves an overtaxed mind and overworked body. A short sit-down or
nap is better than a candy bar!
Rosemary: Invigorating for those low-energy days. Boosts self-esteem that
helps you stick to your eating plan.
