Deer Power Invocation
Posted by: "Cher Chirichello" CHIC0411@YAHOO.COM chic0411

Deer Power Invocation
Incense of the day: Musk
The deer is a very sacred animal in many cultures. In Celtic tradition,
deer symbolized the abundance of the wilderness, fertility, speed,
grace, and the magic of the otherworld. Supernatural deer sometimes
appeared to lure or entice people deeper into the forest where they
might experience an important spiritual test or adventure. Often these
deer were gods or goddesses in the shape of deer. The milk of deer was
also believed to have special properties, and various supernatural
females were associated with deerâs milk. Recite this spell for strength and success which invokes the powers of the deer:
On milk of deer I was reared,
On milk of deer I was nurtured,
On milk of deer beneath the ridge of storms,
On crest of hill and mountain.
In likeness of deer, in strength and in power
I move between the worlds in the name of the gods.

Farewell Ritual
Posted by: "Cher Chirichello" CHIC0411@YAHOO.COM chic0411

Farewell Ritual
.
When a good friend is moving away, use this ritual to send him or her off
with a blessing and to assure an occasional return visit. Start by
inviting the guest of honor and his or her closest acquaintances. With
the guest in the middle of a circle, invite each attendee to share a
story about the subject with the group. Have the subject and a circle
elder each braid three stalks of wheat together. Tie the two ends with a green ribbon to form a circle or wreath. Have the subject and the elder exchange wreaths upon completion. In this way the energy in the circle
is given to each person, and each are left with part of the other. ~Jenna Tigerheart

Goddess For Today: Laima Biding of the Wreaths (Lithuania)
Posted by: "Cher Chirichello" CHIC0411@YAHOO.COM chic0411
Mon Jul 18, 2011 8:04 pm (PDT)
Goddess For Today: Laima
Biding of the Wreaths (Lithuania)
Themes: Love; Unity; Blessing; Luck; Destiny; Magic
Symbols: Wreaths; Swans
About Laima: The Lithuanian Goddess of fate, luck, beauty, and magic swoops into our lives in the form of a swan, reminding us of the transformative power
of love. Traditionally, all Laima needs to change from one form to
another is a swan feather, alluding to her nature as a shape-shifter who uses magical charms to manifest her will.
To Do Today: Around this time of year, young people in Lithuania gather in a temple
at sunset, then go into the forest to harvest summer flowers. From
these, circlets and strings are made to crown and bind lovers together
in Laima's and nature's beauty. Then the young people dance together
round a birch tree (rather like a Maypole) singing to the Goddess and
asking for her blessing. This is a lovely tradition that can be adapted by gathering summer flowers and holding hands around them at your
family supper table. Allow Laima to renew your love and unity in a
moment of silence before dinner. If you live alone, invite a close
friend to join you instead.
Also, find a small rose-vine wreath at a craft shop. Adhere the image of a swan to
this somehow (representing Laima), and hang it where you can easily see
the wreath regularly. Each time you do, remind yourself that love is
the most powerful of all the goddess's magic--and that includes loving
yourself!

DailyOM - Purpose
Today's DailyOM brought to you by:
July 18, 2011
Evolution through Exploration
Purpose
Humans for the most part are not born consciously knowing what their purpose is and it must be found through exploration.
Most living things belong to a particular soul group and are born knowing their purpose in life. An animal will spend its day foraging for food, taking care of itself and its young, and creating a home. No one tells an animal to do this, yet it instinctively knows how. Humans, for the most part, are not born consciously knowing what their purpose is.
Purpose gives our life meaning. When you discover your purpose, you can live your life with intention and make choices that serve your objective for why you are here on the planet. Finding your purpose is not always easy. You must embrace life wholeheartedly, explore many different pathways, and allow yourself to grow. Your purpose is as unique as you are and will evolve as you move through life. You donât need anyoneâs permission to fulfill your purpose, and no one can tell you what that purpose is. Finding and fulfilling your purpose can be a lifelong endeavor. To figure out what your purpose is, ask yourself what drives you â" not what forces you out of bed in the morning, but what makes you glad to be alive. Make a list of activities that you wish you were involved in or think about a career path that you would love to embark upon. These are the endeavors that can help you fulfill your purpose and bring you the most satisfaction.
Picture yourself working on projects that donât interest you or fulfill your purpose, yet they help satisfy your basic survival needs. Imagine how living this way each day would make you feel. Next, picture yourself devoting your time to projects that spark your imagination, inspire, excite, and satisfy you. More often than not, these activities are some of the ways that you can fulfill your life purpose. Time spent on these endeavors will never feel like a waste. Live your life with purpose, and you will feel significant and capable because every action you take and each choice you make will have meaning to it.
