With the potent Full Moon only two days away, it is wise to prepare for this upcoming monthly high-cycle of the solar and lunar orbs. Meanwhile, today is split between the closing down of Aquarius Moon and the start of Pisces Moon.

In the early hours today, we have the Sun contra-parallel to Chiron (7:07AM PDT), Mars trine Ceres in water signs (9:25AM PDT), Mercury opposite Chiron (9:30AM PDT), and the monthly Moon-Neptune union in Aquarius (10:33AM PDT). The combination of all these alignments provides a good amount of inspiration across the board. Exploring holistic healing, alternative medicine, sports psychology and precognitive dreams certainly makes sense.

Be aware that the Moon-Neptune conjunction also doubles as a start for a void lunar dispensation lasting until 12:28PM PDT when the Moon enters Pisces. Once the Moon is sailing in Piscean waters, empathy and compassion for the truly disenfranchised are qualities to emulate.

The rest of the day is a mixture of tensions and opportunities since Venus opposes Ceres (2:28PM PDT), the Moon unites with Chiron (4:55PM PDT), Venus forms a supportive, 60-degree alliance with Mars (9:23PM PDT), Venus makes an abrasive, 135-degree tie to Jupiter (9:26PM PDT), and Mercury forms an off-kilter, 150-degree link to its higher-octave guardian planet Uranus (10:02PM PDT).

When the cosmos hurls so many potent alignments in your direction, you may feel overwhelmed by the tasks at hand. Since three of the aspects mentioned above involve Venus, it makes sense to be extra kind to dear ones on the ropes. Slow your tempo on the romantic front. Use words to heal - not harm.

Love, Light and Abundant Blessings,
LadyHawk

You're clear this post is from a gaming system of some kind, not anything from a real world religion, right? I just want to make sure that people reading who AREN'T familiar with game systems and references don't think this is a real world reference.

New Class: Voudin

Vaudin are a divine caster class, based loosely on voodou practitioners. A male vaudin is called a houngan, and a female one a mambo. Vaudin gain spells from the same list as druids, but not in the same manner. Instead of praying for spells, and casting them as they need them, vaudin must either prepare potions or bind a task spirits. Both of these things are focused on the loa.

A mambo's loa is a powerful spirit that stands as an intermediary between men and God. The mambo serves the loa by bringing it offerings it likes and allowing it to ride her. The loa, in return grants some measure of power to the mambo by imbuing power into her
potions and granting her some authority over its children and underlings as task spirits.

In preparing a potion, the mambo prepares a mixture of things that she feels her loa will like. This rocess takes no less than caster level time spell level, in hours. This process can only be sped up with the help of another vaudin, so creation of high level potions necesitates vaudin work together. She then must add something that contains the essence of the person for whom the potion is made. This is easiest with blood, but can also be accomplished with hair, if it is freshly pulled. The potion must then be consumed by the person for whom it was intended before the next moonphase, or it will spoil. For the purposes of this rule, a given phase takes three days to complete. Because of the greater preparation involved, a mambo's potions always have maximum effect. Potions are used for spells that will affect things with souls, such as people, many
extraplanar creatures, and the higher order undead. Not that certain mage spells can seperate a person's soul from their body. In these cases, it is much more difficult for the mambo to work magic upon them.

A mambo can also bind task spirits to her. These spirits are capable of perfoming the necesary intercession with the physical and spirit world to bring about spells much faster and with less preparation than the mambo can through potions. They also can be used to hold a spell for duration that is only bounded by the casters endurance and charm. Whenever a mambo gains access to a new spell level, she has the option to seek out a new task spirit. If she finds one and makes an accomodation with him, she can task him to cast any spell of that level or below in a given day. That is the only spell he will cast that day, but he will cast it as often as the caster makes a Diplomacy check DC Spell Level + task spirit HD + number of times he has cast
the spell previously today, where the task spirit is considered to have the same number of hit dice as the caster did at the time she bound him. Unlike potions, variable effects listed for spells cast via task spirits are variable, not maximized. Task spirits are for spells that affect plants, animals, and nature. They can also be useful for their knowledge of the planes.

A mambo advances in hit dice, skill points, saves, and feats like a druid. She does not receive an animal companion. She may wear any armor and weild any weapon she chooses, though she does not receive proficiencies beyond those alloted to a druid.

A vaudin receives the following powers:

4th Aspect of Loa 1/day
8th Aspect of Loa 2/day
12th Aspect of Loa 3/day
16th Aspect of Loa 4/day
20th Aspect of Loa 5/day

Aspect of Loa -- When a mambo is being ridden, she takes on the aspect of her loa, while her spirit is being occupied. Since she is not
present, she cannot command her tasked spirits, and since her loa is occupied with riding her, he cannot respond to her potions. However, the loa's aspect will grant the powers of its creatures, and some of these are great indeed.

While being ridden, a mambo has one of following:
1) Attack forms, Special attacks, BAB, and Strength of the creature
2) Movement modes and Dexterity of the creature
3) Size, hit dice, and Constitution of the creature
4) Any one category of special quality of the creature

If viewed from the astral plane, the mambo appears to be an axiomatic version of the creature. However, physically her form does not change. If the powers confered upon her would require a physical form change, the mambo behaves as though her form has changed, and the effects are the same as if it has, but without magical vision, the mambo simply appears to be behaving erratically at first blush.

The mambo does not have access
to any creature that might be associated with her loa. She instead selects, at the levels she gains this ability or it improves, from the two creatures available to her at that level, or to advance a creature chosen in a previous level. The list of acceptable creatures is specific to the loa. Creatures chosen for a particular power level should have a CR less than or equal to the level at which it becomes available minus 2, although creatures should be advanced to match. Note that different creature types advance at different rates.

Should the mambo elect to a assume the Size, hit dice, and Constitution of the creatre, it is entirely possible that when the loa leaves her, she will have taken more damage than she can survive. In this case, scale the damage so that the mambo has a like proportion of hit points remaining.

Should the mambo elect to assume the attack forms of multiple creatures, she also gains the ability to make the cumulative
number of attacks those creatures would get, as a full attack.

Sample Loa -- Brother Jallum

Brother Jallum is a swamp loa, associated in particular with insects, fungus, moss, and other things that grow in profusion. His people strive to make the most use out of any situation, and to have many simple plans so that the loss of any one is no great loss. He is pictured as Mannannan mac Lir, and also as a corpulent man with pale skin and many bulging pockets. Brother Jallum is called upon for healing and self-improvement, as both of these are seen as signs of adaptability, and also in trickery and crime, as he is known to turn any situation to his benifit.

Aspects of Brother Jallum
-------------------------
4th - 2 Stirges (1.5 CR), Giant Ant (2 CR) - fix this
8th - Shambling Mound (6 CR), 2 Phase Spiders (6 CR) - fix this
12th - Treant 15HD (10 CR), Hellwasp Swarm - fix this
16th - Colossal Monstrous
Spider (32 HD) (11 CR)
20th - Formians (Special) (CR 18) - fix this

If the mambo assumes the aspect of Formians, she picks an uneven group of Formians that add up to CR 18. She assumes the aspect of the most powerful one, and and assigns the others to willing creatures within range of her Formian hive mind (no matter what benefits of the Formians she takes, the mambo always gains hive mind). These creatures can use their aspects just as if they were vaudin, and had taken that aspec themselves. They also gain the benefit of the hive mind, and at her discression, the mambo can elect to take her turn from the body of one of her vassals, casting spells, moving, or taking attack actions using her own modifiers, but with the body of her vassal. This happens on her initiative, and does not cost the vassal his turn.

Feng Shui Tip for Sept. 10

Daily Feng Shui Tip by Ellen Whitehurst for Saturday, September 10

Today would have been a milestone birthday for my dear mother, who passed away from cancer over twenty years ago. I miss her every day, and still celebrate holidays with her, even though now she is doing that in spirit. One of the ways Feng Shui says to spend time with the dearly departed is to leave a lamp or a candle in a glass dome burning on the actual burial spot or grave. This light illuminates the way for the spirit to see beyond the veil and to appreciate the wishes and love sent to them by the living. Every year around April 15, graves in China are repaired and tended to. Once done, a picnic is held close to the site with a place set for the loved one who has passed. This custom of setting a place for one of our own who has crossed over is also enacted on the anniversary of the death. The tradition that we will be employing today also comes out of the Orient. In Eastern tradition it is considered customary to draw a picture of a gift or present, put it in a red envelope, and burn it so it can be carried in smoke to the deceased in the next world. The only question now is what should we draw for her this year? I think a beautiful heart will just about say it all! Happy Birthday Mom, we miss you!

The light of a hundred stars cannot equal the light of the Moon.

Love Each Day,
Lady Nightshayde

How Crystals Work

How Crystals Work

New Age, Metaphysical, crystals and healing stones

an article by Michael McKnight at The Crystal Ball

What are healing crystals and do they really work ?

First ....Live and let Live....Please

Before I go on let me state for the record, that I believe that the use of crystals, aromatherapy, herbs, vitamins, sound, light, or any other form of alternative treatment is a matter of personal choice. I am not, nor do I recommend the conversion of those that choose not to participate in these other gifts from the universal spirit. I pick no fight with those of various religious doctrine who oppose these ideas, and ask only for the same courtesy in return.

----------------------------------------------------------

TWO RULES OF CRYSTAL WORK

RULE NO. 1 - There are no rules for use of crystals or minerals in healing.

RULE NO. 2 - For all other rules refer to RULE NO. 1....!!!! Introduction

My name is Michael McKnight and I am co-owner of The Crystal Ball LLC, I am a goldsmith, a merchant, a father, , a sweetie of my wife Diane, BUT NOT A PROFESSIONAL JOURNALIST. This is my first attempt at writing any type of article so please forgive my journalistic ineptness in advance. The following article is a statement of my opinion regarding the use of crystals for healing. These thoughts are the result of observation over the last 10 years I have been involved with these beautiful gifts from God through the abundant earth. The Healing Crystal.....???? To begin, lets explore The Healing Crystals. Many folks come through our door and want to know where are the Healing Crystals ? People of all walks of life come to us almost every day and ask about The Healing Crystal.

Perhaps they had seen a TV talk show or read an article in a magazine that referred to someone using crystals to do physical or emotional healing, and want to find out more about these crystalline miracle makers. First of all, you should be aware that there isn't just ONE crystal that is the all powerful Healer, but rather many many different crystals and minerals that can be of benefit to us just as there are many different traditional drugs. They come in all shapes and sizes, colors, and compositions.

By the time many folks find us or shops similar to ours, they may have been through some scary or at least challenging times in their lives and looking some relief, quickly if possible. It would be convenient if we could simply pull out The Healing Crystal, but I'm afraid that it's not that simple. A bit more education is in order before the best crystal or mineral can be selected for the kind of help that is being sought. What I suspect that most people are referring to would be the clear quartz crystal that most every one has seen at one time in their lives. To be sure, the quartz crystal has a lot going for it in terms of public recognition. Many practitioners that use crystals and minerals for healing work would agree that the quartz crystal in various shapes and sizes is truly one of the most versatile and useful crystals the earth has to offer.

Metaphysically, the quartz crystal can be easily programmed to help provide a positive outcome. It can clear away negative energy from the aura and re-align the chakra (energy) centers of the body. It can be useful in long distance healing through imaging and meditation. It is beyond the scope of this article to have a full discourse of quartz crystals. You can find many books written about crystal healing and you will see that discussion of quartz crystals in these books usually takes a lions share of the space, and rightfully so.

There are Other Healing Crystals ?

There are many different approaches towards the use of crystals and minerals in regard to healing. The one we use at our shop for recommendations is to simply associate the various crystals and minerals with their healing color.

Why use Color ?

Because it is relatively easy to learn the color healing system, and once it is learned you can use it to quickly identify what crystal or mineral to use for specific healing. The use of color to create or alter certain emotions or moods has long been an excepted practice by many traditional professional mental health doctors and care givers. We also borrow from ancient eastern culture to further associate these colors to the various chakra centers in the body. A chakra is an energy center of which there 7 major centers starting with the root located at the base of the spine and ending a the crown of the head. Each chakra has an associated color (or colors) and each of these colors can be easily associated with the colors of the crystals or minerals which affect that area of the body.

Here is a list of the 7 major chakras and their associated colors:

1st chakra - The ROOT

Primary color is red, other colors associated with the Root Chakra are black brown, and gray.

Gemstones like Garnet or Onyx, Red Jasper

2nd chakra - The Naval

Primary color is orange, others are all various shades of orange.

Gemstones like Carnelian, orange Zincite

3rd chakra - The Solar Plexus

Primary color is yellow, others are various shades of yellow.

Gemstones like Citrine, Yellow Sapphire, yellow topaz

4th chakra - The Heart

Primary color is green and shades of green, the secondary color is pink.

Gemstones like Rose Quartz or Green Tourmaline or aventurine

5th chakra - The Throat

Primary color is light blue like aqua or turquoise, secondary colors are various shades of lighter blues.

Gemstones like Turquoise or Blue Lace Agate

6th chakra - The Third eye ( or brow)

Primary color is dark blue or various shades of dark blue.

Gemstones like Lapis Lazuli or Sodalite

7th chakra - The Crown

Primary color is purple, the secondary colors are shades of purple and colorless (clear) or white.

Gemstones like Amethyst or Clear Quartz

----------------------------------------------------------

If you can memorize (or print-out) these associated colors with their chakra centers, you can then go anywhere and pick out a crystal or mineral that will help with the affected area.

Now having said all of that, you must remember that each kind of crystal and mineral can and does have other transformational properties that are specific to that crystal or mineral. When you want to acquire more in depth knowledge about these properties, buy or check out one or more of the many books that cover this subject. But in the meantime you now have enough information to make a reasonably good pick by using the associated color method.

What about the necessary size and quality of crystals/minerals ?

It has been shown through Kerlian photography that the aura or energy fields surrounding objects extend a considerable distance from its core. Remember I am among other things a merchant and as such have a vested interest in selling things. The bigger things usually cost more and create more profits, however, the truth of the matter is even small, lesser quality crystal / mineral, in essence have the same energy fields as bigger more expensive ones. It becomes a matter of personal taste and pocket-book after the right kind of crystal is picked.

Do I need to wear a crystal / mineral or can

I just carry one to get the benefits ?

As a goldsmith I should advise in favor of wearing a piece, but the truth is either method is good, again a matter of taste and pocket-book.

OK, OK, but how do they actually work ??

Fact is I don't really know, but it must have something to do with faith, believing, imaging, and the greater god consciousness that is beyond words or speech. I know that there are nice folks out there in the world that would never believe that a rock or such could ever help them in any way. If it is true that we actually live many many lives and reincarnation is fact, then these people are simply in a particular incarnation that precludes them from having such beliefs (this time around).

Unfortunately, pain is one of our great motivator's and equalizers. This could be physical or emotional pain, but it does have a way of getting our attention, and opening our minds to things which may give us some relief from this pain. But it's not always pain that gives us incentive to search beyond our past experience for new solutions or answers.

Sometimes it's just a need to break away from old habits, maybe find a new career that can be fulfilling, or to find a new mate with which we will be proud to share our lives. Personally I believe that crystals can be effective if we empower them to help us. They work on the subtle energy level at our core and out in our auras.

I'm very much of a pragmatist in these matters, if you have a screaming headache, I say take a few ADVIL. Some folks will hold the crystal and/or slowly move it over a painful area of the body, for example a bad knee, or sore shoulder. Sometimes a steady lessening of pain can be experienced from this practice. It can be used in conjunction with conventional treatments, and can be seen as a pro- active step in-between doctor visits.

There are many ways that we can help ourselves to heal and participate in our own recovery, using crystals is surely one of them.

Clearing , Cleaning and Programming our Crystals

Crystals are a tool and can be like a storage battery of thought energy. Many years ago Dr. Norman Vincent Peal made quite a name for himself after his book The Power of Positive Thinking was released. There are now many followers of his teachings, who have received countless blessings as a result of thinking positive thoughts.

Crystals can be programmed with our thought energy and then act behind the scenes to work on our subtle energy fields. They also to help to create situations in our lives that will lead us in the directions that allow positive growth and healing. In a way it is like using the ideas taught by Dr. Peal and taking it a step farther.

Clearing your new crystal or mineral

Clearing a crystal or mineral is a simple enough task and it is a way to insure that there are no left over negative energies from the party that you obtained the crystal from. It is also not a slap at those who had the crystal before you, rather a way to personalize it and create a new energy bond between you and your new partner. There are many ways to accomplish this, this is one way:

Make sure you are not going to be disturbed (maybe like in the bathroom). Hold your new crystal under room temperature running water, and as the water cascades over the piece, close your eyes and imagine that all negative energies are being washed away down the drain and out to the ocean to be purified. We use a channeled prayer by Dael Walker from years ago before we do the clearing and the prayer alone seems strong enough to clear any negativity from a crystal or a whole building. This is the prayer, it is know as the

Light Invocation:

I invoke the Light of God within. I am a clear and perfect channel. Light is my Guide.

We were told to repeat this prayer three times in a row aloud.

Then to say what it is that we wish to accomplish, as clearly as possible so that our subconscious will not be confused with the message or request. This works to clear crystals but I still prefer to use the running water as part of the personalization ceremony. REMEMBER RULE NO. 1 above, however and learn to trust your own instincts.

Programming your crystal or mineral

Simply hold your crystal in your hand(s) and close your eyes then in your minds eye create an image of what you want to occur.

That's it.

Cleaning your Crystals

I recommend luke warm water a new tooth brush and Joy lemon scented liquid dish soap. Please be aware, that there are a few crystals that may be sensitive to water, and you should be made aware of them at the time of purchase. Be careful of halite, hanksite, other salt related crystals, will dissolve if left in water too long. The crystals like to be cleaned and just sparkle their little hearts out each time you do this. Be sure to rinse well and either blow them off with your own air or pat them dry with soft towel.

A few words about Gold or Silver settings.

Gold is ruled by the Sun a masculine planet, and therefore imparts a more assertive energy to crystals & minerals that are mounted in it. Silver is ruled by the Moon a feminine planet, and therefore imparts a softened less assertive emotional energy to crystals & minerals that are mounted in it. You know what you need so choose accordingly. Conclusion It is my hope that this article has helped to shed some light on the subject. In the meantime We at The Crystal Ball wish you all well, and hope you have a healthy and prosperous rest of your life...

Graveyard Dirt in Magical Workings

Graveyard Dirt in Magical Workings
By Patti Wigington, About.com

Mention graveyard dirt in a magical context, and chances are good you'll get a lot of strange looks or questions.
After all, it sounds a bit creepy, right? Who in their right mind goes around scooping up soil out of cemeteries?

Well, believe it or not, a lot of people. The use of graveyard dirt isn't all that odd in many magical traditions.
In some forms of folk magic, for example, the magical connection of the dirt is more significant than just being
from a grave. What's more important is the person who's inside the grave. Dirt from the grave of someone you loved
could be used in love magic, while dirt from the burial site of a very wicked person might be incorporated into
malevolent workings or curses. In other words, the dirt from the grave is a physical object that corresponds with
the traits of the person buried beneath it.

How does one obtain graveyard dirt? It would be easy to just meander into the local cemetery with a trowel and a
bag and start scooping, but it's better to be more respectful than this. First and foremost, it's important to choose
a gravesite correctly. The best choice is to use dirt from the grave of someone you knew in life -- a family member
or friend who has passed. If the person is someone you cared very much about, and who had a positive impact on your
life, dirt from this grave could be used in any number of positive magical workings.

The second option would be to use dirt from the grave of someone who you may not have known personally, but who is
known to you. For example, soil from a famous writer's grave could be used to inspire a creative spark. Earth from
the grave of a wealthy person might be incorporated into a working for prosperity.

No matter whose grave you choose to collect dirt from, it's important that you do so in a respectful and honorable
manner. Ask permission first -- and if you begin to feel uneasy, as thought the person buried beneath you is unhappy
with what you're doing, then stop. It's also a good idea to leave an offering or small token of appreciation. Only
take a small amount of dirt -- no more than a handful. Finally, be sure to say thank you when you're finished.

For specific examples of how to use graveyard dirt in a ritual or working from a Hoodoo perspective, read Cat
Yronwoode's essay over at Luckymojo: Graveyard Dirt.

Angel Magic

Posted by: "Ani" ani_shadowdragon@peoplepc.com   mystressacksunamoon

Sat Sep 10, 2011 3:32 pm (PDT)

Angel Magic
Angel Magic : Since man has held a belief in angels he has also tried to harness their help and power for his own ends. There are generally two ways in which believers try to do this and these methods are called evocation or invocations.
Evocations are special spells that use a variety of different tools to invoke a physical appearance or manifestation of an angel. Some of these tools might include: incense, candles, books, knives and circles drawn upon the floor. However the component(s) may vary according to the type of spell being used. Incense is one of the more frequently used tools as there is a belief that the ethereal smoke is required as a substance in which the angelmay make itself seen.
Invocations are very similar to evocations, however there is one main difference; i.e., the person trying to summon the angel tries to persuade it to enter their body as opposed to physically appearing. This is so they can communicate. Although far more dangerous it is considered an easier thing to do.
There are a few major flaws with the idea of angel magic namely:
1). Those faiths that hold a belief in angels, mainly Judaism and Christianity, also preach that using magic is a sin.
2). Angels generally come and go as they wish or they engage themselves in God's bidding and not that of man. Even the most lowly of angels is more powerful than man so why one might be compelled to do something by a man is unclear.
3). If it was possible to have the power to bind an angel then wouldn't that same person have the power to achieve his goals himself.
4). God would probably bring down his full wrath on any mortal foolhardy enough to try to use one of his angels. It is also doubtful anyway that God would employ angels that were so incompetent that they would allow themselves to be used by man.
Perhaps a nicer way to acquire the help of angels is through the popular New Age idea of angel meditation. This is where an individual tries to clear his mind and soul in the hope that an angel(s) will serve to guide him. Apparently this has given rise to ideas such as angelic tarot style cards.

Angelic Rituals

Angelic Rituals

Evocations are spells designed to cause a physical manifestation of the angel in the proximity of the summoned. Depending on the spell used, different components may be utilized including knives, circles drawn upon the floor, candles, books, incense, etc. The use of incense is particularly common since it is believed that the ethereal smoke is required as a body in which the angel may make itself seen.

Invocations are much like evocations with one major difference. Instead of causing the angel to appear physically, the user of the magic tries to convince the angel to enter their body directly and thusly communicate with them that way.

Invocation of the Four Archangels

Invoke Uriel in the East. Face the East and as if in prayer say, " I invoke Uriel in the space in front of me. Please give me clarity in this day. How can I best be of service." Or ask specifically for help with clarity on that problem.

Move then to the right, which is south, and the archangel Raphael. If there is a particular healing you need - physical or emotional - ask Raphael for that. But also think about what's dying away in your life so that something new can be born, and ask for illumination or help about that thing.

To the west, invoke the archangel Gabriel to give strength to face and overcome one's fears. Ask, "What are my fears and where do I need strength." Then ask for Gabriel's help.

The last angel is in the north and that is Michael. He is the energy of wisdom and love. Spend a moment reflecting on your life and if there's something you feel you need insight on or true wisdom about, then ask for Michael's help.

After the invocation of the angels, imagine the feminine, nurturing, the womb-like aspect of the god. Imagine that image washing over you and pouring through you. All negativity and doubt wash away. Your heart becomes lighter and lighter and expands to encase you in an egg of light, which interweaves with the light of the Divine.

Sit in that Divine presence for a period of time afterwards as the bulk of your meditation.

Seraphim Call

Brilliant Seraphim I call to thee
Circle 'round, bring love to me.
Mighty Cherubim guard my gate
Remove from me sorrow and hate.
Thrones stand firm, stable be
Keep me steady on land or sea.
I call Dominions, Leadership true
May I be fair in all I do.
Circles of protection Powers form
Help me weather any storm.
Miraculous Virtues hover near
Elemental energies I summon here.
Principalities bring global reform
Bless the world and each babe born.
Glorious ArchAngels show me the way
To bring peace and harmony every day.
Guardian angel, Goddess might
Bless me with your guiding light.

Invitation To Your Angel

1. Find a quiet spot to sit for a moment.

2. Close your eyes and imagine you can feel the presence of your Guardian Angel. If you could see this Angel, what would it look like to you? Any shape or form is fine, for your angel will take on the shape you need the most, the form you want to see. Your Angel encourages contact from you and is quite willing to mold its form into a shape that you find comfortable with. Imagine this as clearly as you can.

3. Imagine that this Angel is smiling, that this Angel is radiating a love that surrounds you with comfort, safety, and security. Really feel this feeling in your body if you can. Feel it in your emotions.

4. Imagine that your Angel is saying to you these words "It's all right. It's all right, It's all right." Allow your body to feel the relief that accompanies these words. Allow your body to feel relief in the knowledge that it *is* all right. For it is all right for you to be who you are, to think what you think and to feel what you feel.

5. If there is something else that you would like your Guardian Angel to say to you - something that is loving, that holds no judgement, only love - a greater love than you have ever experienced in this lifetime - then imagine your Angel saying this to you. Feel the words of your Angel moving through your body, settling your unsettled emotions, calming your confusion.

6. Thank your angel for this gift. And know that the words your Angel has said and the feeling of comfort your angel has brought you, the feeling of safety, is yours. You can tap into this at any time, in any place. It is your birthright.

Through the use of imagination, to imagine that your Angel is there, you tap into the reality that your Angel *is* there. Through the use of your imagination, you begin to develop a relationship with your Guardian Angels or with the other High Beings and Angels around you.

These exercises in imagination are the beginnings of a wonderful reality in which you begin to understand the essence of who you are.

Invite your Angel to be with you at other times. Acknowledge your Angel's presence when you are sitting in the theatre watching a movie, enjoying a beautiful song, or during a time of discomfort or stress. Know that your Angel is with you at all times, in good and in bad, and you give yourself the gift of safety, of security, of knowing that you are not alone. You do not have to face your world alone. You have help.

Guardian Angels

Feeling safe can cover a lot of distance. It can range from feeling secure in your world, secure in your personal safety, if you live in a place that is full of violence and strife, to feeling secure that you can find your next meal, to a vague feeling of satisfaction with your circumstances. For most people, a feeling of safety lies somewhere in the middle.

As you begin to explore your own spirituality, the only real way you can feel safe is to adopt a belief that you are here for a reason, that you existed before you were born into this reality and that you will continue to exist after your body has died. A feeling of safety comes from a belief that you are loved unconditionally, by beings who are not caught up in your everyday reality in physicality.

To know that you have a Guardian Angel who is keeping watch over you can help you feel safe. This does not mean that when your soul has decided that it is time for you to experience an injury, disease or even death, that your Guardian Angel can protect you from these. But your Angel is someone who is with you at all times, is someone who walks beside you in your good times and your bad times, who can be invited to share with you, the pleasures and sorrows of your everyday life.

Your Guardian Angel loves you without question. Your Guardian Angel encourages you, gives you support.

There are other Angels who will be with you if you ask for them. You can ask an Angel to oversee your home. You can ask Angels to oversee your relationships. By believing that angels can be a part of your everyday life, that there is something higher that accompanies you at all times, can help you feel an enormous sense of safety, of security.

To know that you are loved, no matter what you say, know matter what you think, no matter what you feel, is a wonderful gift you can give to yourself. To imagine that you are not alone, to begin to believe it is true that you are not alone, can help you feel a sense of safety, comfort and security. It can also be the first step in learning that it is all right for you to love yourself with the same all encompassing love, no matter what you say, no matter what you think, no matter what you feel.

Love is what you are made of. Love is what has created the entire universe. And any steps you take to tap into that feeling of love, for yourself or for those around you, is a tapping into your true nature.

Here is a short exercise you can use as often as you want to tap into the feeling of security and safety that you get when you get closer to your true nature. Use this during times of forgetfulness, when you are unsure of yourself, when you feel a little bewildered or lost.

Letter Writing To The Oversoul And Guardian Angel

A problem cannot be solved at the level it was created. You may use this Ritual if you have a situation which needs healing, a condition you cannot solve, or a person with whom you have no luck communicating third dimensionally. You are allowed to write a letter to the Oversoul and Guardian Angel of _______________. The following is now the text of the letter.

I ask for Divine intervention for my relationship with _________ (or healing for). I ask for healing of body, mind, spirit and emotions in all dimensions, and time frames. Recognizing that I do not fully understand the karmic implications in this situation I ask the Oversoul and Angels to intervene. I ask for healing from addiction, or anger, diseases, etc. I ask that ______________ become aware for their true nature, their mission and their Oversoul. Because it has been promised that to ask and we shall receive. I recognize that by writing these letters for fourteen days in a row and on the fourteenth day burning the letters, that I am acting in accordance with spirit. I now release this person and their condition to God for resolution.

This ritual is the only way I am aware of for the Oversoul and Guardian Angel to be given a special dispensation to over ride the person's free will for six weeks to positively influence the person's life. You may do this for addicted individuals, but I would to the exorcism also, as most addicted people are periodically possessed and not fighting their addiction for only one person. This is one of the greatest gifts you can offer another person. You do not have to have their permission to write these letters. You can also write the letters for Earth or a country or condition which is present on the Earth.

You write the letters for 14 days (if you miss a day, you keep writing until you have fourteen letters). You then burn the letters on the 14th day and release the person to God and ask for the highest good for all concerned. Fire energy assists in transmuting the situation. You may write the letters every eight weeks, leaving six weeks in between to allow the Oversoul to intervene. Many miracles have been reported through the use of this prayer technique. Above all, read your letter and ask yourself, "Are you doing this out of love for this person, or because of your need to control them?" If so, redo the wording of the letter and be honest about your motives.

Prayer For Exorcism

Through the authority invested in me by the Cosmic Christ Consciousness, I deliberately call forth to the energy of the ArchAngel Michael and the Band of Mercy (a group of angels whose job it is to move lost souls out of the astral plane) to enter the body, home, automobile and place of work of ____________ to remove all negative influences and entities. I ask that these energies and entities be taken into the Light for transmutation and that there be no negative side effects physical, mental or emotional to ______________'s bodies. I ask that __________'s body now be triple sealed (it is helpful to think of the person in three bubbles of light, purple, pink and white) against any further invasion of negative forces.

Summoning The Angels

1. Acknowledge that there is a power within you that is greater than yourself.

2. Meditate as an active listener, not just always the asker.

3. Now summon the angels. (They usually speak in your own thought voice.)

4. Experience the outpouring of creative energy releasing within you like a warm incubator light.

5. Sigh in thanksgiving as you empty your crystal chalice temple of stale thoughts and negative patterns.

6. Be receptive to listening. Let go of those blocks like notions, assumptions, myths and criticism that drown out creativity, risks and unscientific notions.

7. Bless this declaration and instill positive affirmation rather than those usual notes of self-criticism.

8. Ask for openness. One that does not criticize yourself. If that dreadful voice arises (and it does), let go of it.

9. Picture yourself as a vital, enthusiastic, healthy, peaceful and creative sparkle.

10. Embrace and encounter the unlimited power within yourself.

11. Recognize that you are a sacred creative being, inspired by angels, full of exciting ideas and boundless creative energy.

12. Act on your hunches.

Angel Invocation

This is something I copied from the book "Ask Your Angels". It's an angel invocation in the form of a chant. It goes like this:

Eee Nu Rah
Eee Nu Rah
Eee Nu Rah
Zay

It was given to the authors by angels in C-sharp but can be chanted on any note that feels right to you as many times as it feels right to you. It means "I bring all of myself, mind, body, emotions, and soul, together in the presence of the angels". Personally, I have had the best results with this chant by performing it as I fall asleep. it has caused the angels to influence my dreams many times.

Good Luck!

A Prayer To The Angels

DEAR ANGELS and WINGE'D BEINGS:

Please manifest your beings among the race of men. We urgently ask that you beings of spirit who are our brothers in light, enter now the realm of Earth and help us to restore Gaia to Her former beauty and harmony.

We ask this assistance because in our denial of our full selves, we have allowed unscrupulous, soul-less beings to enter our world and these beings even now are destroying it. They are deceiving our minds, they are spreading misinformation to confuse us, they are destroying our resources, they are kidnapping our children, they are stealing our health, they are spreading diseases, they are creating weapons to use against our planet and ourselves, they are plotting to enslave humans, they are brainwashing our leaders, they are threatening our scientists and thinkers, they are raping Nature of her power, and they are stealing our free will. All this they do without love and without care for God's will, for our planet's will and for our will.

We ask for your intervention, knowing that we have been guilty as a species of doing this same violence to other beings on our beloved planet. And we ask now forgiveness for our ignorance. We vow that should you come in your winged form as our spirit selves and aid us now, we will henceforth, decry all violence against our planet and take up the stewardship that our AmerIndians so ably demonstrated in the past.

We further vow that we shall endeavour to look within ourselves for conflict and disharmony before looking outside to others, and that we will focus on our ONENESS with each other rather than our separateness, so that we may manifest God's paradise on Earth.

So mote it be. OM Tat Sat.

The Spiritual Disposition of Tools

The Spiritual Disposition of Tools

Some of you know by now that ethno botany is the love of my life. I am convinced that without a working knowledge of plants and the ecosystems in which they flourish our ritual practices that include everything shamanic lack the power and vitality to truly transcend our everyday reality. The spirits that inhabit every single species are uniquely qualified liaisons for very specific purposes. And you have heard me say, perhaps ad nauseum to some, selection of a plant was never and should never be random. This is true of everything from the fibers chosen for baskets to the species used for mordant, dye and tanning agents. It is true with our medicine bundles and bags, our prayer sticks, our staffs and wands; the herbs used as smudge, steam and washes. It was true of bows, arrows and quivers and true of handles for stone, bone and antler tools, and the focus of this essay.

We know a great deal about stone. And before I launch myself into the botanical component of tools I thought it would be recalcitrant of me to not speak briefly about stone itself. All of us know about stone circles and megaliths. Great stones were known by many to have the ability to speak and prophesy. Some shriek, cure sickness, and find lost souls; others have volition, move at will, float or fly about; those that rock are used for divination.

We wear stones as charms and good luck medicine for every imaginable reason. And we innately know that how we configure them is seriously relevant even if we are no longer certain why. We can feel when the arrangement is off. Whether inordinate in size or insignificantly small the configuration of stone open pathways to other worlds and to those worlds we have made libations and sacrifice throughout, I would guess, our entire history. Stone is ancestral medicine. I wonder how long we have called on stone for not only hunting tools and farm implements but for beads, figurines, talismans, grave goods, and all things magical.

Please note that the spiritual properties of many of the species that are mentioned in this piece can be found in other essays and the appendix on my website so I won't repeat them here. The fibers used to bind stone heads to handles can be found in the appendix as well. A surprising number of species went to handles for axes, knives, and scrapers including the intrepid oak (Quercus) . In the same group we can find alder (Alnus) , juniper (Juniperus) , bearberry (Arctostaphylos) , and box (Buxus) with durability equal to that of brass. Dogwood (Cornus) doesn't split and was an excellent choice for handles and also for mauls, awls, and clubs.

Poplar (Populus) was not only used for shields and spears its propensity to empower self-expression with strength and gentleness made into a superb, purifying wash for tools. Blackthorn (Prunus) was often used for staffs and wands. We know of blackthorn's propensity for fortifying inner strength and patience along with its ability to lend support when destructive forces are at work or we are coping with unexpected things. The bark of blackthorn was used to bind a stone head to a shaft. Its pitch was applied as glue and painted on a constructed tool to add strength and waterproofing. The pitch or resin of birch (Betula) , pine (Pinus) , and yew (Taxus) was used similarly.

Yew is exceedingly versatile and also rendered into adz handles, harpoon shafts, scrapers, clubs, and staffs. We know that it brings the propensities of longevity, wisdom, continuity, and ancestral memory to anything rendered from it. Yew insures safety in unfamiliar territory. It provides inner strength and the courage to change our attitude or direction. Yew helps us release anguish. Wands of yew were used to cast spells of knowledge and judgment. Hazelnut (Corylus) wands are thought to burst into flames once a spell has been cast provided that spell concerns wisdom, arbitration and resetting harmony. The formidable shavegrass (Equisetum) , used to polish wood and bone tools, brings its exorcismal, reconciliatory power to the mix. So lets look at a few other choice selections.

Holly (Ilex) was once used to make spear shafts, an excellent selection when one realizes that holly is associated with balancing direct action with sound judgment. It is linked to accepting reality while affording energy and direction for problems hovering on the horizon, creating power in the moment. Holly promotes the concepts of freedom and equality based on patient teaching and not authoritarian intimidation. It is long wed to winter solstice, the medicine of sacrificial sons, and an agent of divination. Holly directly pertains to the difficult challenges we face in life that require courage and vigor to achieve success. When such profound properties are considered there is no way the selection of holly for spears, shafts, and wands could have been haphazard.

Mistletoe (viscum album) has an alluring connection to winter solstice, worn by ritual lovers. It was believed that only sexual bliss brought the blessings of winter solstice through the gate and had the power to stop anything malevolent from entering at the same moment. This is perhaps the reason why mistletoe in general is regarded as empowerment medicine in matters of the heart. Mistletoe is a parasitic creature that prefers crabapple (Malus) and linden (Tilia) as hosts. It is only rarely found on oak (Quercus) making it auspicious when it is. The wood of these oaks is valued for handles of tools used to doctor severe mental aberration, nervous debility, and weakness.

Hawthorn (Crataegus) was another candidate for both ax handles and digging sticks. It is well known as an agent of exorcism and a mender of broken hearts. Hawthorn is one of the species connected to fertility rituals believed to invigorate our Earth. These ceremonies were most often sexual by nature as well. Hawthorn affords inordinate protection, is a symbol of hope, engaged in casting spells, and guards sacred springs where the devout tied strips of rare and treasured cloth to its branches as an offering. As a gateway marker hawthorn opens and closes entries into other realms and is a favored place under which Earth spirits dance. It is the hottest burning wood known and was the premier choice for perpetual fires. We can readily see why hawthorn might be chosen for a tool handle and just how empowered that tool actually was.

Crabapple (malus) was also a good choice for tool handles. It directly relates to nurturing predisposition and gifts that require persistent care. Crabapple is supportive in decision making when one is faced with a myriad of choices. It is a gatekeeper linked to the concept that immortality is attained through inspiration and wisdom. As longevity medicine crabapple renews vigor and youth. This property could be attributed to the belief that groves of crabapple are sacred gateways into other worlds where time is elongated and knowledge older and more complete. Handling crabapple requires attunement to cyclical nature and profound awareness to the subtleties that affect the flow of energy to achieve perfect harmony within nature. It is interesting to consider that an exceedingly average individual who had chosen crabapple for everyday, utilitarian tools lived his or her life with a finger on something extremely powerful.

Hornbeam (Carpinus) was another consideration for a tool handle as well as support posts for lodges. It is an agent of fertility, inner strength, resilience, and relinquishing children into their own lives. The significance of this rests in the fact that children were given over to hereditary clans and societies, spirit handlers, etc. at puberty (this often meant 10 or 12 years old for boys) for the training needed to become productive adult members of their community. You can see that hornbeam used for their mothers' tools might well have brought comfort to them during these rights of passage.

Maple (Acer) had extraordinary and diverse applications including ax and knife handles. It teaches that adversity creates opportunity for change. Maple is exorcismal by nature and especially appropriate to doctoring the spirits of grief and tragedy. An everyday tool rendered from maple could well have helped to appease these spirits for an individual who had lost a loved one. Maple is also an agent of clarity. It is believed to be superb love medicine that runs the gamut from romantic love to the love of family and community. This property makes maple an obvious good choice when tied up into lodges and bound to wands.

Ash (Fraxinus) is another excellent species for ax, knife, spear, and tool handles. It is rendered into staffs, prayer sticks, and wands, into which were carved spirals: the symbol of inner strength, knowledge, immortality, and self-expression. Ash is an agent of manifestation, calming the mind in order to heighten awareness. It is guarantor of harmony, resilience and endurance. Practitioners handle ash in order to grasp the holistic nature of the universe and peer into the future. By doing so, he or she is capable of escaping the bonds of life and embracing inevitability with peace. Ash has the unique ability to prevent inept or unprepared individuals from disrupting or impairing ceremonial magic. These and other properties hold huge implications for choosing ash for many different types of tools regardless of how those tools were to be used.

As a final thought we must always keep in mind that seemingly utilitarian tools were often superbly crafted from treasured woods and rare jewels of stone. These wonderful pieces were left as offerings on altars, at shrines and groves, and dropped into springs and holy wells. The significance of tools must never be underestimated as spiritually rendered objects of both necessity and sacrifice.

How To Write Your Own Spell

Posted by: "Ani" ani_shadowdragon@peoplepc.com   mystressacksunamoon

How To Write Your Own Spell
While there's absolutely nothing wrong with using other peoples' spells -- and in fact there is an entire industry devoted to publishing books full of them -- there are times when you may wish to use your own. It may be that you can't find what you're looking for in a book, or you might just feel a need to use original material. Whatever your reasons, it's not as hard as you may think to write your own spells if you follow this very simple formula.

Difficulty: Average
Time Required: Varied
Here's How:
1.. Figure out the goal or intent of the working. What is it you wish to accomplish? Are you looking for prosperity? Hoping to get a better job? Trying to bring love into your life? What is the specific aim of the spell? Whatever it may be, make sure you're clear on what it is you want -- "I will get that promotion at work!"

2.. Determine what material components you'll need to achieve the goal. Will the working require herbs, candles, stones? Try to think outside the box when you're composing a spell -- remember that magic relies heavily on symbolism. There's nothing wrong with using unusual ingredients in a working -- Hot Wheels cars, chess pieces, bits of hardware, sunglasses and even old DVDs are all fair game.

3.. Decide if timing is important. In some traditions, moon phase is crucial, while in others it's not significant. Generally, positive magic, or workings that draw things to you, is performed during the waxing moon. Negative or destructive magic is done during the waning phase. It may be that you feel a certain day of the week is best for the working, or even a certain hour of the day. Don't feel obligated to drown yourself in the details, though. If you're a person who feels confident doing magic on the fly without worrying about timing, then go for it.

a.. Days of the Week
4.. Figure out what wording or incantation -- if any -- will be verbalized during the working. Are you going to chant something formal and powerful, calling upon the gods for assistance? Will you simply mutter a poetic couplet under your breath? Or is it the sort of working where you can simply ponder the Universe in silence?

5.. Put all of the above together into a workable form, and then, in the immortal words of the Nike commercial, Just Do It.

Tips:
1.. Despite this being a very bare-bones and simple way of looking at spell construction, it does work effectively. You may wish to keep a magical journal or make notes in your Book of Shadows during the spell construction phase, and then keep track of results as they begin to manifest.

2.. If a working hasn't begun to manifest within a few weeks -- some traditions say within 28 days, a lunar month -- you may want to stop and revisit the working. Figure out what variables may need to be changed.

3.. The Universe has a quirky sense of humor, so make sure anything you cast a spell for is worded correctly. In other words, be careful what you wish for, because you just might get it!

4.. Remember that magic is a tool and a skill set, but some common sense should prevail as well. You can cast all day to get yourself a job, but your chances of success are greatly reduced if you haven't pounded the pavement and sent out copies of your resume!

What You Need:
a.. Intent
b.. Supplies
c.. Your Book of Shadows, if you use one

This is a great tribute by the Eagles. Their harmonies are fabulous. One of the greatest bands ever. They recorded this song the night the towers fell.

Merry Meet,
Thank you, for sending everyone this ecard. We will never forget! In my end of the World, newspapers, tv news and radio news, yearly pays respect to those that were involved and lost. I always have an ache in my heart on this day. I visited the Pentagon and my feeling were so touched. It is not easy to get over this terrible day. I was watching tv when a flash news came on my screen. For some reason I could not sleep that morning and I will never forget it. I pray for all to heal.
Blessed Be
Lady Ckrystal Hawk
