Tacoma,
If you don't have a dutch oven..how many loaves would this make in a regular bread pan..or do you need to use a round pan?
This recipe sounds really good. Thanks.
Pat aka Lionaire

The problem isn't getting old,

It's getting ourselves to accept it.

Please send one of my best friends, Liz prayers. Her ex's like-a-mom to him is in critical need on the east coast. Her name is Sharon. She is like a grandma to her kids. Please light a candle, send healing energies and prayers to Liz and the kids but to Sharon first and foremost. Thanks. <3

Fran,

I am very glad that Dee is showing improvement and will be able to return to work. My prayers are with you as you go through your own medical struggles. Hoping that there will be a good outcome for you both!

BB,

Hawkshill

Two Dreams

Posted by: "hrokr8" hrokr8@yahoo.com   hrokr8

Thu Sep 15, 2011 5:00 pm (PDT)

I'm beginning to feel better ... enough so that I had two different dreams the last two nights that blew my mind. Finally, VIVID dreams (lucid? perhaps) again...

I've been drinking Yarrow tea now and then, recently. That's suppose to enhance psychic abilities, so... maybe... I don't know.

The first one ... there's always a great deal to my dreams. I remember that there are MANY DETAILS... but I only remember a point or two...

I was in a building, may have been my office. I was in a city, with large glass windows and sleek walls. I was aware of someone, outside ... he or she either took something that they shouldn't have... or I needed to talk to this person about something. I left my keys and purse in the building and ran outside, I mean REALLY ran. I'm not that fit ... this was great running. However, I was a hundred yards from my building, and I realized that I had left my purse and keys unattended in the building. I turned around and raced back to the building, I mean I was REALLY REALLY RUNNING, feet extended... until at one point, I was FLYING ... my feet extended and I was being pulled FAST into the building...

It has been a long time since I "flew" in a dream, and this was not with my arms ... it was like my running made me airborne... What a great feeling... surprised the heck out of me, while I was doing it...

----

Last night's dream - This was a landscape, at the edge of a sea, several land "extensions"... The sky was clear... It was beautiful... except the water was rising. There was a LOT of water rising. I saw a lot of white debris. There were construction crews (male and female). At one point, I saw this woman, blond. She had a long bag. I realized that there was a sleeping bag attached to the bag. She lived in a trailer. It was white and blue. It was destroyed. She picked up the bag, and disappeared on me. It was like she was "at work" and then left for the day, disappearing for good. I realized she was packed, and ready to go... and had been for quite a while. When everything was gone, she was gone...

I then saw a lot of trailers - white and blue again (a sense of styrofoam)... there were all destroyed. It looked like a trainwreck. The sunlight was blazing... the waters rising.

I was at the end of a road, where the construction crew was working on rebuilding this wall, or something. I saw this woman on the road, facing this wall... then she was in the water, up to her knees. She looked at me (She looked like the woman who had taken her bag and gone ... long blond hair, in a pony tail), and turned to the wall to continue "buidling."

I turned to go... because the water was rising...

It was a beautiful beach, a breathtaking day... with a lot of destruction, but all white ... and the rising clear water...
===

I'm tempted to ask if anyone is good at "reading" dreams...

I believe that dreams are like a many-faceted jewel. Where ever you stand in the room, the jewel is going to look different -- but it is the same jewel. They are also like onions - many different skins, the same onion...

Thanks for listening!

The usual prelude to [paradigm] changes...is the awareness of anomaly, of an occurrence or set of occurrences that does not fit existing ways of ordering phenomena. The changes that result therefore require putting on a different kind of thinking-cap.

For Cold Sores

Try Frankincense (Botanical name boswillia frareana) for cold sores
Apply this oil at the first sign of outbreak. When you feel the tell-
tale tingle on your lip, apply one drop of Frankincense.

Elder's Meditation of the Day

Elder's Meditation of the Day

"Praying to seek a vision, to seek truth is always right. Truth builds upon itself - as the true mark of a warrior who conducts himself/herself accordingly - so that its beauty may shine in the faces of our children."

-- Barney Bush, SHAWNEE

We move toward and become like that which we think about. What we think about creates our vision. If our thoughts are wise and good, then our vision becomes strong and truthful. If our thoughts are junk, then our vision becomes contaminated. It's important to be aware of what we are thinking about. As I live my vision, my children watch and live their lives the same way. We need to live the walk of the Warrior. We need to walk in beauty and respect.

Oh Great Spirit, give me a vision for today. Let me see truth. Let me walk in beauty. Let my heart guide me in truth. The law says the truth shall set you free. Let me be free today.

How to Cleanse or Purify a Sacred Space

Posted by: "Lady Nightshayde" LadyNightshayde9@aol.com   nightshayde99

How to Cleanse or Purify a Sacred Space
In many Pagan and Wiccan traditions, it is considered important to purify or cleanse a space before any sort of ritual can take place. There are a several different ways of doing this, and how you do it will depend in part upon the rules or guidelines of your tradition. If you're a solitary, or your tradition is eclectic, then you may choose the method that works best for you.
Typically, when an area is ritually purified, it is done in a clockwise direction, but this may vary from one tradition to the next.
Smudging
With smudging, you can use sage, sweetgrass, or other herbs. You can also use incense, if you like. The purpose of smudging is to use smoke to carry negative energy out of the area. When you light sage or sweetgrass, allow it to flame for a moment and then blow out the flame. This will leave you with a burning herb bundle, which will create smoke.
Asperging
In some cases, you may wish to use asperging as a method of cleaning a space. Asperging means using liquid -- the power of water -- to purify the area. Although this is typically done by sprinkling consecrated water around the perimeter of the space, you can also asperge with milk, wine, or either of these blended with honey.
Sweeping
Typically, the broom is associated with cleaning and purification. You can use a broom or besom to go around the edges of the space, sweeping negativity away as you go. It's a good idea to start and finish near a door, so that negative energy can literally be swept outside.
Salt
Salt has been used for purification for thousands of years. Use a bowl of sea salt, sprinkled around the area, to cleanse the space and make it sacred.
Fire
In many cultures, fire is used to ritually purify and cleanse a space. You can do this by lighting a candle and walking the area, or sprinkling cooled ashes around the perimeter (although this can be messy to clean up if you're inside!).

Create and Use Thoughtforms

Create and Use Thoughtforms

A thoughtform (a.k.a. a servitor or an egregore) is an artificial elemental that is intentionally created through visualization and infused with emotional energy. They are nonmaterial creatures and consist of astral substance, or ether. Though frequently an overlooked aspect of contemporary magical training, many Witches and other practitioners of the magical arts have employed thoughtforms since ancient times. thoughtforms have been described as "vortexes" or "centers of psychic energy," and can take on the appearance of an animal, a human, or any type of mythical creature their creators visualize.

Although relatively simple to create, they can aid a magical practitioner in nearly all forms of spell work, including healings. They can serve as watchers, messengers, and even companions. (However, it should be made quite clear that a thoughtform is not the same thing as an imaginary friend.) Some people also create them to guard their homes, gardens, sacred spaces, and other areas.

Thoughtforms can also be unconsciously created, even by those who do not believe in the magical arts, when intense emotions (such as love or hatred) are directed at a specific individual for an extended time.

Found throughout history the world over, thoughtforms can be benign, demonic, or neutral. Ghosts, genies, angelic beings, Withes' familiars, and even the ancient gods and goddesses are types of thoughtforms. So too are the infamous seventy-two Goetic demons that were summoned and bound by the sorcerer King Solomon in olden times.

How to Create a Thoughtform

The following instructions are for creating a simple thoughtform and are designed with the beginner in mind. Advanced thoughtforms, on the other hand, should be left to individuals who possess the proper magical training and experience.

First, you must decide if you want your thoughtform to take the shape of a human, an animal, or some other creature. (An anthromorphic or zoomorphic thoughtform is also known as a tulpa in the Tibetan tradition.) Keep in mind the purpose for which the thoughtform is being created and then choose the most appropriate form.

Next, find a quiet, comfortable place to visualize your thoughtform, and ritually purify it using salt, a smoldering sage bundle, or another method you are comfortable using. Light a candle of a color corresponding to the specific intent of your thoughtform. For instance: white for protection or healing; red for strength, passion, or confrontation; black for binding negative forces and uncrossing; purple for occult wisdom and psychic enhancement, silver for astral and dream work, and so forth.

Using whatever technique works best for you, allow your mind to enter an alpha state. Begin rhythmic breathing and clear your mind of all mundane thoughts. When you feel totally relaxed and are unable to feel your physical body, you are ready to begin visualization.

With your eyes closed, visualize a glowing ball of light floating in the air in front of you, then use your will to make it take on the color associated with your intent. Once this is complete, use your will to transform the sphere into the specific shape you desire, taking care not to overlook small details such as hair and eye color, garments, etc. It is also a good idea to equip your thoughtform with the appropriate tool or tools required for its intended job. For instance, a thoughtform that is programmed for healing purposes could be equipped with a special charm bag containing powerful medicinal herbs or healing gemstones.

As you visualize, chant your intent and infuse the thoughtform with as much emotional energy as you can raise. This is best done by channeling energy through your solar plexus chakra (midway between the navel and the base of the sternum).

Some magical practitioners also find that the act of visualizing symbols, such as runes or bind-runes, upon their thoughtforms empowers them with extra energy, thus allowing them to carry out their missions faster and with much better results.

The next step is to give your thoughtform a name. This is an important part of its creation process, for naming your artificial elemental will allow you to exercise more control over it. The name you choose should be unusual and unique to prevent other people from using it and summoning your thoughtform. Repeat the name several times, either out loud or telepathically.

The thoughtform is now ready to be charged and sent forth to do its work, or stored for future use. For the latter, some practitioners prefer to house their thoughtforms in crystals or talismans. However, a small empty bottle or box will work just fine, especially if it is inscribed with the elemental symbol corresponding to the thoughtform. to store the thoughtform, hold in your hand the object in which you wish to keep it and then use your will to direct the thoughtform into it. After it has been stored in its container, put it in a safe place where it will not be disturbed. Hold it often and charge it with energy to prevent the thoughtform within it from dissipating.

Summoning the thoughtform can be done by simply uttering or thinking its name. Do not be concerned if you are unable to see the thoughtform appear before you. Most are not visible to the naked eye and can be perceived only by those who possess the power of clairvoyant vision. Although you may not be able to directly observe it, you will probably be able to feel its presence.

How to Charge and Send Forth a Thoughtform

Now that your thoughtform has been created, it is ready to be charged and sent forth to carry out its intended work. the best time to do this is when the Moon is in a waxing phase or full, as these lunar influences can bolster the energy of your charging ritual.

Charging a thoughtform requires concentrating on your intent and using the power of emotional energy to direct the focused outcome into the artificial elemental. Using a short sentence consisting of no more than five words, telepathically instruct the thoughtform what to do. (It is best to keep your commands simple because intentionally created thoughtforms do not respond well to complex and detailed instructions.) After commanding the thoughtform, release it into the void like a bullet shot from a gun.

The success (or failure) of a thoughtform depends mainly upon the mind strength and aura of the person who creates it. Like any other type of magical working, the more energy and faith you put into it, the greater results you will achieve. But if your energy level and faith in your abilities as a magical worker are low, a weak thoughtform that will dissipate very quickly and accomplish very little, if anything at all, is probably the best that you can hope for.

In many cases, after a thoughtform has completed its mission or runs out of energy, it will dissolve on its own into the ethers. To keep it from dissipating, you need to perform regular recharging sessions. In some cases, a symbiotic link between the thoughtform and either its creator or target can also keep it charged. Thoughtforms can also feed off of energy sources other than their creators, mutate from the accumulation of various outside influences, and return to wreak havoc. this is why it is always a good idea to undo your thoughtforms once you are finished working with them or if you create one in error.

How to Undo a Thoughtform

When you no longer need your thoughtform, you should undo it and return the energy to Mother Earth to prevent its stray energy from rebounding and bringing about undesired effects. To do this, allow your mind to enter an alpha state on a night when the Moon is in a waning phase. (This is the appropriate lunar phase during which to perform spells and rituals for the elimination of unwanted things.) Summon the thoughtform by calling its name and visualize it floating in the air above you. Then visualize it deconstructing in the reverse order in which it was constructed and then dissipating like mist into the air. As you do this, recite the following incantation, or whatever words you feel are appropriate: "Elemental, you have served me well. the time has come to end this spell. Energy unweave; intent disperse. I cast you back into the earth. As I will it, so mote it be."

Keep in mind that the more powerful a thoughtform becomes, the more effort it will require on the part of its creator to undo it. You may have to repeat the ritual several times before the thoughtform is completely eliminated.

Wind Magic

Posted by: "Lady Nightshayde" LadyNightshayde9@aol.com   nightshayde99

Thu Sep 15, 2011 8:35 pm (PDT)

Wind Magic

Long ago, before the footsteps of human or beast were heard on Earth, there was the wind. And it was magic. It whistled over the hills and sang as it soared above the mountain peaks. So great was its strength it even penetrated the dark virgin forests, whispering its secrets to the majestic trees.

When our earliest ancestors first encountered the wind, they were in awe of its great invisible power. After all, it had chiseled great masses of stone, creating canyons and other unique rock formations in all parts of the world. In the deserts, the winds created the eerie beauty of constantly shifting sand dunes. And in the snowy regions, wind pushed the snows into mounds of icy crystals.

Air and wind give our planet life. The ancients, thus drawn to the invisible energy of the wind, made it part of early folk magic. Sailors of the Aegean Sea believed the wind power could be captured by tying knots in their ship's sails. When a gust of wind was needed, the knot was untied, releasing a breeze, which allowed the ship to move on. Such early magical beliefs prefigured the use of wind magic in much folk magic tradition.

The Four Winds

Understanding the four winds lays the groundwork for performing wind magic. Each wind corresponds to each of the four directions, or quarters, of our Earth. These are, the north, south, east, and west winds. In different parts of the world, the wind patterns vary, so you must adjust this to your magical needs. The following list gives the attributes of each wind according to the weather conditions of North America and Europe. Remember also, when we speak of a prevailing wind, this means the direction from which the wind is coming. That is, the east wind is the wind blowing from the east, not toward it.

The North Wind

In magic, the north wind is the wind of the mysteries, for it comes from the darkness of the north. Use it in spells when you wish to banish a bad habit, destroy a disease, or rid your life of any negativity. It is a cold and barren wind. Its season is winter; its colors are black, or the deepest navy blue. Its element is earth, and its hour is midnight.

The South Wind

This is the hottest of the four winds. Use it in spells where you need a sudden burst of energy or change. But be careful, the south wind can bring you more than you've asked for. It is a hot, dry wind associated with summer. Its colors are brilliant white, yellow, and orange. F ire is its element, and noon is its time of day.

The East Wind

The East wind comes from the direction of the sunrise and moonrise. The east wind is the wind of renewal. Use the east wind in spells when you need a fresh start--a new job, career change, new home, and so on. It is a warm, fresh wind; its season is spring. It belongs to the element air. Crimson and warm pinks are its colors, and dawn is its time of day.

The West Wind

Cool and moist best describes the west wind. It is the wind to use if you are casting a love or fertility spell. Its element is water, and its colors include green, blue, and misty gray. Autumn is its season. The west rules the hours of twilight, so it is a potent wind for spirit contact or seeing into the future.

Working Wind Magic

Before calling on the winds in your magical work, you must prepare yourself. Wind magic is simple, but most of us have lost touch with its power. Stop and think about this for a moment. When was the last time you truly listened to the wind? To appreciate the wind, try getting away to a rural area, a garden, or a park. Begin by sitting and emptying your head. Next, breathe deeply. Lastly, let yourself feel the wind in your hair or on your skin. Try this technique as often as you can and at different times of the day or evening.

Calling Upon the Winds

When you summon the winds to aid in casting a spell, first clear your mind. Focus on your one desire. Write this wish down on a piece of white paper.

Cast your circle, outdoors if possible, and begin by facing north. Ask the winds for their help, speaking words of power, such as:

North wind, wind of mystery, clear away any negativity that would prevent
my desire from coming to me. Thank you.

Turn east and say:

East wind, the wind of renewal, bring this change into my life, with harm to
none. Thank you.

Face south and say:

South wind, I ask you to melt away any obstacles that would hinder my
desire, with harm to none. Thank you.

And last, facing west, saying:

West wind, the wind of emotions, fuel my desire. Bring my wish to me, here
and now, with harm to none. It must be. Thank you.

Burn your wish paper, and sprinkle the ashes in a circle, starting at the north and moving clockwise. Thank the winds, and release your circle. Let the winds carry your wish to the divine. You can ask the winds to assist in almost any type of magic. Remember to ask politely when seeking the wind's help. Never be demanding. The four winds are ancient and powerful.

Red Alert Witchcraft

Posted by: "Lady Nightshayde" LadyNightshayde9@aol.com   nightshayde99

Red Alert Witchcraft

Sometimes the universe grants you the luxury of dedicated magical space, appropriate tools and supplies, planning time, and everything else you need for elaborate ritual magic. Other times a problem pops up that must be dealt with immediately, right where you are, with little or nothing in the way of tools and ceremony. Magic is wonderfully versatile--and the power lies within the practitioner more than in any tool or ceremony.

You can use magic to solve metaphysical problems or in conjunction with mundane efforts to address mundane problems; it is especially good for preventing small issues from snowballing into a major crisis. Advance preparation helps to make you ready for whatever challenges may come your way. Here are some ideas to get you started.

First Steps

Step #1: Stay calm. In order to respond appropriately to a challenge, you need a clear head. By remaining calm, you can use your magical and mundane skills to best advantage. Likewise, keep everyone else calm. Few situations are so bad that panic can't make things a whole lot worse.

Step #2: Ground, center, and shield. Grounding connects you to an outside power source so you don't exhaust your personal energy. Centering lets you keep your mental feet under you, protecting you from internal stress and making it harder for people to confuse you or push you around. Shielding raises a barrier between you and others, protecting you from external stress due to other people or hostile energies. Together these magical techniques give you a firm foundation from which to work--and after some practice, they can be done instantly with a flick of your will, with no outward sign at all.

Step #3: Identify the problem. Take time to figure out exactly what is wrong, as best you can tell. Is the matter small or large? Magical or mundane? In progress, imminently, or merely approaching? Who does it affect? How did it get started? Ask other people for information, if possible, but also use all of your physical and metaphysical powers of observation. The more you know about the situation, the better your chance of resolving it in a positive manner.

Step #4: Make a plan take time to use your cool head and your observations to decide on a course of action. Don't just do the first thing you think of. Whether you have seconds, minutes, or hours to respond--make the best of that time. Then act on your plan to improve the situation.

Emergency Supplies

One excellent way to prepare for the unexpected is to carry a few simple items that are useful in a variety of situations. These fit neatly in a purse, pocket, backpack, suitcase, the glove compartment of a car, and so forth. Most are inconspicuous, thus unlikely to attract attention from curious onlookers.

Essences and Oils: If you have a favorite flower essence or essential oil for use in a crisis, carry some with you in a perfume bottle or pendant. Bach's Rescue Remedy is a popular choice, a blend of flower essences designed to soothe and balance. For essential oil, consider a "protection" blend, such as Spellbound offered by Kamala Perfumes, ideal for shielding. Magical liquids can be used to draw runes, protective symbols, etc. Fragrant oils and flower essences both represent elemental air, which brings clarity of mind.

Lighter: Even if you don't smoke, a cigarette lighter makes a discreet source of flame. It serves as a representation of elemental fire, which purifies and protects. Of course, if you've got candles, you can also light them; but in a pinch, the lighter alone will work.

Mirror: A compact mirror, signal mirror for campers, or other tiny portable mirrors will suffice; a large one is not necessary. Pointed away from you, mirrors reflect negativity. Just carrying one repels some malicious entities. A mirror also make s a good focus for scrying. In dim light, gaze into the reflective surface and let your mind wander until images form.

Pencil: A wooden pencil makes an excellent magic wand. (A mechanical pencil or a pen can work, but usually not as well as natural wood.) Holding it as you would your regular wand, use it to direct and focus energy. It's also ideal for writing runes, protective symbols, and so forth to affect other objects.

Pentacle: Wear a pentacle for protection, preferable under your clothes next to your skin. It is also a place to store magical energy. Fill it up during a quiet time, and you'll have that energy available when things get tense. Magical tools can be charged in many ways including energy manipulation, repeated ritual use, and leaving them out in sunlight or moonlight. A pentacle represents all the magical elements combines.

Salt: This representation of elemental earth purifies, protects, and blesses. Salt repels or banishes many hostile energies. Sprinkle it dry or mix it with water. In either form, salt can be used to trace wards or protective symbols. Draw a circle with salt or salt water to keep out unwanted influences. Dabbing it on a lock discourages anyone else from messing with the lock, and protects the locked item or space. The easiest and most discreet way to carry salt is to save those little paper packets used in fast-food restaurants.

Stones: Many semiprecious stones have magical qualities. Wear them as jewelry, carry them on a key chain, stash them in the glove compartment of your car, etc. At a minimum, carry a quartz crystal, which adapts to serve any magical purpose. Other good choices include: amethyst (increases psychic powers), garnet (gives courage), aventurine (calms), jade (brings luck), obsidian (protects), jasper (aids with grounding). Any ordinary rock can represent earth or assist grounding, too. Hold the stone and concentrate on your goal to activate a stone's magical qualities--although some qualities tend to be active continually, like protection or luck.

Thread: Lighter and easier to conceal than rope, thread (or string) works just as well for knot magic. With it you can work a quick charm to bind an enemy, tangle the path of a pursuer, slow blood loss, bind or loosen the wind--anything traditionally done with knot magic. To bind, slow, stop, or prevent something, tie one or more knots in a thread. To release, set loose, or open something, untie one or more knots. To obscure a trail, tie a tangle of thread and drop it where a pursuer will step on it. A traveler's sewing kit contains several different colors of thread, and the smallest kits fit in the palm of a hand. A stray thread pulled from your clothing also works.

Water: In all forms, water purifies. Running water forms a protective boundary, and ice binds. To banish something, draw it or write its name on a piece of toilet paper, and flush it down a toilet. To cleanse yourself of unwanted energies, go to the nearest restroom and wash your hands. Water is usually easy to find even if you don't carry it. Still, bottled water or a perfume bottle of water is easy and unobtrusive to keep with you. Of course, it also represents elemental water.

Inconspicuous Magic

Some types of magic are flashy. Others are discreet, giving little or no outward sign of their presence. Inconspicuous magic is often faster because it relies more on the caster and less on outside tools. Also, magic works on the caster and less on outside tools. Also, magic works best when given a framework to support it, so it's easier to layer a shield over an existing wall than to create one in midair. It's easier to shift probabilities to match your mundane actions than to make something happen by magic alone. This also helps hide magic by providing an alternative explanation--instead of "witchcraft" you're benefiting from "favorable coincidences." (One definition of magic is coincidence control.)

Energy manipulation is the most basic type of magic. You simply grab the power and shape it into the form you need. Mold it into a wall or bubble to shield yourself or others. (Do not try to stop onrushing energy and objects directly, just deflect them harmlessly to one side.) To clear negative energy from an area, imagine a wind or broom sweeping it all away. If you need to pass quickly through a crowd, shape your aura into a wedge and extend it ahead of you to move people apart. Energy manipulation comes entirely from inside you, so there's nothing for nonmagical people to notice.

Folk charms include a wide range of simple actions and objects, each creating a specific effect. A penny in your shoe for wealth, an obsidian bead on your cell phone to protect it from loss or theft, a four-leaf clover for luck--these are all passive folk charms that require no action from you to do their thing. Making a fig hand (thumb between first two fingers) to avert evil, tying a knot to calm a storm, scuffing your shoe on a threshold to shed hostility--these are active charms that are easily concealed, perhaps behind your back or under a table. Another option is to layer such charms over a similar action required for mundane reasons; for instance, if you're wrapping gauze over a cut, concentrate on stopping the bleeding when you knot the bandage in place. Most of the items mentioned previously in "Emergency Supplies" can be used in folk charms.

Meditation works well in any situation where you need to wait for something to happen, stay alert, or remain calm for an extended period of time. You can meditate by focusing your attention on a sound like a ticking clock or a soothing phrase; by staring at a pattern, such as a scrollwork carpet or the dance of shadows under a tree; and so forth. the "alert" version works by spreading your awareness evenly throughout your environment, noticing everything but not focusing on anything--until something requires a response, when you will be ready to act immediately. Meditation keeps you from exhausting yourself with worry, and recharges your energy after working magic or other exertion. Being completely internal, it tends to be undetectable.

Prayer serves a similar function to meditation. It soothes, heals, and restores energy. But unlike the other forms of magic discussed here, prayer asks a higher power for assistance rather than creating the desired effect through the practitioner's own will. It requires the least amount of effort, making it more useful when you lack the energy for anything more exertive; and it needs no outward sign, although you can add some (such as a hand gesture or a holy symbol) if you wish.

Symbols represent a certain energy or goal in a visual pattern. Good symbols for emergencies include algiz (shield), Eye of Horus (protects against the evil eye), lightning bolt (power, success), nauthiz (need, petition for aid), om (meditation), peace symbol (neutralizes hostility), pentagram (protection, containment), raido (safe travel), and Thor's hammer or tau cross (averts misfortune). Symbols may be traced in the air, drawn with a pencil, or traced on objects using magical liquids such as essential oil. The above symbols and uses will fit on an index crd, which can be folded and kept in a wallet or glove compartment for reference.

Visualization is a technique used to facilitate many magical effects. It involves forming an intense sensory image--visual, auditory, tactile, etc.--of what you wish to happen. For instance, when manipulating energy to make someone leave you alone, you might imagine yourself concealed by fog and the bothersome person walking away. For safe travel on icy roads, you could throw down a pinch of salt while imagining the ice melting and your car tires gripping the road securely. The harder you concentrate, and the more detailed your visualization, the more effective it will be.

Wherever you go, you will find challenges--and a little magical preparation will help you to meet them gracefully. Practice with different techniques and tools so you'll learn which ones work best for you. Then when life sends you a "red alert," you'll be ready!

Cartoon Themed Ice Hotel in Finland

Decorated in a cartoon-style Snow Castle in Kemi, Finland is the largest snow castle in the world. Each year there is a chapel, restaurant and hotel these are the only unchanging elements of the fortress. But the size, shape and decoration of buildings each year vary. This year, everything is done in cartoon style. Thus, the entire area of the complex is made of intricate carvings and ice sculptures shaped as some of the most beloved cartoon characters. I suggest you all to hurry and visit this place until it gets ruined by global warming.
