I know this is short notice, but we're holding a women's weekend at TLC Campground this coming weekend (Sep 23-25).  No real activities planned, just a time to camp, hang out and relax with other women.  No need to pre-reg, though I'd like to get a rough idea of how many are coming. For more info and pre-registration see our website: www.ratatask.org/WomenInTheWoods.

Today's Goddess:  Rhiannon White Horse Festival (Britain)

Posted by: "Cher Chirichello" CHIC0411@YAHOO.COM   chic0411

Sun Sep 18, 2011 7:50 pm (PDT)

Today's Goddess:  Rhiannon
White Horse Festival (Britain)

Themes:  Movement; Communication; Rest; Ghosts; Fertility; Leadership
Symbols:  White; Horses; Moon

About Rhiannon:  This Celtic horse Goddess rides into our festival calendar today on a white mare
bearing fertility, leadership, and a means to get things moving where they may have stagnated.
Some historians believe the swiftness of her steed (which is white, a lunar color) alludes to a Lunar
Goddess. In stories, Rhiannon commands singing birds that can wake spirits or grant sleep to mortals.

To Do Today: In Britain, people come to Berkshire hillside today to scour the white horse that adorns
the grasses here.  This ancient galloping steed is created from pale clay, and this ritual keeps it, and
Rhiannon's memory, vibrant.  So, if you have any images of horses (magazines, statuary, paintings)
around, dust them off and put them in a place of honor today.

Since this was a festival for horses, you might consider tending to your own "horse", be it a car or bicycle!
Give it a tune-up or oil change, then take a ride!  As you go, visualize yourself on the back of Rhiannon's
horse moving swiftly toward attaining productivity or improved authority wherever you need it.  Alternatively,
wear something silver or white so that Rhiannon's lunar energies can begin filtering into your day through
the color's vibrations.

Faery Message by Mystiblu for September 17-24, 2006~
~Inner Peace~

The Faeries are always asking you to believe in them, but today they're asking you to
believe in yourself and your own inner power!  You just have to trust and know that
you truly do have the power you need to make the right choices and do the right
things in your life and make a big difference! Thinking positive thoughts, speaking
positive words and acting positive, can draw and attract even more positive energy
through you from the Universe to help you and others too. Just like the star that shines
so brightly above, you shine brightly too with all the inner power that shines from within
you! Trust in your true inner power and intuition, shine brightly and know that everything
is going well when you listen to your own inner guidance! You're a Lightworker and this
card has been drawn to ask you to let go of your fear of your power and to honor
yourself by taking care of your physical body, your emotional self, keeping your own
dreams alive and spending time in prayer and meditation so you have peace within
and that your level of self-esteem remains balanced and high. Opportunities will come
your way to expand your power and your guides will help you bring great blessings to
the world!

Affirmation:
It's safe for you to be powerful! I have all the power of the Universe flowing through me and supporting me.

Hestia Hearth Spell

Sun Sep 18, 2011 7:53 pm (PDT)

Hestia Hearth Spell
Incense of the day: Peony

To clean your house call upon the goddess Hestia.
She is goddess of hearth
and home and will aid you in your quest for a clean space.
Starting in
the kitchen, take a broom and sweep a circle going clockwise.

Three
times round go, chanting:

Hestia of the hearth,
Help me banish dust and dirt.
Let chores go fast,
Let grime beware!
Make my space shine With renewed care.

Follow this up with a good cleaning. You will be amazed at how well and how
fast it goes.
Repeat in any room where it is needed.
After you are done,
light a candle and leave out an offering of home-baked bread for
Hestia.

Daily Aromatherapy Tip

Bergamot and Geranium can either sedate or stimulate according to your body's need, something a synthetic drug can never do.
Enjoy!
