Festival of Durga (Hindu)
Themes: Power over Evil and Negativity; Knowledge; Sustenance.
Symbols: Fire; Yellow-colored Items; Lion; Rice; Bowl and Spoon
About Durga: The Hindu warrior goddess Durga is typically depicted as a beautiful
woman with ten arms that bear divine weapons to protect all that is
sacred - including you. Her role in Indian mythology is so powerful that the national anthem sings her praises as guardian. According to the
stories, Durga overpowered the great demon who threatened to destroy not only the earth but the gods themselves.
To Do Today: Durga's festival comes during the early fall, when the skies are
growing darker. As this happens, she offer to zealously defend goodness
against any malevolence that dwells in those figurative shadows. If
there is a special person or project that you want protected, pray for
Durga's aid today. Light a yellow candle (or any candle) and say,
"Durga, protection and guardian, watch over ____(person, situation, or project) with all due diligence,
Take the sword of truth, the power of justice, and the light of decency to stand guard against any storms that come.
So be it."
Blow out the candle and relight it anytime you need safety. To encourage Durga's providence, set out a bowl of rice on your
altar with a spoon today. This is the symbol of Annapurna, an aspect of Durga who supplies daily food.

Chinese Moon Festival Spell
Incense of the day: Chrysanthemum
The Chinese Moon
Festival is celebrated all over China and by Chinese people worldwide
this month of September. As it is a festival of lights, people gather
firecrackers and glowing lanterns, and they serve special foods now.
Moon cakes and special rice cakes shaped like moons are offered only at
this time of the year. The origins of the Chinese Moon Festival can be
traced to the fourteenth century, when Mongol rulers threatened to
overtake China. The native Chinese fought back with a full rebellion.
The time and date of attacks and troop movements were hidden in the rice cakes that were distributed among the loyal Chinese. In this way, they
averted their would-be conquerers. Fortune cookies may have gotten their beginnings here as well!

How else but in custom and ceremony are innocence and beauty born?

Ceremony enables transition. Rituals of initiation, such as baptism and graduation;
seasonal rituals; rituals of prayer and remembrance; dedication rituals, such as marriage;
protective rituals in which we invoke our guardian spirits- all these help create a sacred link
between us and Spirit, conferring special grace. Ceremony does not have to be dramatic
or wordy, and it need not involve a cast of thousands.
The constituents of a ceremony are simple:
The need or impulse for ritual
Space and time dedicated to the ceremony
The intentioned, sacred use of objects, elements and expressive and apposite means
of music/speech/silence/meditati on
A role for everyone participating, if appropriate
A space of silence or emptiness in which divine interaction can happen
A clear statement of the purpose at the beginning and a thank you afterward
A point at which celebrants remember and include the rest of the universe, especially
those who share their need
Ceremony can happen in any suitable place: our own home is our hearth and shrine, and as
such is quite suitable for personal ceremonies. In times of transition, new ceremonies that
meet the needs of a society are urgently needed, so that innocence and beauty- the currency
of Spirit- can flow into our lives.
Choose a real need in your life. Devise a short and simple ceremony that will address that need
practically. (Examples of needs include beginning a new job, preparing for retirement, cleansing
the home after a burglary, adjusting to children leaving home, and entering the hospital.)

I invoke you humbly from your shrine
whose great roof lifts toward your Heavenly Plain.

The ruler has asked me to beg abundance of you,
and long life, and peace, and prosperity,
for common people as well as noble ones.
And so we offer these prayers, and these first fruits,
and this fresh wine, all reverently prepared.
On this fall morning, I praise you humbly,
as I watch you rise in all your glory.

This is the traditional day of the Kiku no Sekku, the Chrysanthemum Festival of Japan.
In the Japanese seasonal calendar, the chrysanthemum symbolizes autumn, for it blooms
at this time when other flowers are long past. The first fruits of harvest are celebrated on this
day with much joviality and joy.
The chrysanthemum is a plant that flourishes more fully if it is pinched back in spring and early
summer. Otherwise, it grows leggy, producing long stems and few flowers. To pinch back the
plant, the gardener must slightly and briefly damage the plant's growing shoots in hopes that
the chrysanthemum will respond by growing more vigorously, reaching outward rather than upward.
How many of us have responded to early damage in the same way - by growing more thickly,
by making more flowers than we might otherwise have done? No one should hurt another, but those
who are hurt and yet survive should praise themselves for doing so.

Hello All!
So here we are already into September. Wow. I hope you all enjoyed your summer and were not severely effected by the storms. Other than my little foot bridge being washed away, I did ok. Sad for those that had so much damage. Crazy weather.
As for the summer, I embraced it, dove into my alone time and enjoyed. I did very little promoting of my services and spent a lot of time envisioning what is to come next in my professional life. I even did a trip to Machu Pichu which really fed my soul!
So there will be new things this year. New workshops. Cool events. And hopefully lots of community building. Keep your eyes posted and please share with your friends.

We will be teaching about the shadow and why shadow work can transform old patterns. Also, there will be exercises and visualizations to introduce you to the four archetypes: warrior, sovereign, magician and lover.
November 5th and 6th, 10-5 both days is for people who have attended shadow work before and want to dive deeper. We will build the container to create a supportive safe atmosphere and then give people opportunities to look at different patterns in their life. Individual carpet work will be offered and transformation will be abundant! Both days are required for attend.

Good morning, everyone, and a Happy Tuesday and Day of Mars (Day of Taking Decisive Action) to all of you! I hope and pray that all of you had a lovely, relaxing and Prosperous weekend.

It is a special event at which I have conducted Readings for several years, and it is the only public venue during which the fees for Readings with me are at their lowest: $20 for fifteen minutes and $40 for half-an-hour. I do not offer this fee at any other public venue, and the fees for private Readings with me are much higher than that. Sunday, October 16, 2011, 12-3PM--I AM back at Seasonal Health to led my very second, as opposed to my very first "Love Healing Event." This Event is all about healing the deep, emotional wounds that prevent you from both giving and receiving Divine Love. This Event shall feature Guided Meditations, a conversation about blockages to Love in all its forms as well as a Ritual Invocation calling upon Divine Healing Energies to dissolve said energy blockages. Sunday, October 23, 2011, 10AM-5PM--On this date, I have the honor and pleasure of leading my very second, as opposed to my very first "Prosperity Intensive for Permanent Prosperity." I led this once before, and it was something else! This time, it shall be even more powerful. This is like one of my Prosperity and Abundance Events for Abundant Finances, times four!
