Are You a SLIder?

Are You a SLIder? Street Lamp and Other Electromagnetic
Interference

Until I started researching the subject of street lamp interference, I didn't realize I was a SLIder. SLIder is the name given to anyone who experiences the effects of street lamp interference and related phenomena.

Sure, I'd driven under certain streetlights that would go out at the same time that I drove by. In fact, it happened quite frequently on a street where I used to live, but I figured it was just that I got home from work at the hour that the light was timed to switch off.

The phenomenon, which is much researched in Britain but given little attention by American parapsychologists, is not fully explained by the issue of timing. electrical engineers, when posed the question, will agree that some streetlights switch on and off at regular intervals--especially when they're running out of energy.

Another explanation they have offered is that a car's headlights approaching a streetlight may be bright enough to "fool" the lamp's sensors into thinking it's daylight, hence shutting it off. Of course, this explanation does not hold up when compared to some accounts of lights switching off after people merely walked beneath them, or of lights spontaneously switching on for no good reason.

Some SLIders claim they can affect the phenomenon at will--extending it to the spontaneous turning on or off of televisions, radios, and computers.

Phyllis Galde, editor of FATE magazine, has mentioned that this phenomenon has happened to her, but as with many other American parapsychologists, she didn't know it had a name. the term "SLIder" was coined by British paranormal researcher Hilary Evans, founder of the Association for the Scientific Study of Anomalous Phenomena (ASSAP). He founded Project SLIDE, or the Street Lamp Interference Data Exchange. Evans has experienced the street light phenomena many times in his native London. though he has had no "spooky" feelings while experiencing SLI, he has collected reports from many other experiencers who have. Accounts range from one man who claims the phenomenon started happening to him only after he'd had a severe injury of an electrical origin. Another experiencer states that street light interference only happens to her when she is in a highly emotional state or under extreme stress.

Most parapsychologists who have studied the phenomenon think it is related to other electromagnetic phenomena, such as the inability of some people to wear watches. L the human body, like all other objects that essentially run on electricity, has an electromagnetic field around it. Some peoples' electromagnetic fields cause traditional watches to slow down and eventually stop working over time.

My grandfather used to say he couldn't wear a watch. His watches would eventually stop if he wore them every day. I can't wear a traditional watch without it slowing down and eventually stopping, so I was delighted when the new digital watches appeared. They seem impervious to such interference, at least from me.

Then came computers, and guess what? Sometimes the mere presence of a SLIder in a room with computers is enough to interfere with their function. One of my students was the computer tech at one of the first computer labs I used in teaching. After a few weeks of using the lab, he began to swear that whenever I came into the lab, I disrupted the functions of the computers! Nowadays, more modern computers don't seem to be as affected by SLIders when they are in the room. Perhaps new advances in shielding computers from outside electromagnetic radiation explains this change.

Still, during the writing of this article, a friend told me that he has inexplicably "blown out" a rand new computer--the third one assigned to him at his work place so far. His fellow workers are now considering him a computer jinx. After he told me that he has experienced the streetlight phenomenon as well, I dubbed him a fellow SLIder.

My research shows that SLIders often exhibit all three types of phenomena recounted here, including sometimes disrupting the magnetic strips on their credit and debit cards!

If we take these phenomena as a group, they all seem to lead us back to the idea of disruptions in electromagnetic fields. Eerie though the phenomena may seem, there is probably a scientific explanation that some day will be proven in the lab. Perhaps sometime in the future we SLIders can look forward to getting our electromagnetic fields "adjusted"--the way a chiropractor "adjusts" the spine--so that we no longer affect streetlights and other electrical and magnetic devices.

Until then, I guess we'll just keep SLIding along, and keeping the digital watch companies in business---When we can get our credit cards to work, that is!

Witch Rosary

Posted by: "Lady Nightshayde" LadyNightshayde9@aol.com   nightshayde99

Sun Sep 25, 2011 10:54 am (PDT)

Witch Rosary

Made in the form of a necklace or belt, the Witch Rosary is a consecrated Amulet that serves a triple function.

It gives Amuletic power to the wearer.

It serves as a 'reminder' in the performance of certain Spells, in the same manner as Arabic or Christian rosaries.

It contains Stones that can be removed and used singly in magic operations.

The Witch Rosary may be made in two forms.

1) As a string of beads, each of which is a Stone with certain magical properties, and which may be removed from their settings at will (this type is rather expensive).

2) Or in the form of a belt or necklace with leather pouches, each of which contains one of the Stones.

The Witch Rosary ends in an Ankh, worn as a pendant if it is a necklace or worn as a buckle if it is a belt.

The components of a Witch Rosary are:

1) Moonstone (The Moon)
2) Hematite (Fire)
3) Crystal Quartz (Air)
4) Earth Stone (Earth)
5) Lapis Lazuli (Water)
6) Amber (Sun)
7) Birthstone (Stars)
8) Ankh, as pendant or buckle

Substitutions may be made as follows;

1) Opal, Mother of Pearl
2) Flame Agate
3) Crystal
4) Emerald
5) Blue Amethyst
6) Chrysolite
7) Gem with a Natural Star
8) No substitute for the Ankh

If worn as a necklace, the stones may be separated by knots in the cord, or there may be three silver beads between each stone. If it is worn as a belt, there may be three wooden beads between each of the leather pouches that holds a stone; these wooden beads may in turn be separated by knots in the leather cord (usually), if a cord is used.

The Witch's Rosary can be worn in the world, for it will pass as an unusual belt or necklace.

It is said that many Witch's liked to wear them when they expect to encounter hostile forces or possible enemies. It may be worn externally, seen by the world, or under the Witch's garments, invisibly.

Caloria, Fall Goddess of Potluck

Posted by: "Lady Nightshayde" LadyNightshayde9@aol.com   nightshayde99

Sun Sep 25, 2011 11:51 am (PDT)

Caloria, Fall Goddess of Potluck

Potlucks are vitally important to Witches and other Pagans. Going to a ritual? Take something to eat afterward. Going to a drumming circle or a Croning? The folks are sure to work up an appetite.

But the question is: What to take? How to accommodate vegetarians, carnivores, omnivores, and ecofeminists in this crazy modern world?

True to goddess tradition, Caloria is a triple goddess. Low Caloria, who is dwarfish and simple, is our Virgin Vegetarian. Although her favorite dish is a casserole of brown rice, tofu, and lima beans, she has recently admitted that she is beginning to appreciate such gourmet fare as wild mushroom couscous and anything made with pasta, asparagus, or aubergine.

High Caloria, our Bountiful Mother, is luscious and delicious. Her greatest delight is to serve her children the yummy cheesecake baked by her high priestess, Sara Lee, or any savory dish whipped up by her high priestess, Rachael Ray. She also adds a tasty topping of pure love to any of the treats that arise from the ovens and barbecues of her many priests, who include Emeril, Chef Boy-Ar-Dee, and all the good ol' boys on the cooking channel. High Caloria especially enjoys the glorious desserts created by Chocolata, one of the Found Goddesses of Ecstasy.

Eco-Caloria is she who inspires her grandchildren to eat off of china plates and drink out of glasses and china cups instead of using paper goods. Thus does she help us preserve the virgin forests and the Styrofoam mines.

When we know we're going to a potluck, therefore, always begin by invoking the goddess Caloria as follows:

Hail, Caloria, you who freeze and thaw and bake,
Show me, please, the proper food to take.

At the potluck, correct protocol is for every potential eater to carefully examine and comment on each offering. Then we join hands around the groaning table and give thanks to the goddess:

Hail Caloria, rich and wise--
Feed my soul, but not my thighs.

To learn what offering we may lay on the sacred potluck table, we next enter the goddess;s sacred precinct and approach her sacred cave. As we open the door to the sacred cave and the inner light comes on, we take up or sacred plastic lidded bowl and look within for inspiration. It's easy to recognize when the goddess makes her will known, for then we feel the chill of her presence.

An alternative ritual honoring Caloria involves visiting her sacred marketplace and silently worshipping at he holy deli until one of the votaries of the goddess asks if they can help us. The votaries may, in fact, make suggestions. Proper protocol suggests the exchange of coins for culinary offerings prepared in situ.

Parthegenia

Posted by: "Lady Nightshayde" LadyNightshayde9@aol.com   nightshayde99

Sun Sep 25, 2011 11:54 am (PDT)

Parthegenia

Whisper her name three times and you'll have that unsettling retrieval sensation: Where have I heard that before? I'm certain I have. Parthegenia.

Don't check your Edith Hamilton. And no, she doesn't show up even as a footnote in The Goddesses in Every Woman. Don't bother to look.

In ancient times Parthegenia was banished, like some immortal Romeo, to an unidentified cave on Mount Olympus. The others in that clique swore never to utter her name--to x her out of the Grecian heavenly host.

The Goddess of Asexual reproduction (among other powers), banished? Seems unlikely. Why would the Olympians, who thrive on backbiting and bickering, cast out lovely Parthegenia, that primo example of divine womanliness. That mons Venus, begging to be mounted; those breasts, ripe for nurturing; those lips of love, ever so capable of breeding and birthing.

Jealousy wasn't the cause, I assure you; that crowd thrives on jealousy. It's one of those petty human emotions they suffer along with their unearthly powers; the tension that's kept the celestial soap opera going on all of these ages. But there lies the rub, too, for our cast-aside goddess: Fear, the garden variety human sort, that's what made the other holinesses try to suppress Parthegenia. It would throw the whole male/female dynamic out of whack if one was as self-sufficient as Parthegenia, the reasoning went at the hearing in the Temple to Dionysius. The decision was unanimous: she couldn't stay. Even her name had to be expunged from myths and legends.

You can see why the dodgy male gods like Zeus and the envious female goddesses like Hera (the uncertain demigods and goddesses never uttered a word) put her in some Olympian witness protection program to make her disappear, make her apocryphal at best, obliterate her from all the Greek plays at the very least. For centuries, audiences have known someone was missing from The Trojan Women; we couldn't quite unlock the memory cell to figure out the problem...

Cast out by Hera, who made no bones about loving sex and hating beautiful females; and Zeus, who'd take any form to get his goodies off. Even Athena and Aphrodite wouldn't speak her part, though they couldn't speak against her, either.

How could Parthegenia reproduce by herself? So independent, so self-aware, so UN-needy? Imagine the unrest such self-sufficiency could cause on Olympus, not to mention among mortals. Nope, she had to go.

But they didn't factor in one of her other everlasting traits, stubbornness; she will not be erased from our collective memory. From afar Parthegenia refused to be swept under the magic carpet, have her mysterious energy rubbed out.

Mick Jagger didn't quite work. Joan of Arc got closer. But think about parthegenic snails. Don't ignore earthworms--not her most elegant creation; call them a work in progress, an experiment gone awry. Still every basic biology student, male and female, examines them, wonders How is this possible? Such wonder and curiosity have kept Parthegenia animated at the edge of our consciousness.

Recently, the hammerhead shark and Komodo dragon have stunned modern science with their ability to reproduce asexually in captivity--That's Parthegenia at work. Labeling it an evolutionary step forward is bogus. She's gotten stronger as she's seen contemporary mortal women strive for her procreative powers, her independence. We've conjured her.

It's likely she came to Gloria Steinem in a vision, served as must to Naomi Wolf, took possession of Hillary Clinton in the midst of the Bill/Monica fiasco. The evidence certainly suggests she's made forays into female consciousness through the centuries. Go ahead, explain Emily Dickinson and the suffragettes without her.

Lucky for us, Parthegenia lives. In my writing group, one woman is re-creating the women of ages past who lived alone and kept the lighthouse flares burning. Another explores open marriage. A third envisions new galaxies. Parthegenia will not, cannot, be stifled or silenced by Hera, Jonathan Edwards, Doctor Laura, or even Dick Cheney. She's part of the mitochondria of every woman on earth, hidden inside some powerful cell packet, ready to replace longing with creative action. To create and re-create, create, re-create. All by herself. Don't be afraid to say her name, go ahead: Parthegenia.

Eleven Things Every Witch Should Kow

Posted by: "Lady Nightshayde" LadyNightshayde9@aol.com   nightshayde99

Sun Sep 25, 2011 12:01 pm (PDT)

Eleven Things Every Witch Should Know

1. Magic is what happens when you open yourself to the Divine. All real
magic is a manifestation of the Divine - it is how you co-create reality
with deity.

2. The Divine is within you and is everywhere present in the natural
world. And everything is interconnected by this sacred energy.

3. Witchcraft is not about information -- it's about transformation, so
practice, practice, practice -- and do it as much as possible in
Nature! Witchcraft enables you to commune with divinity and to manifest
your destiny, your desires and your highest and sacred self.

4. The real ethics of how Witches live and practice magic are
simple: Witches live in a sacred manner because we live in a sacred
world. We therefore treat all of life with reverence and respect.

5. Because all magic flows from our connection to the Sacred, our lives
and our magic, must be guided by the sacred nature of the energy with
which we work.

6. The energy Witches work with is not neutral -- it is divine love.

7. Magic often works in unexpected way because it is not a mechanical
process, and the Universe is not a machine. You are living and making
magic within a divine, organic, living reality.

8. Witches don't command and control -- they commune and co-create.

9. The real secret of successful spell casting, as with all of magic, is
your connection to the Divine power that dwells within you, and
surrounds you. And spells do work so be careful what you ask for!

10. Nature makes the Divine tangible. By working, living, and practicing
your magic in harmony with Nature, you are in harmony with the Divine.

11. The ultimate teacher is the God/Goddess inside you and in the world
of nature all around you.

it is because of yahoo and some of there severs have been put on
blacklist for spam since yahoo does load balancing they spread the
emails out over all there email servers
so when an email leaves a blacklisted server it is bounced back. I get
this all the time as I run my own email server yahoo could fix this by
stopping spam but alas they don't care

Daily Feng Shui Tip for Sunday, Sept. 25

Daily Feng Shui Tip by Ellen Whitehurst for Sunday, September 25

It's 'Gold Star Mother's Day' so let's draw her a bath that will gift her with the proverbial silver lining. This bath uses milk as a main ingredient, and while most milk is now pasteurized, it still retains mystical qualities for magical uses. Milk has long been considered a gift from the gods, one that enhances your own abilities to give and receive love. This result can occur whether you're bathing in it or drinking it with chocolate syrup. This particular bath recipe promises to calm, restore and revivify that gold star mom's body, mind and spirit. The addition of fresh mint and parsley to the bath adds a pinch of personal empowerment. The milk offers a softened perspective while the honey brings sweetness. Add one-half cup each of honey and whole milk to a bath. You can also add one cup Epsom salts, three crushed fresh mint leaves and a few sprigs of fresh parsley. As comforting as mother's milk. Literally.

The light of a hundred stars cannot equal the light of the Moon.

Subject: [13Witches] Date Miner Virus

Greetings to the members.  I wanted to let all of you know about a problem I encountered this past Tuesday.

I was searching for Halloween wallpapers and clicked on a site from a google search.  A virus launched immediately and would not allow me to disable any programs or exit the site.  My computer tech (my son-in-law Tim) was out of town and was unable to work on it even though he is my SystemAdmin.  He spent all day today working on my computer, and told me it was a data miner that destroyed most of my programs and files.  He had to put all the programs back on my computer, and told me to be careful about what sites I visit.

So, be careful about free sites, they nearly always come with a rice.

Merry Meet all,

I have a question regarding personal protection. There is a person falsely accusing me of stealing from them and this person is mentally unstable and has a history of being dangerous...assaulting others, namely.
The local police say that there is nothing they can do unless and until "something weird happens". I have been harassed a few times so far.
i would like to know if there are any good spells/magick I can do to help keep myself safe. I do not have money to buy many supplies if they are needed.
Any help would be appreciated.

Merry Part,

Elder's Meditation of the Day

"Even the trees have spirits - everything has a spirit."

-- Mary Hayes, CLAYOQUOT

The trees are great teachers. The trees are great listeners. That is why we should meditate in their presence. The Great spirit is in every rock, every animal, every human being, and in every tree. The Great Spirit has been in some trees for hundreds of years. Therefore, the trees have witnessed and heard much. The trees are the Elders of the Elders. Their spirits are strong and very healing.

Great Spirit, teach me respect for all spiritual things.

Definitions
The Washington Post asked readers to take any word from the dictionary... alter it by adding, subtracting, or changing one letter... and supply a new definition!

1) Intaxication: Euphoria at getting a tax refund, which lasts until you realize it was your money to start with.

2) Reintarnation: Coming back to life as a hillbilly.

3) Giraffiti: Vandalism spray-painted very, very high.

4) Sarchasm: The gulf between the author of sarcastic wit and the person who doesn't get it.

5) Inoculatte: To take coffee intravenously when you are running late.

6) Hipatitis: Terminal coolness.

7) Karmageddon: It's like, when everybody is sending off all these really bad vibes, right? And then, like, the Earth explodes and it's like, a serious bummer.

8) Dopeler effect: The tendency of stupid ideas to seem smarter when they come at you rapidly.

Nightmare Spell

Posted by: "Lady Nightshayde" LadyNightshayde9@aol.com   nightshayde99

Sun Sep 25, 2011 11:13 pm (PDT)

Nightmare Spell

To protect against recurring nightmares, take three nine-centimeter lengths
of blue embroidery thread. Plait them together, and with each weave, say:

"Goddess, protect me from phantasmagorial harm. Mares scare
elsewhere!"

Now place a twig of rosemary and seven dried chamomile flowers
in a pouch (lemongrass can replace either of these). Use your plaited thread
to tie the pouch at the top, and place it under the pillow. A deep,
untroubled sleep should be ensured for the person who lays their head down
on this bed. Refresh the spell once a month by replacing the ingredients.

Learning Comes Alive at the Cemetery

Posted by: "Lady Nightshayde" LadyNightshayde9@aol.com   nightshayde99

Learning Comes Alive at the Cemetery

People have been visiting cemeteries for generations, of course, but increasingly graveyards are destinations not just for mourners, but for families and students of all ages looking to headstones as records of human history and society. On a cemetery visit, your child will discover fascinating facts, perceive connections, draw conclusions from comparing names and dates, and become more comfortable with this most integral facet of human life and culture.

Before your visit, discuss the ground rules with your child. Explain that since other people may be at the cemetery to pay their respects to deceased loved ones, it is imperative that everyone conduct themselves with dignity. As long as your child walks on the paths and speaks in normal tones, he won't offend anyone.

Bring along a notepad and pencil in case your child wants to record observations, make lists of names or figure ages from birth and death dates. A calculator and magnifying glass may be helpful, too, as well as supplies for making tombstone rubbings.

Rubbing the Past the Right Way

After you get permission from the proper authorities, your child may enjoy collecting rubbings of gravestones. You'll need large, thin sheets of paper, masking tape, a fat wax crayon with the paper removed (or colored chalk), and a paintbrush or whisk broom (for cleaning off any dirt obscuring the words on a gravestone). To make a rubbing, tape the paper tightly over the chosen gravestone and rub the surface with the edge of the crayon until the stone's details show up sharp and clear. Be sure no tape is left behind when your child removes the paper. Have your child note the date and the name of the cemetery where the rubbing was taken. (Ages 4 and up).

Looking for Names and Dates

Help your child to think in terms of unscrambling puzzles as you tour the cemetery. Share the most common gravestone abbreviations: b. for born, yrs.for years and dau.for daughter. Point out that some people's names evolved from occupations, places of origin and parents' names. For instance, the family name of Miller refers to the occupation of milling flour. The family name of Paris suggests French origins. (Ages 5 and up.)

Compare the last names on the older stones with those on more recent graves. Talk about whether the names suggest some changes over the years in residents' countries of origin. Now focus on first names. What used to be the most common ones for men? For women? Are those names still used much? Can your child find any particularly unusual names? (Ages 6 and up.)

Are there any famous people buried in the cemetery? You and your child might come upon some well-known names on your own. In some communities, maps are available that direct tourists to the resting places of historical figures or celebrities. (Ages 7 and up.)

Try to locate the stones at the opposite ends of time: the one with the oldest dates and the one with the most recent dates. (Ages 5 and up.)

Compare gravestones of males and females to determine who tends to live longer. Did more husbands outlive wives, or vice versa? Does it appear that adult life expectancy has changed over the years? Is there a preponderance of headstones from one particular year? Work with your child to figure out why that might have happened. Could there have been an epidemic? A war? A natural disaster? (Ages 8 and up.)

Learning About Relationships and Beliefs

Looking at the gravestones of previous generations, what seems to have been the average number of children in a typical family? Do gravestones tell you anything about whether this number has increased or decreased?

What can your child deduce about changing family relationships by
observing the gravestones of individual families? How large did extended families used to be? What about today? Is it easy to find grandparents, great-grandparents and grandchildren buried near one another? (Ages 8 and up.)

Encourage your child to notice the variety of symbols engraved on
headstones. These may include angels, lambs, hearts, flowers, heraldic designs or specific religious symbols. Common themes include the passing of time, shortness of life, resurrection of the soul, and occupation of the deceased. For instance, birds stand for the soul, trees for paradise or eternal life, angels for heaven, willow trees for mourning, trumpets for victory, and anchors for hope. Also look for hourglasses (life passing), candles (life snuffed by death), bells (tolling for the dead) and fruits (fertility and abundance). (See the Resources box for an Internet site that lists and defines these symbols.) (Ages 8 and up.)

Digging Deeper: Related Investigations

Like everything else, monument designs go in and out of fashion. Notice, for example, the massive floral designs that were popular at the turn of the 20th century, or Egyptian motifs that were stylish in the 1920s. After the 1960s, a new freedom allowed quite a range of monument styles, and these days you're likely to discover very personal remembrances, from a surfboard to a color photo of the departed, encased in lucite and embedded in the granite. At some gravesites, you may even be greeted by the recorded voice of the deceased. (Ages 9 and up.)

Compare the styles of graves and headstones. Discuss how a headstone or marker can reflect a person's social status. What can you infer about a person or family from the kind of headstone chosen? For instance, more elaborate headstones-- the ones with statues or ornate carvings-- might suggest wealth and high status. However, wealthy or prominent people sometimes choose simpler headstones because they have simple tastes or dislike ostentation. (Ages 9 and up.)

Break the Powers of a Spell

Break the Powers of a Spell

If you believe that a spell has been cast against you, place a large black candle in the cauldron (or a large black bowl). The candles must be tall enough to extend a few inches above the cauldron's rim. Affix the candle to the bottom of the cauldron with warmed beeswax or the drippings of another black candle so that it will not tip over.

Fill the cauldron to the rim with fresh water, without wetting the candle's wick. An inch or two should remain above the water. Deeply breathe, meditate, clear your mind and light the candle. Visualize the suspected spell's power as residing within the candle's flame. Sit in quiet contemplation of the candle and visualize the power flowing and growing within the candle's flame. (Yes, the power against you) As the candle burns down, its flame will eventually sputter and go out as it contacts the water. As soon as the flame has been extinguished by the water, the spell
will be dispersed.

Break your visualization of the spell's power; see it explode into dust, becoming impotent.

Pour the water into a hole in the ground, a lake or stream. Bury the candle. It is done.

The light of a hundred stars cannot equal the light of the Moon.

Spell to Protect Your Book of Shadows

Posted by: "Lady Nightshayde" LadyNightshayde9@aol.com   nightshayde99

Spell to Protect Your Book of Shadows

This is a spell that will protect and bless your Book of Shadows. In
this waxing Moon phase you can visualize the pages of your book growing
thick with wisdom and witchery. Set the book up on your work space,
light a few candles, get your favorite incense going, and set a magical
mood. Now ground and center yourself. Raise your energy high, and then
hold your hands palms down over the book. Repeat the charm while you
empower the book with the powers of the four elements, knowledge,
wisdom, and illumination.

"As the Moon does
Grow fuller and fuller each night,
My Book of Shadows grows too, in
Knowledge and light.
By earth, air, sky,
And sea, as above
Now so below,
The elemental powers spin and my magic holds."

Native American Code of Ethics

Posted by: "Lady Nightshayde" LadyNightshayde9@aol.com   nightshayde99

Native American Code of Ethics

1. Rise with the sun to pray. Pray alone. Pray often. The Great Spirit will listen, if you only speak.

2. Be tolerant of those who are lost on their path. Ignorance, conceit, anger, jealousy and greed stem from a lost soul. Pray that they will find guidance.

3. Search for yourself, by yourself. Do not allow others to make your path for you. It is your road, and yours alone. Others may walk it with you, but no one can walk it for you.

4. Treat the guests in your home with much consideration. Serve them the best food, give them the best bed and treat them with respect and honor.

5. Do not take what is not yours whether from a person, a community, the wilderness or from a culture. It was not earned nor given. It is not yours.

6. Respect all things that are placed upon this earth -- whether it be people or plant.

7. Honor other people's thoughts, wishes and words. Never interrupt another or mock or rudely mimic them. Allow each person the right to personal expression.

8. Never speak of others in a bad way. The negative energy that you put out into the universe will multiply when it returns to you.

9. All persons make mistakes. And all mistakes can be forgiven.

10. Bad thoughts cause illness of the mind, body and spirit. Practice optimism.

11. Nature is not FOR us, it is a PART of us. They are part of your worldly family.

12. Children are the seeds of our future. Plant love in their hearts and water them with wisdom and life's lessons. When they are grown, give them space to grow.

13. Avoid hurting the hearts of others. The poison of your pain will return to you.

14. Be truthful at all times. Honesty is the test of ones will within this universe.

15. Keep yourself balanced. Your Mental self, Spiritual self, Emotional self, and Physical self -- all need to be strong, pure and healthy. Work out the body to strengthen the mind. Grow rich in spirit to cure emotional ails.

16. Make conscious decisions as to who you will be and how you will react. Be responsible for your own actions.

17. Respect the privacy and personal space of others. Do not touch the personal property of others -- especially sacred and religious objects. This is forbidden.

18. Be true to yourself first. You cannot nurture and help others if you cannot nurture and help yourself first.

19. Respect others religious beliefs. Do not force your belief on others.

20. Share your good fortune with others. Participate in charity.

The light of a hundred stars cannot equal the light of the Moon.

Autumn

Autumn

Harvest

Bring it in
Bring it home
Crunchy cackling ghosty shadows
Sort the seeds and berries
Gather what the witches love
Leave a little by the bush
To feed the Forest Faeries

The Autumn Equinox heralds the "Season of the Witch." A time when the life-force energy is returning to the roots in preparation for the deliciously inner recesses of Winter. In our human lives Autumn signals a time to clarify and integrate what we gathered from our Summer experiences, determining what is valuable, wise, wondrous and useful, as well as learning to let go of what is not.

Using your journal, explore what's going on in your life at this time, judging and acting on your own behalf--your own be-wholing, what is best for you!

The following is a good, simple recipe-ritual for letting go. Gather lengths of natural fiber rope, thick and thin, long and short, each one corresponding to a particular issue that you are addressing and releasing. Be specific. Do not use a person's name, but name what it is that binds you to that person, speaking strongly and assuredly aloud. Then, one by one, with a pair of scissors, cut each length into smaller and smaller pieces until you can't recognize it as rope.

As you cut, say what it is you are releasing or disconnecting from. For example: "My past holds no power over me. I disconnect easily from the haunting and hurt. I no longer need to linger on it." When you are finished, bury the cut-up pieces along with your favorite flower bulbs: tulips, daffodils, hyacinths, etc. If you live in an apartment, find a wooded place or an empty lot. Wait to see what blossoms anew in the Spring.
