How To Get Rid of Athlete's Foot. Natural Treatment Athlete's Foot Home Remedy for Tinea.
Athlete's foot, or what is commonly called tinea, is a painful fungal disease which usually strikes the feet. Athletes foot is a rather simple disease to get rid of with natural home remedies.

The best remedy for athlete's foot is to avoid the disease in the first place. Wash your feet regularly, wear clean socks, preferably made from cotton which allows the feet o breathe and always dry your feet well after having a shower, swimming or other sporting activities.

Wearing sandals to reduce moisture accumulation

How To Cure Athlete's Foot
Athletes foot or tinea can be caused by many things such as using public showers, not washing you feet daily or dirty footwear and socks. Always ensure you keep a high personal hygiene level and keep your feet as dry as possible. Athlete's foot, or tinea pedis, is a common skin infection that is caused by a fungus. This fungus eats old skin cells, so making sure your feet are bathed regularly eliminates the dead skin cells.

Below we have a collection of natural home remedies to stop tenea in it's tracks. Most are low cost remedies with products that are in most home medicine cabinets and laundries.

Get Rid Of Athletes Foot With Apple Cider VinegarThe acid in vinegar will kill the fungi that causes athletes foot and heal the area quickly. Add a few tablespoons of apple cider vinegar into a foot bath of warm water and soak the feet for 10 minutes. Dry your feet well with a clean towel, especially between the toes. Do this for a few days and your tinea will quickly heal.

Cure Tinea and Athlete's Foot With Tea Tree Oil Tea Tree Oil is a natural enemy of bacteria and fungi and will kill all harmful effects of Athletes Foot. Rub tea tree oil into the feet and between the toes twice a day. Allow to dry naturally before putting on socks and shoes. Apply tea tree oil daily after bathing.

Treat Athlete's Foot with Hydrogen PeroxideSimply dab on some hydrogen peroxide to the affected area. It may sting at first and you may see it start to bubble. This means it's working. Use this 3 times a day and you'll see improvements within a couple of days.

Clear Up Athlete's Foot Using Bleach As a home remedy, bleach will get rid of the fungus which caused athlete's foot from your shower or bath, socks and footwear. First thing to do is wash all your floors, bath, shower ect with bleach. Then wash all your socks and sneakers with bleach. Finally Bleach is a good antiseptic agent so soak your feet in a foot bath of warm water with a couple of capfuls of bleach.

Healing Athlete's Foot With Epsom Salts Make a foot bath with 2 tablespoons of Epsom Salts in warm water. The Epsom Salts will kill the fungi and your feet will feel so good after a soak. Do this daily until the infection has healed. Remember to dry your feet completely, especially between the toes.

Use an Anti Fungal Cream To Get Rid Of TineaWomen normally will have some anti fungal cream in the bathroom or medice cabinet. Products such as Canesten Cream work exceptionally well to clear up Athelete's Foot as well as many other skin irritations.

Spell To Remember A Past Life
Items Needed:

1 white Candle, 1 mirror, Yourself

Set the candle next to the mirror so the light from it can hit your face, but so that you will not see the candle in the mirror.

Turn off the lights and sit in front of the mirror.

After this is done, look into your eyes and say these words:

"Oracle of lunar light, Send me the second sight"

Stare into your eyes and try not to blink. Your reflection will dissolve and another will appear. Try to look at the face, body, clothing and surroundings. After you do this, you will have emotions that you can not explain. Don't worry, they will go away in a few minutes.

You may have to say these words a few times and stare into your reflection for a while. Remember to concentrate.

Acne Remedies
Here's a look at some of the more commonly recommended acne remedies.
1) Tea Tree Oil
Tea tree oil is a popular home remedy for acne. It is an essential oil that is diluted and applied topically to acne lesions.

How is tea tree oil believed to work? Tea tree oil contains a constituent called terpinen-4-ol that's thought to be responsible for most of tea tree oil's anti-bacterial activity. Because tea tree oil can kill bacteria, applying topical tea tree oil to acne lesions is believed to kill Propionibacterium acnes, the skin-dwelling bacteria involved in acne. Read more about tea tree oil and acne: Tea Tree Oil for Acne and learn more about Tea Tree Oil.
2) Low Glycemic Load Diet
A dietary factor that has been linked with acne is foods with a high glyemic load, such as sweetened fruit juice, sugary beverages, candy, white rice or pasta, french fries, baked potatoes, low-fiber cereals, macaroni and cheese, pizza, and raisins and dates. High glycemic load foods affect levels of the hormones insulin and insulin-like growth factor-1, which increases the production of androgen hormones and may stimulate the development of acne.

Instead of high-glycemic load foods, choose lower-glycemic foods such as beans, fruits and vegetables, high-fiber cereals, nuts, and whole grain breads. Some people may have a sensitivity to gluten or wheat, in which case gluten-free or wheat-free foods should be substituted.
3) Reducing Dairy Intake
There is evidence that dairy products may be linked with acne. Milk naturally contains androgens and growth hormones which may stimulate the development of acne. The Nurse's Health Study examined 47,000 nurses and found that those who consumed more milk when they were teenagers had higher rates of severe acne than those who drank little or no milk as teenagers.

Although there are many dairy-free milk substitutes, such as rice milk, be sure to choose unsweetened products (or avoid them altogether), because the added sugar in some of these products may have an adverse effect on acne.
4) Zinc
Zinc is another popular home remedy for acne. Preliminary research suggests that zinc may help to improve acne inflammation.

Zinc is a mineral that's found naturally in oysters, red meat, poultry, beans, nuts, certain types of seafood, whole grains, and fortified cereals. Zinc is also available as a nutritional supplement.
For adults, the tolerable upper intake limit is 40mg. It's important to check all of your supplements for zinc content (it is added to multivitamins and cold and flu remedies), because excessive zinc intake may result in zinc toxicity and nausea, appetite loss, vomiting, cramps, headaches, and diarrhea. Intakes higher than 150 mg have been associated with decreased levels of copper, reduced immune function, and reduced levels of HDL ("good") cholesterol. Zinc may also interfere with the absorption of magnesium from food.

Both quinolone antibiotics (such as Cipro®) and tetracycline antibiotics (such as Achromycin® and Sumycin®) interact with zinc in the gastrointestinal tract, inhibiting the absorption of both zinc and the antibiotic [81,82]. Taking the antibiotic at least 2 hours before or 4–6 hours after taking a zinc supplement minimizes this interaction [83].

Zinc should not be taken together with quinolone antibiotics (such as Cipro) or tetracycline antibiotics, because taking them together can inhibit the absorption of both zinc and the antibiotic. To minimize the effect, zinc should be taken at least 4-6 hours before or 2 hours after taking an antibiotic, or zinc supplements should be avoided altogether.
5) Herbs
The herbs dong quai, vitex, and guggul may help to improve acne.

i don't know if this helps anyone else, but i have acne cause by
natural hormone fluctuations. <that time of the month, stress, etc> i had a
woman write a rememdy for it inside of a book i was reading at the time. i
don't know where the book is now, or i'd copy it out word for word, but it
was apple cider vinegar. apply with a cotton ball to affected area daily,
and the next morning, wash with oatmeal soap. I know the reasoning behind
this: the vinegar dried out the acne, the oatmeal soap helps your skin keep
from drying out. -Deardre

Fw: [TheOldWorldWitches] Plants of faeries

Plants of faeries
Plants of great power against and among Faeries are :

Alder
Protected by water spirits
Apple
To ensure good harvests, leave the last apple of your crop for the Apple-Tree-Man.
Ash
Druids wands were made of ash twigs. It also has healing properties. Weak-limbed children were passed through split ash trees which were then bound up. If the tree grew straight, the child would as well. Also may be used as a substitute for Rowan.
Birch
If the spirit of the birch tree (The One With the White Hand) touches a head it leaves a white mark and the person turns insane. If it touches a heart, the person will die.
Blackthorn
Guarded by the Lunantishee.
Bluebell
One who hears a bluebell ring will soon die. A field of bluebells is especially dangerous, as it is intricately interwoven with faerie enchantments.
Cowslips
These are loved and protected by the faeries. They help one to find hidden faerie gold.
Elder
Sometimes is a witch disguised as a tree. Never lay a baby in an elderwood cradle or the faeries will pinch them so they bruise. Burning elder wood is dangerous since it invites the Devil.
Four-leaf clover
It has the power to break fairy spells and, if carried or work in one's hat, allows one to see invisible fairies.
"I'll seek a four-leaved clover
In all the fairy dells,
And if I find the charmed leaf,
Oh, how I'll weave my spells!"
Fern
In Cornwall, the pixies are especially fond of the fern. One tale recounts how a young woman accidently sat on a fern, and instantly a fairy man appeared and forced her to promise to watch over his fairy son, by having her kiss the fern and recite: "For a year and a day I promise to stay." For that time period she was an inhabitant of fairyland.
Foxglove
Name is derived from "Little Folks' Glove". Also called the `thimble of the Fairy old women', Fairy-bell in Ireland, Fairy-fingers in Durham and N. Yorkshire, Fairy-glove in Ireland and Dorcester, Fairies' petticoats in Cheshire, Fairy-thimbles in Cambridge and Norfolk). Florets are worn by faeries as hats and gloves. Supposedly, if a child was shot with elf-shot, the juice of twelve leaves of foxgloves was supposed to cure the ailment (Lady Wilde, p. 203).
Hazel
Celtic legend says it is the receptacle of knowledge; the hazelnut is a symbol of fertility in England.
Mushroom
Marks the boundaries of faerie rings.
Pansies
The flower that was used as a love potion by Oberon, a faerie king thought to have been invented by Shakespeare.
Primroses
Make the invisible visible. Wearing primroses in the proper number is one key into fairyland. A German legend tells how a little girl found a doorway covered in flowers, and touching it with a primrose opened it up, leading into an enchanted castle.. The wrong number means certain doom.
Ragwort
Used as makeshift horses by the faerie.
Rowan
Protects against bad spirits. Used in butter churns so that the butter would not be overlooked by faeries. Bewitched horses may be controlled by a rowan whip. Druids used rowan wood for fires with which they called up spirits whom could be forced to answer questions when rowanberries were spread over the flayed hides of bulls.
St. John's Wort
Achlasan Challumchile (Hypericumpulcrum). A healing herb, this can be used to break fairy spells and to cure illness caused by fairy darts. Ward off fevers, and keep the Fairies from taking people away in their sleep. On the Isle of Man, however, the plant is sacred to fairies, and one should avoid stepping on it lest one be pixy-led by the offended fairies.
Toadstools
Some have poisonous hallucinogenic properties. The Vikings ate it and gain their reputations as berkerkers. In Celtic lore, they are among the food of the gods, as with many red plants. Some toadstools associated with the faerie are Fly Agaric, Yellow Fairy Club, Slender Elf Cap, Dune Pixie-Hood, and Dryad's Saddle.
Trailing Pearlwort
Mothan (Sagina procumbens). Protects its possessor from fire and the attacks of the Fairy women.
Whitethorn
The tree is sacred to the Aos Sí - (the fairy folk of Ireland.)
Wild Thyme
Part of a recipe for a brew to make one see the faeries. The tops of the Wild Thyme must be gathered near the side of a faerie hill.
Willow
At night they uproot themselves and stalk travelers, muttering at them.

Ragwort, Cabbage-stalks, blades of grass, straw: All these were used by the diminutive fairies for impromtu transportation, following the manner of a witch on her broom. The following poem from "The Witch of Fife" illustrates the point:
"The first leet night, quhan the new moon set,
Quhan all was douffe and mirk,
We saddled our naigis wi' the moon-fern leif,
And rode fra Kilmerrin kirk.

Some horses were of the brume-cow framit,
And some of the greine bay tree;
But mine was made of ane humloke schaw,
And a stour stallion was he."

The secret to creativity is knowing how to hide your sources.

i like buying tuna fish, as i like tuna fish. i stocked up at work for if i
had no power. had candles, crackers, tuna fish, individual packets of mayo
and mustand and relish and ranch that i'd been stockpiling from 7-eleven, as
well as juice in the minifridge. granted, if we lost power, i'd have to be
sure to drink anything i opened, but i was ok. i want to get camping
equipment, and learn how to use it all, this way i can camp out at home if
something ever happens to my power. i know they have special solar shower
water holders now for when you go camping, one of my friends was telling me
about it. he does a lot of camping with his kids, and they all know how to
forage the woods for additional goodies and what's not goodies. right now, i
can identify a plant i can use the roots of to make a coffee style drink,
and i know at least one type of weed that grows locally that is safe to eat.
