That's not a bad idea, combining two divinatory tools, to reach ... higher. I'll do it!

Aromatic Cinnamon Charms

Posted by: "Lady Nightshayde" LadyNightshayde9@aol.com   nightshayde99

Aromatic Cinnamon Charms

Cinnamon increases clairvoyance, and apples contain ancient Earth magic. Combing the two produces a fragrant charm that provides protection and increases the effectiveness of spells performed in your home. To make the charm, mix the following ingredients into a stiff dough:

1/4 cup applesauce
4 oz. ground cinnamon

Roll dough to 1/4 inch thickness. Cut with cookie cutters (stars, hearts, circles, and so on). Make a hole in the top of each with a toothpick. Lay the charms on paper towels and allow to dry one or two days. Turn occasionally. Decorate with sparkly fabric paint and pass red threads through the holes for hangers. Cinnamon charms last indefinitely and are not edible.

Daily Feng Shui Tip

Daily Feng Shui Tip by Ellen Whitehurst for Tuesday, September 27

I'll bet if you asked Anne Tyler she would tell you that it's no accident that today is 'World Tourism Day.' This day is dedicated to learning how to effortless travel with only fortune and luck keeping you company. First, be sure to tie nine or 18 inches of red thread, string, yarn or ribbon on the handles of every piece of luggage -- because it's always nice when your bags arrive at the same city as you. And don't forget to download an image of the Mystic Knot, a cosmic travel companion that keeps your trip running smoothly. If you encounter any challenges along your way, simply take out this knot, run the hand you write with over it three times in a clockwise direction and watch the unexpected unravel. Placing a small statue or crystal figurine of a bear in the 'Helpful People' area of your home while you're away will ensure that su casa es his casa and that no one else can claim that right. In Feng Shui, the bear represents masculine energies, and as such he is tasked wit h protecting your space with strength and courage. He is also regarded as a potent charm against any break-in or potential robbery. The bonus inherent here is that having a bear image in this space is also believed to strengthen and encourage good health for the male head of household, especially if he travels a lot. Lastly, put some salt out in the space you will be sleeping in during your time away. A few packages of salt from any diner will do. Leave it out in some sort of open container and it will absorb any negativity left behind by 'predecessor' energies. So, go ahead and do any or all of these travel cures the next time you become a world tourist. You just might find what a long, strange trip it's been!

The light of a hundred stars cannot equal the light of the Moon.

Love Each Day,
Lady Nightshayde

I have a few yes. A knight that is posted by my bed, my grandson, my parents and a grandmother that I was very close to.When I first moved in,there were 4 unknown spirits that followed me  when I moved in here. There was another that came through the nexus,I had no clue who she was; but she got a bit too close for my comfort. I also have spirits that thinks harassing my cat is the most fun they have had in who knows how long.

I have two in the apartment we rent. One is an older lady and I have not quite figured out the other one yet. It has not chosen to reveal itself to that extent yet.
I know that I have spirits that tend to follow me,  but my boyfriend does not believe in them so some have stayed at a distance for now.

Your life's outcome can only be determined by your choices, not those things that others choose for you.
Joy can be found all year round. You make the choice to live a joyful life. Joy is deep inside you.

I have several. One is a man who died in a fire on the property where my mobile home is now. He never comes too close, choosing to stay near the edge of the property. He wears a hat and a big ovecoat, and walks (?) up and down the road at night. He has been spotted by quite a few of my neighbors and visitors (some of whom swear they are never going outside while they are here, LOL!)

I haven't seen the second one, but my sensor light goes crazy frequently and I hear pounding on the outside of my home at least several times a night. Good thing I am always up late.

The third I became aware of quite recently. This one is an inside spirit. I have seen it moving out of the corner of my eye. The cats are really curious about this one. A couple of nights ago my cat Foxy crouched really low on the floor and crept along after it after I spotted it near my bathroom. He even sat and waited for it to reappear.

I have noticed that they become more active at this time of year.

To my knowledge we don't have any right now but we have in the past had family come to visit.
My father in law came to both of my girls each time they were pregnant. The strange thing about
That is he was not close to our kids at all. As a matter of fact he was much closer to his daughters
Kids, he felt like ours were not worth paying any attention to. He even tried to burn our house down
With me and our 3 kids in it right after I had surgery. It was pure guidance that I saw the fire at the end
Of our house and called the fire department. Even with stitches and my 14 year old son we were able
To keep the fire away from getting to the house until the fire department got there. So why he showed up
During the time they were pregnant we don't know. And we do know it was him because he had such
A horrible body odor when he was alive and it was the first thing we would smell before we knew he
Was there.

Please, Trim Your Posts!

Posted by: "Lady Nightshayde" LadyNightshayde9@aol.com   nightshayde99

Tue Sep 27, 2011 8:52 pm (PDT)

Please, Trim Your Posts!

If you belong to a Yahoo Group or a list, how often have you seen this request? Do you trim your posts? If you don't why don't you? Is it because you:

1. Don't know how?
2. Don't see why you should?
3. Can't take the time/can't be bothered?

1.*If you don't know how, then you need to learn. By far, the majority of posters that do not trim posts do not know how.
Here are some screenshots to see how. It isn't hard! (For those who REALLY don't know how, you must press 'Reply' first.)
Screenshot An untrimmed message.
Screenshot Step One, highlight the un-needed part. To highlight an area, just place your cursor at the start and drag the cursor to the end.
Screenshot Step Two, cut to remove the highlighted area.
Screenshot Step Three, use Delete or Backspace instead of cut.
Screenshot All Trimmed and ready to send.

2.* Don't see why you should?
Every word in an email takes up a bit of bandwidth. A really long and repetitive email can use more bandwidth than most users are aware. But the people who live in areas that get charged for every second of bandwidth are aware! So out of respect for those folks, trim your posts!

Another reason to trim, it just makes posts easier to read! No one wants to see over and over again all of the stuff that Yahoo adds to each and every post! I don't know about everyone else, but if the poster is appending his/her post to the end of the message, I probably won't read it if the post contains everyone else's message that has ever replied without trimming. Another thing is that people who are on Daily Digest receive the posts in one message, and if the posts are not trimmed, this message is extreme long, especially for high-volume lists.

If none of the above moves you to trim, think about this. For folks who are vision impaired and depend on screen readers, there is no option to 'visually skim' trying find the pertinent information. They must listen to each and every word; maybe even listen to the mechanical voice count how many asterisks are in the attempt to mark off a section. Many aspects of email, and the Internet in general, can be huge boosts for accessible living. Other aspects, like untrimmed email, can be equally huge roadblocks.

3.* Can't take the time to be bothered?
If you think your time is more valuable than being courteous, then you probably don't need to post to Yahoo Groups. Common courtesy goes a long way and is one of the most valuable assets for a poster. It is part of the reason a group can be successful.
So please take the time to learn how to trim messages when posting to a group or list. You will be much appreciated and will not earn the wrath of fellow members for using unnecessary bandwidth. (Your posts will be much easier to read!)
The messages in the screenshots are not for a real Yahoo Group, they are for viewing purposes only.

I know personally that it is difficult to trim messages if you are posting from a smartphone, so we do take this into account.

One last thing, don't get too carried away with trimming!
There is a happy medium to trimming. Leave enough of the message you are responding to so that we don't have to search through a list to find the original post. For me, if all of the footer information is trimmed, that is usually enough. Unless of course the post has been replied to numerous times. Then more rigorous trimming needs to happen.
Some folks are so enamored of 'all posts must be trimmed' they lose sight of the original purpose of help groups, which is to actually 'help' and not jump on folks all the time for not trimming.

The light of a hundred stars cannot equal the light of the Moon.

Live From Your Heart

Posted by: "Lady Nightshayde" LadyNightshayde9@aol.com   nightshayde99

Tue Sep 27, 2011 8:57 pm (PDT)

Live From Your Heart

A subtle yet major contributor to sweating the small stuff for many people is the failure to live from the heart. Instead, many people fall into routines out of default, or because everyone else seems to be doing something, or because it seems like the right thing to do. For example, people often choose careers that their parents wanted for them, or because of some perceived status or some other external measure. Or some parents will put their kids into certain activities or dress them in certain clothes simply because everyone else is doing it. Still others will struggle to buy a home instead of renting an apartment because they heard it was part of the American Dream, or they will, in some other way, live beyond their financial means because they are trying to "keep up with the Joneses."

Living from your heart means that you choose a life and a lifestyle that are true for you and your family. It means you make important decisions because they resonate with your heart and your own values, and not necessarily with those of others. Living from your heart means that you trust your own instincts more than the pressures from advertising or the expectations of society, neighbors, and friends.

Living from your heart, however, does not mean you become a rebel, break family tradition, or become different from everyone else. It's far more subtle than that. Living from the heart is about trusting that quiet voice within you that emerges when you quiet down enough to listen. It's that voice that speaks to you from a place of wisdom and common sense instead of from frantic chatter and habit. When you trust your heart rather than your habits, new insights will pop into your mind. These insights can be anything from the idea to move to a different town, to the realization of the necessity to break a destructive habit, to an answer of how to communicate differently with someone you love. You might also have insights about who you choose to spend time with as well as new ways to solve problems. It all starts from listening to your heart.

A failure to live from the heart creates a great deal of internal conflict, which in turn encourages you to become short-tempered, easily bothered, and reactive. Deep down, you know what is true for you, what kind of life you want to be living, and what type of person you want to be. If your actions are inconsistent with your deeper wisdom, however, you will feel frustration and stress. As you learn to live from your heart, these tendencies will gradually fade away and you will become calmer, happier, and less stressed. You will be living your life instead of everyone else's.

The way to live more from your heart is to commit to doing so. Ask yourself questions like: "How do I really want to live my life?" "Am I following my own path or am I doing things simply because I've always done them that way, or because I'm living up to someone else's expectations?" Then simply quiet down and listen. Rather than trying to come up with an answer, see if you can allow the answers to come to you, as if out of the blue.

If you want to become more peaceful, and a whole lot happier, this is a good place to start. Living from your heart is one of the foundations of inner peace and personal growth. Give it a try. You'll be surprised, even delighted, at what you might discover.

Creating a Magical Formula

Posted by: "Lady Nightshayde" LadyNightshayde9@aol.com   nightshayde99

Tue Sep 27, 2011 9:00 pm (PDT)

Creating a Magical Formula

Everyone wants to perform spells and works of magic with consistent and
reliable results. There are essentially five so-called "ingredients" that
comprise the art of creating successful works of magic. You can adapt them
or arrange them according to your own needs as long as you employ them all.
These components are personal will, timing, imagery, direction, and balance.
Let's look at each one and gain an understanding of the concept.

Personal Will

Personal will can also be thought of as motivation, temptation, or
persuasion. In order to establish enough power to accomplish your goal, you
must be sufficiently moved to perform a work of magic. If you do not focus
fully on the results, or if you invest only a small amount of energy in your
desire, you are unlikely to realize any true results. The stronger your need
or desire is, the more likely it is that you will raise the amount of energy
required to manifest what you seek. However, desire or need is not enough by
itself. Bear in mind that desire must be controlled, and the will must be
focused only upon a detached view of the desired outcome of your spell or
magical rite. Enflame your mind in the intent while at the same time
separating yourself from the desired result. In other words, run the race
mindful of the finish line but totally focused on the pace.

Timing

In the performance of ritual magic, timing can mean success or failure. The
best time to cast a spell or create a work of magic is when the target is
most receptive. Receptivity is usually assured when the target is passive.
People sleep, corporations close overnight and during holidays, etc. One
must also take into account the phase of the Moon and the season of the year.
Wiccans always work with nature and not against her. Generally speaking,
4:00 a.m. in the target zone is the most effective time to cast a spell of
influence over a person or situation.

Imagery

The success of any work also depends on images created by the mind. This is
where the imagination enters into the formula. Anything that serves to
intensify the emotions will contribute to success of your spell. Any
drawing, statue, photo, scent, article of clothing, sound, or situation that
helps to merge you with your desire will greatly add to your success.
Imagery is a constant reminder of what you wish to attract or accomplish. It
acts as a homing device in its role as a representation of the object,
person, or situation for which the spell is intended. Imagery can be shaped
and directed all according to the will of the Wiccan without detracting from
focusing the mind on the spell's intent. This becomes the pattern or formula
that leads to realization of desire. Surround yourself with images of your
desire and you will resonate the vibrations that will attract the thing you
desire.

Direction

Once enough energy has been raised, you must direct it toward your desire.
Do not be anxious concerning the results, because anxiety will act to draw
the energy back to you before it can take effect. Perform your spell casting
with the expectation that the magic will work, accept that it has, and simply
await its manifestation. Reflecting back on the spell tends to ground the
energy because it draws the images and concepts back to you. Once the spell
is cast, mentally detach yourself and try to give the matter no more thought
so as not to deplete its effectiveness. Mark a seven-day period off on your
calendar and evaluate the situation seven days later. It usually takes about
seven days (one lunar quarter) for magic to manifest.

Balance

The last aspect of magic one has to take into account is personal balance.
This means that one must consider the need for the work of magic and the
consequences on both the spell caster and the target. If anger motivates
your magical work, then wait a few hours or sleep on it overnight. While
anger can be a useful propellant for a spell, it can also cloud the thinking.
If possible, make sure you have exhausted the normal means of dealing with
something before you move to a magical solution. Make sure you are feeling
well enough to work magic and plan to rest afterward. Magic requires a
portion of your vital essence drawn from your aura. Replenish this with rest
even if you do not feel tired. Health problems begin in the aura long before
the body is aware of them.

Unleashing the Magic of Your Aura

Most magical folk are familiar with the aura, the field of light energy that
surrounds the human body, and know that it can be read to determine
disposition, character, or illness. What many do not know is that the aura
can be temporarily programmed to reflect the color of your choosing. This is
done for a variety of magical and mundane needs, such as helping alter your
mood, giving you a boost of energy, or projecting a desired image to others.
Even people who are not psychic, and who vehemently do not believe in the
existence of the aura, unconsciously pick up on the color changes if you
project them strongly enough.

To alter your auric color, close your eyes, relax, and allow yourself to feel
grounded and centered. As you do this, focus on the color you want to
project, then begin to feel the core of energy at the center of your being
expanding as this color. Keep up this visualization for about five minutes,
or until you feel that you have sufficiently colored the light field around
you. The results will be temporary and, depending on how much energy you put
into the act, how good you are at projecting energy, and how far you are
deviating from your natural auric color, the effect should last between
twenty and sixty minutes.

RED: Project red when you need a boost of energy, when you want to let off
steam, or are preparing for an athletic event. Keep in mind that others may
perceive a red aura as stress or anger.

ORANGE: Project orange to attract attention to yourself, or when you need a
boost of energy but do not feel you can handle the intensity of red.

YELLOW: Project yellow when you need to bolster your creative self or when
you are deep into intellectual pursuits, such as studying for an exam.
Others who sense the yellow aura will likely view you as being very smart.

GREEN: Project green when you need a calming influence. The color sense
will be picked up by others around you, and you may find that you not only
calm yourself, but your entire environment as well. Try on a green aura when
you are gardening to help you merge with the energies of the plants.

BLUE: Project blue when you are attempting any spiritual pursuit or when you
suffer from insomnia. Those with blue auras are perceived by others as being
balanced and selfless people, impressions that make this a good color to work
with when applying for a job in a service-oriented industry.

INDIGO: Project this blue-violet color when attempting any psychic work.
Others who perceive this color will see you as being dreamy and not
completely "with it." Avoid indigo when on the job hunt or any other time
when you need to appear competent.

VIOLET: Project violet when attempting to heal yourself or others, or when
you are working with visualization to ward off a bad habit. Those who pick
up on your violet aura think of you as a person of intense emotion--ever hear
of a purple passion?

PINK: Project pink for peacefulness, when trying to stir up a romance, or
when you wish to appear non-threatening.

PEACH: Project peach when you want to turn your attention outward to other
matters. This can be useful to help overcome depression or when you need to
put aside an issue for a while and let things work themselves out. Peach
auras are perceived by others as being compassionate, making this a good
color for health care professionals to use when dealing with difficult
patients.

BROWN: Project a brown aura when you are working earth magic or magic for
animals. Be aware that others sense brown as being dull-witted and even
trustworthy, so avoid carrying them into the workplace or anywhere else where
first impressions matter.

WHITE: Project white when you want to go unnoticed. White appears very
neutral to the psychic eye as it tends to camouflage itself against the other
energy fields that surround us. It is sometimes even hard for trained
psychics to pick up on white auras.
