Then give it up and let it drop. Obviously, either she doesn't want to comply, or she doesn't think that your emotional ranting is worth it. That would be my opinion on why you aren't getting any.

With the outburst of anger and twisting you have done on this thread, I would just ignore your demands also.

Take a deep breath and think about it. Then either stop and move on, or get used to being ignored.

Honey I don't think asking for proof is inappropraite in any form, I make
character assasition type comment on someone I would hope someone would call
me on it and ask me to put up or shut up so to speak

You wouldn't call him that if you ever watched him take apart the bs
spewing spin masters on the right on his show. He regularly makes mincemeat out
of them. They keep forgetting he actually worked for the Senate.

Ummmm, MSNBC is NOT a "failing" station." Their ratings are actually
middle of the road for a news/commentary network. Several of their time slots
beat Fox and most actually beat CNN. Google is your friend on this.

Actually, Glenn Beck HAS a diagnosis of mental illness. He's supposed to
be taking lithium to control his mood swings, he's just non-compliant.
Several of his old radio bosses had to ask him if he took his meds before
allowing him on the air. He also thinks he's above the law and regulations.
Did you know he once called the wife of an on-air rival and put her on the
air (without her knowledge or permission, which is illegal, BTW) and spent
several minutes berating her, on air, because she had a miscarriage? I,
personally, would have pressed charges, but the woman had literally gotten out
of the hospital just a few days before and was already traumatized enough.

All one has to do is listen to what happens when someone less than friendly
to his point of view manages to make it past the screeners on his radio
show. He screamed like a maniac at one person who said something he didn't
like. There's probably YouTube video, but the less I have to listen to his
crazy, the better I feel.

<shrugs> Whenever he would take over for Olbermann he would seem like a fish
out of water - very dry delivery. As a federal employee, I'm sure he was
great - but as a performer, nah. Remember I would watch the show as
entertainment.........

OK, you want proof that Glenn Beck is nuts? Here you go. This is him
losing his shit on a caller to his radio show. This is the one I referenced
before. _http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YA7-BvVDV10_

It's the speakers we find most troubling, most disturbing presenting

scream their opinions in a celebration of freedom. I'm not an

disagree with most of the views that I've seen from them, and frankly
my free time is limited, so I don't watch them much. It doesnt mean
they're scary, or evil, or fear mongers, or poop head meanie faces
even it means they have a different view of things, doesn't make

scream their opinions in a celebration of freedom. I'm not an
olberman fan, can't stand him actually, but I take no pleasure in

trying to rehab a badly failing station than a conspiracy. I'm not an
msnbc fan either I think it's more opinion than hard news and I
disagree with most of the views that I've seen from them, and frankly
my free time is limited, so I don't watch them much. It doesnt mean
they're scary, or evil, or fear mongers, or poop head meanie faces
even it means they have a different view of things, doesn't make
either them or wrong or right it makes them different and that's just
fine.
Different opinions shouldn't be scary they should be celebrated

documentation ever be the the wrong thing to do, I think I just really don't
understand that point, how would that be anything other then encouraged... not
scary maybe uncomfortable if you disagree but where would it end it is a
frightening slippery slope... should teachers stop teaching about the
Holocaust because the facts are nauseating and uncomfortable and may turn folks
against nazis even though they only present facts, should the media no longer
investigate Jim Bob for defrauding old ladies of their life savings
because oh no we may not like Jim Bob any more? My main objection was to your
term scary and then fear mongering in differing opinions, I think these are
the ones that should be encouraged and shouted the loudest. O'Reilly
believes that Christmas is under attack in public places, he presents it with
back up documentation, everything Beck presents on his show is documented
very well, and the line he says the most is, and I paraphrase, don't believe
anything I say, don't believe anything anyone says do the research and make
your own decisions.

Of course you are and I gave you a couple.

Those we mentioned are entertainers, not newsmen. Yes, O'Reilly and
Olbermann may have real newsmen on the show, but like "The Daily Show" and "The
Colbert Report", it is the hosts who decide whether and how the information
those newsmen provide is conveyed. I never used the word "evil". I'm
going to stick with scary and fearmongering because what little I have seen
of both O'Reilly and Beck their form of entertainment is best described
with those words. Lou Dobbs was a better conservative commentator. As was
William F. Buckley.

I agree with your statement that uncomfortable speakers should be heard.
That's why I watch C-Span. Oh, and First Church every Sunday....

I find Ahmadinejad disturbing and uncomfortable but I applaud Columbia
University's having him to speak. I'm looking forward to hearing Justice
Scalia's speeches. I found Justices Ginsberg and O'Connor interesting and
thought-provoking. There is an African-American professor (I forget his
name at the moment) with dark Einstein-ish hair and a tendency to spit when he
speaks that is always asked on panels about "Blacks in America" who has
some very uncomfortable positions on a lot of issues but he is very
interesting to hear. John McCain has always had my attention.

As to "poop head meanie faces", I have never heard the term.

and honey disagreeing and presenting another point of view that disagrees
with you even though it's documented and factually accurate does not mean
bat shit crazy it means he has another point of view, people do have
different views they all don't have to agree with you it doesn't make the
wrong or crazy or evil it makes them different, part of being a grown up is
learning how to accept other points of views that we find oogy :)

The latest target of Glenn Beck's paranoid conspiracy fantasies has been
receiving death threats. Enough is enough. Make advertisers Drop Fox now.

Dear Amy,

Glenn Beck's latest conspiracy theory target is a 78-year-old professor
who, 45 years ago, published an article with her husband which posited that
people overwhelming the welfare rolls could put enough stress on the system
that it would force the need for certain reforms to help the poor.

The result? City University of New York professor and longtime advocate
for the poor and working class, Frances Fox Piven has been receiving
repeated death threats on online message boards and has personally received angry
and violent emails.1

Beck has chosen to escalate these attacks even after the sad instance of
political violence we recently experienced -- and are still recovering from
-- in Arizona. Amidst calls to bring an end to incendiary, violence-causing
rhetoric, Beck is doubling down, and if his network and advertisers simply
sit back and watch, they must be held accountable for any violence this
rhetoric may reap.

This is over the line, even for Beck. _Tell advertisers to Drop Fox right
now._ (http://site.pfaw.org/site/R?i=AkQHCX_A_MlbL-CNyXe68A..)

Advertisers' sponsorship of the network that gives Beck his platform is
unacceptable. Let these companies know that Americans are watching them and
are ready to hold them accountable.

Beck says that the Frances Fox Piven and her now-deceased husband's goal
was to "intentionally collapse our economic system," and he traces every
paranoid fantasy of liberal plots to destroy America and capitalism (the
mythical "voter fraud" by ACORN, health care and financial reform, the Obama
presidency itself) directly to what he calls the "Cloward-Piven Strategy"
(Cloward being Piven's late husband).

In light of the escalation of violent, rage-filled comments directed at
Piven by presumed Beck fans, groups like the Center for Constitutional Rights
have been calling on Fox News to make Beck cease his personal attacks. But
Fox refuses. According to the New York Times:
Joel Cheatwood, a senior vice president, said Friday that Mr. Beck would
not be ordered to stop talking about Ms. Piven on television. He said Mr.
Beck had quoted her accurately and had never threatened her.

"'The Glenn Beck Program,' probably above and beyond any on television,
has denounced violence repeatedly," Mr. Cheatwood said.
Mr. Cheatwood, that is simply not true. Here's what we know:

Byron Williams, the would-be assassin of staff of the ACLU and the Tides
Foundation in San Francisco, who was stopped by police in a shootout in July
2010, cited Glenn Beck as his inspiration, specifically singling out Beck
programs from June of that year in which Williams said Beck had "been
breaking open some of the most hideous corruption." It was on his Fox News show
of June 10 that year that Glenn Beck said, "You're gonna have to shoot
them in the head," in reference to Democrats such as then U.S. House Speaker
Nancy Pelosi who he described as a Marxist "revolutionary" and "communist."

Now this cycle is starting to repeat itself right before our very eyes!

um honey if you actually listen to what he actually said and not what is
filtered through progressive organizations with an agenda he never
threatened her he played her own words .. .that's right HER OWN WORDS, never
said anything about violence, and decried it on many occasions

Thinking for yourself and not taking someone elses word for things without
doing the requisite research really also a sign of a grown up... now if you
just share their agenda and want to believe everything that they say without
due diligence more power to you, but don't try to pass it off as fact.

Cher and the other moderators:

Since when did this become a political site. And when did the statement in the home page of this list, " We don't discriminate against anyones beliefs," become null and void.

From what I understand this person had been moderated on other lists for her argumentative attitude and statements. It seem that she should be moderated here.

Like I said in an earlier post, "Lets get back to what this list was intended for."

I will stand up for what I believe and if that's argumentative I can live
with that. I'm sorry I seem to be on the wrong side of the isle from most
and I know that's considered evil or what ever. I have never initiated a
political discussion and will not, but I will also not stand idly by and
watch the name calling and the attacks and not say something. I'm fine
dropping this or leaving either one let me know.

So, Hilter just had a different point of view? Stalin? Mao Tse Tung? Timothy McVeigh?

Yes, anyone can have their own point of view. But with that comes the responsibility of tempering it with reason and diplomacy. Basically, watch what and how you say something, because it can influence other people--some reasonable and some not--into doing things that are violent and bad.

Is there anything wrong with stating an opinion? No. But, when an opinion is spewed across the airwaves with using bad wordage, then it becomes irresponsible behavior. I won't discard the victims of the Tucson shootings as not being an excellent example of what can happen when this kind of "flap jawing" is used by people who are in a position to influence others.

There is a very wide river between stating an opinion, and spewing it with hate and vigor over public airwaves in not just as undignified way, but a harmful way. And if you for one minute think that this kind of method doesn't cause others to rise up and harm others, then there is no use even opening your posts anymore.

As Lori has stated, you have made this a moot discussion because all you seem to be out for is "proving" to others that you are right and you don't even read what others have stated.

This isn't a political forum. And, since you mention it with your last sentence, you have been ask and even told to let it go and move on. That was this morning, and you are still doing your best to keep it alive and flaming. As to the last option, if you choose it, don't let the garden gate hit you in the butt on the way out, "honey".

This kind of behavior is why there is no discussion on these groups anymore. It makes for a very hostile environment.

Beck (and I'm not a huge fan) has never called for violence or the slaughter
of millions that's kind of a HUGE difference, he presents well documented
facts I'm sorry you don't like him, I'm sorry you find him scary and
offensive but he has a right to do what he does, he does not call people to
violence and says repeatedly to handle things within the system (they dn't
show that part on media matters :( sorry) I'm trying to make a point, that
vilifying those that disagree without first hand knowlege and having it only
viewed though a filter of those who you agree with can be astonishingly
destructive

Your point was made posts and posts ago!!! I never even said I have any thoughts one way or the other about Beck. You AREN'T reading the posts! I never said that he was calling for violence. I never said that he was calling for slaughter. LISTEN to what is being stated. Take a deep breath, let your self centered emotions go, and start reading the words, not what you want them to say.

And let this damn thread die. You have twisted it into a pretzel that didn't need to be done that way.

For someone who demands that others be allowed the right to state their own opinions, you sure don't give that courtesy to others. That is ALL that has been done here by Lori or I, or anyone else. Give up the vendetta and move on!!!

DailyOM: Full Release

DailyOM - Water Meditation
Today's DailyOM brought to you by:

January 25, 2011
Full Release
Water Meditation
Meditating with water can be a powerful way of aligning ourselves with an element that sustains us.

Our bodies are over fifty percent water, so it makes sense that human beings have always considered water to be a sacred source of life and healing. It is literally half of who we are, and well over half of the earth's surface is water. Water cleanses and hydrates, contains and produces nourishment, and when we enter it, holds us in an embrace that leaves no part of us untouched. Meditating with water can be a powerful way of aligning ourselves more fully with this support system that makes life both possible and pleasurable on so many levels.

We may wish to conduct our meditation while in physical contact with a body of water, whether in the intimacy of our bathtub or the vast container of an ocean. We might float on our backs in a swimming pool or sit with just our feet submerged in a pond or creek. On the other hand, we may simply close our eyes and choose a location based on our imagination. Whatever we choose, we can begin by closing our eyes and listening to our breathing. At the same time, we tune in to the particular music of the water we have chosen—the loud rushing of a river or waterfall, or the surreal silence of the world beneath the surface of the ocean. We might consider how the type of water we choose reflects what we seek—the peace beneath the hectic surface of life, the cleansing power of a river racing through a canyon, or the mood lifting, melodic bubbling of a lively creek.

As we move between awareness of our breath and awareness of the water in which we find ourselves, we can begin to release the things we no longer need into the rushing river, or release ourselves completely into the water's embrace as we float, in our minds, in the watery womb of an ocean or a lake. When you feel you are ready to return to more solid ground, ease your body back onto earth, in your mind or in reality, and lie flat on your back, allowing the water to bead and roll off your skin, soaking the earth and evaporating into the air, leaving you cleansed, healed, and renewed.

Hello Brothers and Sisters in Wellbriety!

Welcome to a new year as supporters of the Wellbriety Movement. It is also the 12th year in which we are honored to be publishing Wellbriety! Online Magazine. We are grateful to all of you for looking at the magazine for however many years you've been on our e mail list. The Movement continues to grow and we look forward to reporting on events throughout 2011.

This issue announces a new book by Don Coyhis, founder of White Bison, Inc. and the inspiration behind the Wellbriety Movement. This short book is both a memoir and a capsule history of White Bison and the Wellbriety Movement from the 1970's onward. It's called,The Wellbriety Movement Comes of Age: The Fulfullment of Prophecy. You'll see more about this new addition to the Wellbriety family of resources in the magazine.

We are also delighted to offer an in-depth interview with Sharyl Whitehawk, Lac Courte Oreilles, about Native women's healing activities and status as we begin 2011. Sharyl faciltates a number of White Bison and Wellbriety Movement programs. We offer the interview in hopes that more Native women will take part in some of the women's programs we offer. It is a good way to begin 2011 -- The Year of Our Native Women in Healing.

You can download the issue at www.whitebison.org.

On behalf of Don Coyhis, President and Founder of White Bison, Inc., and the Wellbriety Movement,

In Wellbriety,

Richard Simonelli
Editor, Wellbriety Online Magazine
