Diane Wolkstein will be performing the Aboriginal myth, 'Sun Mother Wakes the World' at the National Gallery in Canberra at 10.30am this coming Thursday. She's an amazing woman who researches the myth with a great deal of integrity and then brings them alive in her storytelling, choreographed with music and movement. Hope some of you get to hear and see her.
After that, she'll be heading for Brisbane and Perth. Would love to become a groupie and just follow her around the countryside but finances don't allow and it has been a blessing to have her here in my country (North East Vic) for a few days.

Greetings All
The folks at the Adelaide Theosophical Society are holding a day entitled "Earth Connections" on Sunday, 13 February 2011.
Topics being covered by various speakers include an overview of Wicca at 11.00am, a History and Overview of The Golden Dawn at 1.00pm and the presenting of a DVD entitled "Experiencing The Shamanic Journey" later in the afternoon.
The TS is located at 310 South Terrace, Adelaide, South Australia 5000 and is the home of New Dimensions bookshop.

This is a one day an introduction to what Tantra can do to help you create
magical relationships in every part of your life. It will help you prepare for
these relationships whether you have a partner or searching for one. The first
and most important relationship is the one with yourself so that will be the
focus. All genders, orientations, Queer and fetish welcome and invited. We will
explore the seven dimensions and languages of relationships and focus on the
subtle connections we make that will deepen our play together as lovers,
partners, friends and workmates.The focus is on personal and spiritual
development so wear comfy clothes that will let you move freely. Be prepared
for profound honesty, intense growth, intimacy and sensuality, dancing and
playing, but not vanilla sex (just to be clear).

Hi just joined this group. I have long been involved in spirituality, Paganism, Buddhism and Tantra. I run workshops on these subjects. I believe everyday life is our greatest teacher and the most important test and trainer for magic[k], it is our most power object of meditation and contemplation. This holds true most especially for our loving relationships. They are route by which we enter the world and it enters us. It's not the experiences, ideas and feeling you have that are important but the way you hold them and share them.
I've got some workshop and groups coming soon, if you want to know about them ask...

Shamans around the world come together in groups to perform healings, to journey and to create a community that is filled with support for all within it. We have set up this group to explore Shamanic ritual, drumming, dancing your power animal, power retrivals, energy and the light body and much, much more.
No shamanic experience is required, in fact no healing experience of any kind is necessary to reap the benefits of being part of a community event like this.

Thank you for letting us know Roxanne
Is this yet another wannabe white hijacking aboriginal mythology in
order to make a buck? Our job should not be to steal their stories, but
to empower indigenous peoples to tell their own stories.
It is not for us to patronisingly tell their stories for them. This is a
country where Aboriginal Spirituality is so discounted that it is not
recognised in any form, by any arm of government. There is not one
single recognised Aboriginal Celebrant in Australia. I am not talking
about Aboriginal Christian celebrants, but celebrants of the old ways. I
think it is time we empower our Aboriginal folk to tell their own tales
and claim their own diverse spiritual framework, rather than promote
people telling their tales on their behalf.
I have no doubt that I have set myself up for the flames to begin but it
had to be said!
