Daily Feng Shui Tip

Daily Feng Shui Tip by Ellen Whitehurst for Friday, June 3

Today is 'Repeat Day,' and well, today is 'Repeat Day,' and well -- oh, okay, you get it. According to Feng Shui a certain amount of repetition is necessary when installing adjustments or cures since the Feng Shui 'Speech Secret' is believed to empower your cures simply by repeating a sacred prayer or mantra. This 'Speech Secret' uses the powerful energy of your own voice to lend exponential strength to your cure. The most highly recommended mantra is often referred to as the 'Six True Syllables' mantra, or the Om Mani Padme Hum. This ancient prayer is known to foster and create balance, harmony and compassion, especially when invoked nine times after putting a cure in place. So the next time a tip that tells you to do something specific to shift your fortunes and luck, make sure to repeat the 'Secret Speech' mantra nine times in order to make the most of your health, happiness and prosperity! You don't need to tell me twice!

The light of a hundred stars cannot equal the light of the Moon.

Lady Nightshayde

Your Special Gift
Sharing Your Genius

We all have a genius within us and when one of us doesn’t develop or use our special gift, a cosmic void takes place.

Each of us is born with a specific genius that was bestowed upon us so we can do our part to make this world a better place. All of us have a role that we’re uniquely suited for. Imagine our planet without trees, oceans, or clouds. In this same way, when one of us doesn’t develop or use our special gift, a cosmic void takes place.

This unique talent or ability may be hidden from your own sight like a golden treasure buried under shifting sands. Often, we spend so much time dazzled by the talents of others that we can overlook our own gifts. It may even be that our unique ability is something we view negatively. Perhaps we find it difficult concentrating on any one subject for long; meanwhile, others are thrilled by our ability to weave various ideas throughout our conversations. Or, you might think of yourself as “frivolous,” when it’s likely your charming approach to life casts a light of inspiration that others can’t help but follow. It’s important for all of us to try to find our special gift and discover how we can best express it. Ask others to name what they think is your most overlooked talent or character trait. Their answers may change your life.

Explore these riches that are yours to express, and you may find yourself helping others discover and develop their own blessings. Acknowledge and appreciate the gifts you see in those around you. Tell your neighbor that loves to garden how much her green thumb enlivens the whole block. Thank your coworker for always greeting your days together with a smile. Tell your close friends that their ability to listen makes your world a better place. Our unique gifts are like golden rays of expression that can encircle the world with light.

This Week's Moonscopes Forecast  Week of June 5 to June 11

Posted by: "Lady Nightshayde" LadyNightshayde9@aol.com   nightshayde99

Fri Jun 3, 2011 11:12 pm (PDT)

This Week's Moonscopes Forecast
For the week of June 5 to June 11
(Missed last week's forecast? Here it is.)

Sunday, Monday,Tuesday(*v/c):the Moon is in Leo
Some keywords for the sign Leo aredignified, dramatic, magnetic, generous, and playful. If you have Leo prominentin your birth chart or if you have the 5th house (Leo's home base) of your charthighlighted in some way, you will most likely identify with one or more of thesedescriptors. This sign is ruled by (associated with) the Sun and when the Moonis in Leo, both planets are in operation, no matter what sign the Sun currentlyis in or whether it's daytime or nighttime. Share warmth, support, andencouragement with others and accept the same with grace and elegance. And -don't forget to have fun - probably the main keyword of this sign!

later Tuesday afternoon, Wednesday, Thursday(v/c): the Moon is inVirgo
Fact-finding is one of the joys of the sign Virgo, which can be just asinquisitive as the sign Gemini. Little bits and pieces of information, especially if they happen to be obscure, light up the brain (and the computerscreen) of this sign with the desire to analyze and categorize. As onesaying goes, "enquiring minds want to know", so dive in and find outall you can. Of course a purist and precise Virgo would say "inquiringminds....." instead of the play on words that originally came from theNational Enquirer slogan. This is an example of how exacting and meticuloussomething can be when the Moon is in this location.

Thursday evening, Friday, Saturday(v/c): the Moon is inLibra
A strong moral character and a sound code ofethics are important to Libra and this applies particularly to personal unionssuch as love relationships or business partnerships. If you are in a closepersonal connection with someone, it's good to re-examine and re-evaluate whatthis means to each of you from time to time but especially when Saturn is inLibra making a conjunct aspect (connection) to the Moon as it is doing rightnow. If you're not in one of these situations, review these things for yourselfanyway because with Uranus in Aries, the sign opposite Libra, you never knowwhen someone will pop up.

P.S. - there are 3 days this week when the Moon is void-of-course (v/c), sodon't forget to scroll down on this page and review what this means.

Check your astrology chart to find which house (section of your chart) has the current Moon sign on the cusp (the beginning edge) & apply Forecast information to that area of your life aswell.
For example, the Moon is in Leo and one of the suggestions is to entertain - however Leo is located in the 12th house of your chart, which is an inward energy place...then have a small, quiet gathering. By contrast, if Leo is located in the 1st house of your chart, an outward energy place...have a party! Don't have an astrology chart? Click here .

It isinteresting to note when the current Moon is in the same sign as your birth Moon and to see how the flavor of that day carries through the following 30 days.

Current Planet Positions:
Sun - Gemini, until June 22
Mercury - Gemini, until June17
Venus - Taurus, untilJune 10
Mars - Taurus, until June 21
Jupiter - Taurus, until June 12, 2012
Saturn - Libra,until Oct. 6, 2012
Uranus - Aries, until Mar. 6, 2019
(Taurus, May 16, 2018-Nov. 7, 2018)
Neptune - Aquarius, until Feb. 4, 2012
(Pisces, Apr. 5-Aug. 5, 2011)
Pluto - Capricorn, until Nov. 20, 2024

Current Asteroid Positions:
Ceres - Pisces, until Jan. 20, 2012
Pallas - Aquarius, until Feb. 13, 2012
Juno - Virgo, until July 28
Vesta - Aquarius,until Dec. 21
Chiron - Pisces, until Apr. 22, 2018

Current Asteroid Transits:
Ceres - Harvest the core basics of spiritual beliefs orphilosophies.
Pallas - A practical application of information is the best approach.
Juno - Stateclearly what is wanted in a personal partnership.
Vesta - Personaldesires are mixed together with personal responsibilities.
Chiron -Transcend wounds and negativity through compassion.

Note: Timeframes for Moon signs, void-of-course periods, and current planet & asteroid positions are noted for Eastern time zone (USA). Please adjust according to your own location. Times are not given if the void-of-course Moon occurs for a very short period or if it occurs during the night(based on same Eastern time zone).

* v/c = Void-of-Course - When the Moon is void-of-course, spend time working on projects already in progress, creative endeavors, or self-improvement. Void-of-course simply means that no planets are aspecting the Moon as it gets ready to changesigns. It's best not to start new projects, sign important agreements, or go shopping when the Moon is void-of-course because the result will probably be unsatisfactory in some way.

** Mercury Retrograde - the speed of the planet slows down considerably. Communications, paperwork, electronics, and traffic can become very mixed-up or delayed during this time. A situation will be in the process of changing, so wait until Mercury is direct to finalize anything. In general, maintain a slower, more cautious pace in daily affairs. Always allow at least two days before (to slow down) and after (to resume regularactivities) a Mercury retrograde period. Read More about Mercury Retrograde here

Elder's Meditation of the Day

"...in Tunkashila, there is no time.Everything moves in the blink of an eye. It's as fast as thought. So there is no speedthere. There is no time in between."

-- Wallace Black Elk, LAKOTA

There is a relationship between thought andreality. Every thought is alive, and as soon asyou think it, a result occurs immediately. However,to make something happen it may take aseries of one thousand thoughts before you can actuallysee it with your eyes. This occurs becausethe Laws of the Great Spirit act immediately. When you tell a lie, you immediately experiencefear. When you tell the truth, you immediatelyexperience freedom. To the Creator, there is no time. For us to experience themeaning of this requires us to act on faith.Faith is belief without evidence.

Great Spirit, today, let meact on myfaith.

Magical Anchors

Posted by: "Lady Nightshayde" LadyNightshayde9@aol.com   nightshayde99

Fri Jun 3, 2011 11:23 pm (PDT)

Magical Anchors

You've heard of anchors before. Anchors keep boats from floating away when you moor them. In magic, anchors also keep you from floating away. In simple visualization practice, you may see an apple, or your bedroom, or a street you walk every day. As your skill grows, these visualizations become more vivid. After a certain point, visualizations become so complex that it's possible to get lost in them. While imaginative universes have their place, nasty side effects can emerge that strongly resemble schizophrenia. This can be prevented by the use of a magical anchor, whether physical or an alternative visualization.

Magical anchors range from physically present objects to geographic concepts. Any geographic body must remain still the majority of the time. Rivers, lakes, oceans, or active volcanoes make poor anchors. As a rule, the speed of an anchor should never outpace a glacier. Small anchors, usually talismans like a rabbit's foot or mojo bag, may be located away from you or on your person depending on what you wish to achieve. The talisman's composition rarely matters; what matters is that after extensive prayer and meditation, it bears a psychic link to you.

As an example of a good geographic anchor, Minnesota State University--Mankato has a clock tower standing alone in the center of an arboretum. Almost everyone visiting Mankato has seen its simple, distinctive shape, and can recall it easily in the mind's eye. Its distinctiveness has made it the butt of jokes at the university campus--some students refer to it as "the Penis on the Prairie"--and its distinctiveness has created a lasting psychic imprint that can be drawn on from anywhere.

One of the main blocks to astral projection is a fear that there will be trouble, or even damage, upon returning. While generally the body itself is an anchor, and a visualized silver cord for the consciousness is the standard for travel, introducing a secondary anchor acts as additional insurance that you won't float off and get lost in your travels. Thus, the large anchors are for larger magical processes, particularly those that may leave you confused as to where and when you are. No matter how bizarrely your familiar world changes in the astral, some objects persist. A tall building or sculpture that is iconic to the area, a stationary geographic feature like a mountain, and even a long-standing biological presence such as a large historical tree, over time create their own imprint. Each of these items appears consistently on an astral plane, has a place in the collective unconscious making it easy to visualize, and will be around for a long time. Sometimes, even after a building or tree falls, it leaves a psychic imprint like a phantom limb, disconnected yet present, to its body of surrounding land. These are the qualities needed for a magical anchor.

Portable Anchors?

Smaller anchors can be used, but are not necessarily for smaller workings. There are situations where these anchors simply fit better into the ritual scheme, such as when you go on long hikes or other occasions in which you venture into areas where you might get lost. Something small, even trivial, that would be completely incongruous to what you are doing is exactly what you'd need as a way to focus, should you get physically lost along your way. A small anchor should be utterly mundane. Its incongruity in a magical environment is its most important aspect. Work or building passes are especially useful. They symbolize safety because security offices make them, and it triggers the "every day" part of your mind--nothing is more mundane than work, and everything from demeanor to dress to thought pattern changes as part of going into "work mode." This moves you out of magical consciousness into the ideal space for grounding and centering.

Some items work better as talismanic anchors than others. I would advise against anything on a household altar, such as your athame or any other item used to guide you toward magical consciousness. Anchors should weigh you down and pull you back. It's possible that you'll just float off again if you try to use a designated magical object for your anchor. If you can think of nothing else as an anchor, think of a toilet that you use often. Toilets stay ordinary.

There are circumstances where having a talismanic anchor on your person comes in handy. In this case, anchors serve as a super-efficient method of grounding rather than as gates or keys between perceptual realities. These anchors may be worn as pendants or carried in your pocket as charms. In circumstances where you are meditating in a public space where interruption is inevitable, you can grasp your anchor and return to normal awareness. You may not ground completely, but you will become conscious enough to get to "normal ground."

To use a geographic anchor while astral projecting, do a dual visualization. Focus one part of your mind on the anchor itself; view it directly, look at a picture, or envision it. While holding the image of the anchor, perform your second visualization or meditation. If you want to astral project, focus on your anchor. While holding that image in your mind, make your routine mental preparations for projection. Breathe yourself down, see the white glow of light around your body, and off to the side remember your anchor. While thinking of your anchor, sense yourself lifting out of your body. This works because your anchor visualization occupies your unconscious mind, thus keeping your conscious mind from wandering while you direct most of your attention to your primary activity.

The distraction-reduction effect of the anchor can apply to far more than just astral projection. College students who practice magic know plenty about executing a working in a distracting environment. The constant noise in student housing can even distract a person with earplugs and a blindfold. Using an anchor can distance your mind from the extraneous noises, smells, and sights. And strengthening your attachment to the anchor can lead to deep meditation in the most difficult-to-concentrate situations.

In terms of limiting disruptions, anchors extend a step beyond shielding, which helps filter out a good portion of what disrupts a working, but can only muffle distractions (or cause you to perceive the distraction as muffled). Use of an anchor makes the distraction inconsequential. It's like hearing sirens after you move near a fire station--if you use earplugs to shield your ears, the noise is lessened, but it still gets through and can wake you; if you have something else to think about when the sirens go by, such as an anchor, you may not even realize you heard sirens.

Knowing what anchors are tells you how to use them, whether they are used as a filter or as a back-up plan. Anchors assist in sharp returns to ordinary consciousness, they filter distractions while in altered states, and they add an additional safety feature to magical and meditative exploration. If stuck at a point in magical development, add an anchor--it may actually provide the counterweight needed to propel you forward with the work, especially in astral projection. Linking your mind to a steady point of reference gives you one more way to return home safely.

Create Sacred Space In Your Home

Posted by: "Lady Nightshayde" LadyNightshayde9@aol.com   nightshayde99

Fri Jun 3, 2011 11:27 pm (PDT)

Create Sacred Space in Your Home

Today, our modern cities are testaments to a world addicted to
unbridled growth at any cost. Electromagnetic stresses, pollution, and
negative vibrational energy currents plague us in a manner unprecedented in
human history. Under these conditions, is it still possible to create sacred space?

The ancient practice of yoga, of integration of mind-body-spirit can
harmonize us. The same principles can be applied to our environments
as to our selves. As in ancient times, the utilization of yoga techniques to
become attuned to nature can help us regain this lost inherent wisdom of how to live in harmony. Learn how the yogic practices of meditation, sacred movement, sound, and ceremony can also create balance, flow, prosperity and peace in our homes.

The following yogic practices, when used with intention, will do much
to restore balance and harmony to any home, making it a peaceful sanctuary where Heaven and Earth unite:

Clear the Mind: One of the first steps in any yogic regimen is to
clear and still the mind. This begins to align us with the Source of our
Being. Similarly when we clear our homes of the external clutter, we allow the vibrations of a natural order to permeate our surroundings.

Breath: Perhaps one of the most powerful tools in yoga is the use of
the breath to bring our consciousness back in tune with the Divine
Cosmic Breath. This Cosmic Breath is the rhythm of Life itself. The cycles of the seasons represent the inhale and exhale of Life itself. In the winter, when the force of Life is receding, it is not a good time to start new activities, but to dissolve old attachments and connections, to go within and recede as well. In the spring, when Life is bursting forth with abundance, it is a time for new projects and activities as we are aligned with the flow of Life at that time. By synchronizing our home activities with the timings and cycles of Nature, we align ourselves with that Cosmic Breath, or pulsation of Life.

Balance: Achieving balance of mind, body and spirit is a core aim of
any yogic practice. In our homes, this is achieved by paying attention to
the five elements: earth (body), water (emotions), air (mind), fire (spirit),
ether (prana or sound). Become mindful that your home has a balanced
representation of each of the elements. A home that is predominantly governed by one of these elements over the others will bring its inhabitants out of balance due to the undue influence of that element.

Movement: In yoga, certain movements of the body can stimulate the
production of certain hormones, and restore the flow of Chi in the
body. Likewise, homes that incorporate aspects of sacred movement will rejuvenate the environment. For instance, in properties containing labyrinths, there is a curious absence of negative earth energy currents on those properties. Similarly, rituals such as sacred dance, like the twirling of the Sufi dances, when done with awareness and intention, can transform negative vibrational energies on a property.

Sound: Nada Yoga means "union through sound." It is the ancient
spiritual art and science of inner transformation through sound and tone.
Russill Paul, author of The Yoga of Sound, states, "Through Nada Yoga, we can fine-tune our bodies and our minds to resonate with the harmony in all of creation, from atoms and cells to flowers and planets."
The Vedas state that mantras chanted continually have the power to
purify and rejuvenated the environment. When we offer sound as vibrational
medicine for our homes, the result is a harmonizing of our environment with that of music of the spheres
.
Form: The asanas of yoga were first devised to mirror the forms in
nature. In so doing, our bodies and minds were put into tune with that
natural order. The same is true of architecture that patterns the harmonics found in Nature. Nature does not have straight angles, it flows in curves and
spirals, and so when we see examples of spirals, like a winding staircase, or the flow of water in a waterfall, we feel an instant harmony in environments that pattern Nature. Certain mathematical harmonics attuned to Nature achieve similar results. The mathematical harmonizing with nature was a main key to the building of the Cathedrals and temples throughout Europe, China, Egypt and India.

Ceremony: In yoga, the yajnas, or fire sacrifices, are a ceremonial
bridge between the inner and outer worlds, between human and the divine.
Fire transforms all things into their most subtle essence. Whether
applying the spiritual fire of spiritual practice (tapas) or the actual fire of a candle flame, fire transmutes and refines both our inner and outer environments. The ritual of placing a problem at the fire of a candle each night relieves the mind of the problem and one awakes feeling refreshed and relieved of the burden offered to the sacrificial fire. Yagnas like Agnihotra, dedicated to the god of fire, are known to purify the environment on physical as well as subtle levels. They have been shown to lower pathogenic viruses, pollution and even crime in areas where performed. Imagine the effect of yagnas performed in our homes. Sacred blessings of the land, releasing of the energies and traumas of the past, giving thanks to the ancestors, releasing all prior spirits on the property, all are ceremonies which purify and cleanse the vibrations of our homes when done with mindfulness. While times have changed, basic principles have not. Ancient yogic techniques of nada yoga harnessing the subtle vibrations of sound, asanas designed to mirror Nature's perfection, yagnas to purify and redeem the past, and meditation tuning us into the divine current of life around us-these techniques work not only to refine our own inner subtle vibrations, but also the vibrations of the space where we live, and our planet as well. Some of the most common changes that people have experienced when harmonizing their space with their environment include more energy, better sleep, enhanced learning among students, improved relationships, increased financial flow, increased plant growth, and better health among animals in the area. Now is a crucial time to make our homes our temples--places where the sacred vibrations radiate out to heal our families and communities. While
our modern times have created more complex problems, they have also created different solutions to the same age-old quest: creating sacred space on earth. By harmonizing the vibrations of our space, and creating sacredness among the mundane, we can transform our homes into sanctuaries of harmony.

Calling the Quarters/Casting Your Circle

By Rain Stormsong

The quarters reside in the cardinal points, East, South, West, and North. When you call the Quarters, you are doing more than simply circling the compass, however; you are inviting the symbolic energies for each of them to attend and guard over your working and to become part of your magick.

The act of calling the Quarters is an integral part of casting a circle. The circle being the sacred space in which ritual and magick are performed. It is a safe space in which to work and worship, a portable temple if you like.

When calling a Quarter, whether verbally, or in the case of those limited to silent casting, through visualization, you will want to use as many senses as possible to describe, qualify and thus call the essence of the Quarter to your working.

Here is a list of some correspondences:

Direction Element Animal Quality

East Air Eagle thought, intellect, imagination

South Fire Snake or Lizard passion, determination

West Water Otter or Dolphin emotion, love

North Earth Buffalo or Bear Stability, patience

To call the Quarter, first face in the direction of the Quarter, holding your athame as an extension of your arm. Visualize what the Quarter means and draw that image to you. Draw an invoking pentagram. Recite (either aloud or clearly in your mind) words that address and invite the Quarter. Breathe in and feel yourself infused with the essence of the Quarter.

Let’s look at each part of the above paragraph in a little more detail. Facing the direction of the Quarter is easy, but what does the Quarter mean to you? For East, the domain of the element Air, this could be a fresh breeze upon your face, or it could be memory of a hurricane force wind. For Fire, a crackling fireplace, or a blazing forest wildfire? There are varying degrees of intensity, and none of them are more wrong or right to use than another. Use what stirs your visualization and fills you with the sense of the Quarter being called. I personally use a mix of gentle and forceful, but not destructive images as they strike a balance for me.

Draw your invoking pentagram with your athame in the air in the direction of the Quarter. There is a specific invoking and banishing pentagram for each quarter. If you wish to use them, please do so. In order to keep this from sounding like a “you must do this or your circle won’t work” article, we are not going to include them here. Rituals should first and foremost work for you, and what works for someone else, may not be right for you.

A basic invoking pentagram starts at the bottom left hand point, moves to the top point, down to the bottom right hand point, to the left-hand point, to the right-hand point, and back to the bottom left hand point. A basic banishing pentagram begins at the top point and moves down to the bottom left point to the right point, to the left point, to the bottom right point, and back to the top.

What words should you use? There are many books on this topic. Your call can be formal and start with “All Hail the Guardians of the Watchtowers of the (direction), we seek your presence here tonight. Or, your call can be friendly and something like,

“Powers of (element), we invite you to be with us this eve.”

A complete call denotes the element, animal and quality of each individual Quarter. For example:

Guardians of the East, Powers of Air; you who are thought and the wind upon my face. Winged eagle of the skies who is the morning breeze and the wrath of storms, I call upon and invite your presence to witness this rite.

Guardians of the South, Powers of Fire, you who are passion and the hearth. Great Snake who lives within the coals of the home fires as well as wild fires, I call upon and invite your presence to witness this rite.

Guardians of the West, Powers of Water, you who are emotions and pure love. Gentle Dolphin of the waves who is the morning dew, and the torrential rains, I call upon and invite your presence to witness this rite.

Guardians of the North, Powers of Earth, you who are the stabilizer and nurturer. Powerful Buffalo who paws the ground and stands solid as the mountains, I call upon and invite your presence to witness this rite.

After you have called the North, turn again to the East, and your circle has been cast. You may now proceed with your ritual, or spell.

When you are ready to Dismiss the Quarters and Open the Circle, work backwards while facing each Quarter. Begin with North, then West, South, and East. Thank the Quarter and bid it farewell.

For Example:

Guardians of the North, of Earth, I thank you for your solid presence here tonight. Stay if you will, go if you must. Farewell and Blessed Be.

Guardians of the West, of Water, I thank you for your soothing presence here tonight. Stay if you will, go if you must. Farewell and Blessed Be.

Guardians of the South, of Fire, I thank you for your energetic presence here tonight. Stay if you will, go if you must. Farewell and Blessed Be.

Guardians of the East, of Air, I thank you for your whispered presence here tonight. Stay if you will, go if you must. Farewell and Blessed Be.

Your circle has been opened, your Quarters dismissed.

Please have fun and get creative with your Quarter calls. Perhaps even spend some time meditating on the different Quarters to really get in touch with what they bring to your life and ritual. The above Quarter calls/dismissals are my personal ones; please feel free to use them as written or change them to suit you. If you publish them anywhere though, please give me credit.

Bright Blessings!
