Jacqueline,
I tell my students the following:
The BOS should contain writings about all aspects of YOUR vision of WICCA. If it speaks to you, then include it. If you write a spell or Ritual of which you are proud or that gave you chills when you cast it - then include it. I would suggest that you also include related works of art which speak to you. You could even include photos of altars and Ritual Tables & so forth.
Remember, this is YOUR BOS. When YOUR BOS is complete, you will know exactly what type of Witch you are and what tradition you will follow.
Please don't let anyone tell you that there is only one way to create a BOS. If the end result is not YOUR doing, then it would be such a waste. A Teacher can only act as a guide. Your job will be to read - read - read and to ask questions.
Go to Moon Dances, Esbats, Open Circles & have some Witchy fun!
Remember, there are plenty of Witches here who could assist if there is no one in your area. I am sure that if you ask someone will step forward.
I hope that this helps!
Brightest Blessings,

Your BOS is just that--- YOURS, you can put whatever you want in it :) I am also
not a poet so to speak, I have both material that is mine but I also have stuff
that others have written. I have more than just spells, I have rituals,
correspondences, lore, history, stories, myths, etc. I actually have several
BOS"s. I have one for each sabbat and one for esbats then I have two large
binders that hold all the rest of my stuff.

I had a question. I'm starting my BOS. I wanted to know what things go in? I
know I've seen it listed but specifically~Do people put in spells only they've
written or spells they collect over the years written by others? Both? I'm
asking cuz I'm not good with words. Especially with the beautiful things I see
others write. I could never write anything as nice. So, basically I was
wondering if people put in spells just from themselves, just others (if
allowed), or both? - 1d.

we help them at 7pm or 6pm never later or eralier but this is up to you.
we would stay at either palce until it closed.
hope this help you

In the Open Air
Spending Time in Nature
Because we instinctively know that nature is good for us on many levels, it's not unusual to feel powerfully drawn to it.
In this modern age, we spend so much time indoors, focused on the busyness of our lives and disconnected from the earth. But much of what we truly need can only be found under the naked sky, alongside tall trees, on open plains, or in the sound of running water. Spending time in nature allows us to commune with other living beings and to find comfort in the nurturing embrace of Mother Earth. You can't help but experience a different sense of self while walking in a wood or traversing a mountainside. Being in nature connects us to the earth, grounding us as we walk, unhindered by concrete, upon her. Surrounded by other living beings, both bigger and smaller than we are, we remember that human beings are simply one form of life in this vast universe.
Because we instinctively know that nature is good for us on many levels, it's not unusual to feel powerfully drawn to it. Even if you live in a city or find it difficult to travel to a forest or the countryside, there are a myriad ways to reconnect with nature. When you step out of your door each morning, pause for a minute and close your eyes long enough to let your senses absorb your surroundings. Listen and breathe deeply, until you hear the wind rustling through branches, smell rain on damp grass, and see the reflection of leaves brushing up against windowpanes. If you have time, crouch down and closely examine any nearby grass and soil. The sights, sounds, smells, and sensations we experience that are part of nature can remind us of all the gifts Mother Earth grants us each day.
Spending time connecting with nature nourishes the soul, reminds you that you are never truly alone, and renews you by attuning you to the earth's natural rhythms. Taking a walk under the stars or feeling the wind on your face may be all it takes for you to reconnect with nature. Remember, you are as much a part of nature as are the leaves on a tree or water bubbling in a brook.

Yes I do know how to dress a candle, but haven't been doing much of anything for a while--working 2 jobs and (apparently) dating 2 men. Takes up a bit of time LOL

Happy solstice, happy summer!
* Comments 23
By Doyle Rice, USA TODAY
Updated 59m ago
Revellers cheer as the sun finally breaks through the clouds more than a couple
of hours after sunrise during the summer solstice at Stonehenge, near Salisbury
in England, on Tuesday. The summer solstice in the Northern Hemisphere occurs
annually on or near June 21 and is the time at which the sun is at its
northernmost point in the sky.
CAPTION
By Matt Dunham, APThe summer solstice – the annual moment at which the sun is
the highest it ever gets in the sky – occurs today at 1:16 p.m. ET. This time
also marks the beginning of astronomical summer in the Northern Hemisphere.
Druids and pagans gathered this morning at Stonehenge in England to celebrate
the solstice festival, which dates back thousands of years.
Specifically, the summer solstice is the moment when the sun is directly above
the Tropic of Cancer. This is the farthest north the sun ever moves in the sky,
which is why the days near the solstice have the most daylight of any days of
the year. Today, for instance, Washington, D.C., will have almost 15 hours of
daylight and only about nine hours of darkness.
You often hear that the summer solstice is the "official" beginning of summer,
although there doesn't appear to be any law or government proclamation that
makes the equinoxes and solstices the "official' changes in the seasons.
(Readers, care to weigh in on this below?)
The solstice is really only the astronomical beginning of summer. Meteorologists
consider summer to be the hottest three months of June, July and August, which
in terms of weather for those of us down here on Earth is more realistic than
mid-June to mid-September.
For example, don't tell the sun-baked residents of Laredo, Texas, that summer
starts only today… They've already endured 33 consecutive days of temperatures
of 100 degrees or higher, including a blistering 113 degrees last Friday. And
that's without a drop of rain since May 16.
The Climate Prediction Center's latest forecast for the remainder of summer is
for continued warmer-than-average temperatures for the southern tier of the USA,
and slightly cooler-than-average temperatures for the northern Rockies and
northern Plains.
