Thanks Renata,
While this is an informal research, it's insightful. Hope to hear
more on this from others too.

Gee a hard one to answer really. There have been some good magazines in the past, "Dark Cycle" which IMO, was a good balanced publication, perhaps a tad to the left for today's reader, but one I enjoyed. Then there was "The New Barbarian", another magazine that catered for those with somewhat darker tastes in the craft, but was a publication of considerable substance.
>
> What types of magazine writing do you like to read and/or you'd like to see??
Well my taste run to more "Tell it like it is" stuff without the sugar coating. I'm not into the "Age of Aquarius New Age modern wishful thinking airy fairy stuff". Nor the "goodie two shoes, wouldn't say shite for a shilling" stuff. But I'm realistic enough to know that magazines with the content appealing to me and those who liked The New Barbarian would not be big sellers. Commercially, magazines with a more "fluffy" content will sell better

No.

I don't know, but contributing articles or even conveying your thoughts to the editor of a magazine you feel reflects your tastes is a start.
Cotty.
PS Spellcraft isn't my cup of tea, so if my response wins please give the prize to someone who will enjoy it. C.

They vary. Specifically; Spellcraft is very professionally put together for a minority interest magazine.
>
> What types of magazine writing do you like to read and/or you'd like to see??
Well there is the rub. Anything that can be written for public consumption is probably of little interest to me. That said, I'm sure the content of Spellcraft does suit it's target audience, and serves a purpose in the overall scheme of things.
>

No.
>
> How can the pagan community contribute to pagan publications?
As I do not consider myself part of the Alleged "Pagan Community" I probably can't answer that definitively. But IF mags like Spellcraft do ring your bell, then support them by subscribing, writing things to send them. If articles are beyond your expertise, then letters to the editor are good. Mags about Paganism/Witchcraft are special interest publications appealing to only a small minority of the population and because of that will usually struggle to survive. If you want them to, then get behind them in whatever way you feel comfortable with.
Bill ( who doesn't want to win, and just as well because my opinions are rarely popular)
