Notes:
Come along, have a picnic and meet those of like mind. It's a fun day of laughter, chatting and meeting new people.

The park is beautiful, it's next to the lake with a playground for the kids and toilet facilities including a disabled toilet.

Coffee and tea are available (gold coin donation appreciated). Bring along a picnic lunch or if you wish to cook up a feast use the BBQ facilities. But if cooking is not on your agenda, there are shops within walking distance.

Just look out for the colourful marquee and banner. Even if it's raining, Pagans in the Park is still on, we'll be sitting under the large undercover area at the front of the park.

We have a "Topic of Discussion" for each of these gatherings. These are informal "talks" that start at 1pm and, while we may begin the conversation, we look forward to hearing everyone's opinions and takes on the topics – just bring an open mind!!!

Thanks Glenys. I wonder if the smh would be interested in publishing this angle on these ridiculous predatory buffoons. Yoga and tai chi for heaven's sake. They're jealous. The two oldest medicinal practises of the world's oldest continuous civilizations - but no, they're somehow "Satanic".

Quantum physics and macrobiotics must also be Satanic, because Priests don't understand them and they are invisible. Oh, gravity too. And electricity.

Honestly, a federation of practitioners and teachers should sue these idiots for making undemonstrable libellous claims which potentially damage their business.

If you want to see evidence of Satanism, look no further than the institution of Catholicism, which exhibits all the signs of demonic possession: corruption, immorality, perversion, unnatural practises, hatred of natural processes, division and inhumanity, a history of torture and murder, and belief in lies and other insanities.

Still getting tax benefits. Do yoga teachers and tai chi teachers get this?

Argh. Too nice a day to think about this. I'm off to the beach!

This is Riognach O'Geraghty-Howard here (Ken Howard's other half)

Regarding the purchase of Mandrake Roots - I understand this site is in
the US; therefore _any plant material_ will be irradiated prior to being
allowed into Australia, if it is allowed in at all. AQIS are
exceptionally vigilant about any plant material entering the country.
The chances are very good that both Mandrake plants and seeds will be
destroyed by AQIS.

How right you are..last november I had a friend ship me some home made
jewelery
from Arizona in the box she also put in a sage smudge stick and two bags
of sage and thyme herbs..
when I recieved my package the box had been opened by quarantine of course
they
sealed it again customs put a note in the box to tell me that it was opened
because
they detected herbal matter... giving me the option of paying to send it
back to my
friend in Arizona or simply they would destroy and if I wanted I could
view
them destroying the stuff..If they didn't hear from me in 30 days it would
be destroyed
at no cost to me..so of course they never heard from me..:-))

Yep pretty pointless people from overseas gifting you with herbs ..
most especially buying them from overseas..you are simply throwing your
money away...

I wonder if one can order live mandrake through nurseries? They get exotic foreign stuff. If it isn't illegal (ie a drug) then should be theoretically possible. One would hope...

Might mean having to import seeds and grow from scratch.

All Adult Pagans Welcome!

Join us for a celebration of Samhain.
At this magical time of year we honour our depths, as the seasons turn and
we journey into the dark time of year.  We also honour our roots and
celebrate our ancestral heritage, acknowledging the gifts of those who
have gone before.

What to bring:
A plate of
ancestor-inspired food to share. No alcohol, no drugs.
Something
for the Ancestor Altar, e.g. a photo of a beloved ancestor
 
What to
expect:
Darkness is descending in Australia and at this
time of year we gather to honour our beloved dead. We cast the Circle,
ensuring it is secure. The priestess crone reads out names of our beloved
dead* followed by those who also wish to call upon their own beloved
dead.  We will honour our dead together and individually
we will have the opportunity to honour our ancestors at
each of the elemental altars, under the care of a
priestess/grace. We will then close with a slow and solemn spiral trance
to walk between the worlds and share a few moments of time out of
time, whilst honouring those who came before us and those who will come
after us. Later, we will share a supper with all the souls who
gathered.

*If you wish
the crone to read out the names of your beloved dead, please
email their names, a short description/relationship/history/story to astrojazz@bigpond.com.au To
ensure correct pronunciation, please phonetically spell names that may be
difficult. This invitation extends to those who are unable to attend the
ritual.
 
Please Note: As we will be doing extended trance work in the ritual, it will not be appropriate for young children to attend.  However, teenagers are welcome.
