Merry Meet,
The second solution is what I would use. You would need to apply it at least
once a week. You need to spray all plants that has the aphids. Aphids do
travel. Are you spraying into the soil? Adding a hot pepper might scare them
off.

If your plants are not in direct sunlight you might want to add a little cooking
oil to the soap and water. The cooking oil will act as a sticker.

I sprayed soap, water and alcohol once. I use q tips, dipped in alcohol to rid
of some bugs.

Caution tho if your plants are in the sun. Some plants are sensitive and will
burn. I usually tend to my outdoor plants with home recipes on over casted,
rainy days.
Hope this helps?
Blessed Be
Lady Ckrystal Hawk

I'm hoping someone else will have a really good home solution for us.

My husband bought me a really lovely mini rose plant for Mother's
Day...which, as its species is prone to doing, then attracted aphids.
We followed the first remedy I've got, which is to take the plant
outside and forcefully spray it to get the webs and the bugs gone.
They were back a week later so we went to the second solution: 1 part
dish soap to 4 parts water and spray vigorously after using the first
treatment.

They're back, and they've spread to the cacti and the succulents. Any
other suggestions? I am not willing to let nature take its course
here. The rose is important to me and some of the succulents and cacti
are specimens I CANNOT replace as they were sent by friends from as
far away as the deserts of Africa.

Elder's Meditation of the Day

"It does not require many words to speak the truth."

-- Chief Joseph, NEZ PERCE

The truth shall set you free. This is the truth. When we speak the Truth, we do not need to be defensive. Truth needs no defense. When we speak the Truth, we do not need to attack because Truth cannot be attacked. It is so easy to want to manipulate or to be deceitful or dishonest. My head tells me I can get away with doing these things, after all everybody does it.

My Creator, today let me know Truth. Let me live Truth. Let me risk the Truth. Let me make the Truth sweet. Help me to make my word good. Let Your spirit and intent be added to by words. Let My thoughts be Truth.

Animals and Aromatherapy

Posted by: "Lady Nightshayde" LadyNightshayde9@aol.com   nightshayde99

Animals and Aromatherapy

Animals have sensitive senses of smell, so in most cases it is best to use
oils that are diluted and always provide an escape route. If a pet does not
like an oil do not enforce its use. Cats are particularly at risk for oil
reactions and in most cases we use oils very sparingly on cats. One drop of
essential oil diluted in 50 drops of a pure dilutional oil such as grape
seed oil is usually sufficient.

Since animals metabolize and react differently to essential oils, it is
important to know about species-specific differences before using oils. One
problem we see in our clinic involves people overusing oils. A person
discovers essential oils and begins to diffuse the oils into their homes
leading to an unintentional overdose for their pets. Lavender oil is highly
useful, but it contains no antioxidant compounds and can therefore oxidize
as it is stored. These oxidized alcohols can aggravate patients and lead to
the development of allergic responses.

Some essential oils can cause liver and kidney toxicity in sensitive
species. Cats use a different system in their liver to detoxify and are
particularly sensitive to essential oils that contain polyphenolic
compounds. These are so-called "hot" oils like cinnamon, oregano, clove,
wintergreen, thyme and birch, which are oils that should be avoided in cats.
Cats should not receive melaleuca oil, and never put essential oils into the
ear canal as they can damage cats' delicate ear drums and nerves. Care is
needed around eyes as well. Always wash your hands after handling oils to
prevent accidentally getting them into your eyes.

To reduce the chances of sensitivity and organ toxicity, we generally use an
oil for no more than two weeks and then provide a rest period. Under certain
circumstances -- like in the treatment of cancer -- we will use oils for
longer periods.

The Dark Pagan's Rede

Posted by: "Lady Nightshayde" LadyNightshayde9@aol.com   nightshayde99

Mon Jul 18, 2011 1:13 am (PDT)

The Dark Pagan's Rede

For those who walk a shadowed path for whatever reason
because it is a path in your soul that calls to you, a particular
goddess of dark Paganism that calls to you or who you are,
Trust your heart and follow what it speaks, as it will never be wrong.

We are Witches, We Are Ancients
Those that stand out among shadows
We are weavers, healers and shamans, and warriors
Judge and Jury
And This is our Creed.

Do not Offend, But Defend
Give your kin a house if they have no home
Remember in all forms are we the goddess's children in one way or another
She is the weaver, the threader and the cutter of Life
No matter what name she is called, she is the Great Mother, The All, The
Source
Know the Great dance and the Spiral is never ending and your day's
walk long, and most often someone will try and break your paths
But when the wolves tear at your heels, remember only the hardest
paths are the paths worth Walking.

Life will not be without troubles, fights, hardships
And we are not Witches to get nor gain
For that is but an empty path that leads too greed and the ruin of
your soul.

We are the Witches, singers, shamans, dreamers, weavers, healers and
warriors of the wild winds, in the storms and in the fury of the storm
and of Life. Our knowledge is all knowing, yet we continue to learn
things everyday, as is our right.
Treat your kin with as much respect as you wish too be treated and
you cannot be led astray.
Treasure every day as it were your last, cherishing the beauty of all
life and all things.
Protect this rugged Earth Mother as best you can. Honor her. Even if
it is but a Rock, know that it too has its own spirit. Life is
everywhere, and magick can be breathed in as its purest essence.

Know as the Goddesses child, no matter what you call her she is always
there beside you, inside you and with you. Believe this always and you
will never be forsaken, even when there is a lesson too be learnt that
she must teach you, even if that lesson whips you across the face,
it has purpose and reason.

Keep your eyes and your ears open, and listen not only with the
physical eye, but the astral ones, for their are signs in all things.
In the wind, the rain, the sky and the deep earth.

Never look back on your past until you feel you are ready, and
remember we have a long way too go.

There is Strength in the Darkness, In Shadows and also in The Light,
And shadows cannot exist without Perfect balance of Light and Dark.

20 Ways to Add More to Your Life

20 Ways to Add More to Your Life
posted by Dr. Frank Lipman Jul 18, 2010 5:01 pm

When I qualified as a Doctor at 25 years old, I thought I knew everything there was to know about health and medicine. By the age of 30, I realized my medical training was limited and I didn't really know much about health and wellness. So I went on a journey of discovery to expand my horizons and studied acupuncture, Chinese medicine, Functional medicine, nutrition, yoga and Buddhism. By 50, I realized my life training was limited too as my daughter (a teenager at the time) was pointing out "how stupid" I was. And now that I am 55, I realize I have amassed a lot of knowledge but have so much more to learn.

As I get older and hopefully wiser with every year, certain insights become clearer. Here are some of them gleaned from the wisdom I have gained from 30 years of marriage, having a 22-year-old daughter, 30 years of practicing medicine and being a perpetual student of life.

1. More Real Food, Less "Food-like Substances"
2. More Fruit and Vegetables, Less Sugar, Wheat and Corn
3. More Organic, Less Toxic
4. More Chewing, Less Eating
5. More Water, Less Soda

6. More Recycling, Less Waste
7. More Walking, Less Driving
8. More Exercising, Less Watching TV
9. More Outdoors, Less Indoors
10. More Sleep, Less Worry
11. More Calm, Less Chaos
12. More Being, Less Doing
13. More Consciousness, Less Ignorance
14. More Smiles, Less Anger
15. More Love, Less Hatred

16. More Play, Less Serious
17. More Letting Go, Less Holding On
18. More Forgiving, Less Blaming
19. More Generosity, Less Greed
20. More Ubuntu, Less Me!

Ubuntu means what makes us human is the humanity we show each other. It is a Xhosa (South African) word and philosophy emphasizing community, sharing and generosity.

As Archbishop Desmond Tutu says: "Ubuntu is about the essence of being human, it is part of the gift that Africa will give the world. It embraces hospitality, caring about others, being able to go the extra mile for the sake of others. We believe that a person is a person through another person, that my humanity is caught up, bound up, inextricably, with yours. When I dehumanize you, I inexorably dehumanize myself. The solitary human being is a contradiction in terms and therefore you seek to work for the common good because your humanity comes into its own in belonging".

salt and herbal Breaking Bad Luck Spell  (Monday Share a spell Day)

Salt and Herbal Breaking Bad Luck Spell
Here's an each charm to shake up negative energies and move them out of your house. If you've had a run of bad luck lately and can't seem to find out what's causing it, give this a try. For each room in your house, you will need:
1 cup sea salt
2 1/2 cups bottled spring water (or water from a clear stream, lake,or river)
1 teaspoon dried rosemary
1 teaspoon dried lavender
1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper
juice of one lemon
You will also need:
A spike of quartz crystal (you will be able to reuse this, but don't use your favorite if you're worried that it might fracture)
A bowl for each room (glass or plastic; don't use metal)
Wait until the day before the new moon. First, clean your house, clearing out cobwebs and dust (this is important: negative energy and chaos thrive in dusty areas).
In a large stainless steel or enamel pan (don't use aluminum) mix the water, rosemary, lavender, and cayenne. If you are making enough for several rooms, yo don't need to make separate bathes; just put all the water and herbs in one big pot. Bring to just below a boil and simmer for ten minutes. Cool to room temperature and strain.
Add the lemon juice and the salt. Stir clockwise with a wooden spoon to dissolve salt. Add crystal and let sit at room temperature for thirty minutes remove crystal and let sit at room temperature for thirty minutes. remove crystal and divide liquid into the number of bowls needed. Place one bowl in the middle of each room that you wish to cleanse. Leave uncovered. Rinse crystal in lukewarm water and set aside.
If you have children or animals, put the bowls where they can't be reached. Do not drink this mixture. Leave the herbed water overnight. Salt water absorbs negative and chaotic energies. the herbs act as an extra booster, since they are used in magical practices for purification, clarity, cleansing, and protection.
The next morning, pour the water down the drain and run cold water after it for a few minutes to flush it out of your pipe. Do this only if you are on a sewer system. If your house has a septic tank, take the water to the nearest body of running water (a river, a stream, or ocean), or way out into a field or forest, and dispose of it there. Don't pour it onto any pants, the salt won't do them any good.
wash the bowls with soap and water. I do this regularly every month or so to keep my home free of chaotic energy, which attracts bad luck and negativity. And remember--sometimes we are the ones who make our own bad (and good) luck. Always pay attention to what you might be doing to cause an uncomfortable situation, and also be on the lookout for opportunities to bring new and wonderful changes to your life.
