It seems almost impossible, but for the second day in a row the cosmos appears ready to negotiate a truce with humanity. Since much of what happens on a daily basis is often a good number or multitude of challenging alignments, it is very refreshing when a lack of discordant aspects is what is making the headlines.
Today's double helpers are a flowing trine of 120-degrees from the Moon in Pisces to Venus in Cancer (11:44AM PDT) as well as an insightful Mercury-Jupiter parallel (3:59PM PDT) - similar in nature to their union in the zodiac. The Moon in splendid harmony with Venus is great for all women, for strengthening feminine issues, and for anyone wanting to make a fresh start in matters of the heart and in the creative arts. Cooking, baking, gardening and water sports (weather-permitting) are galvanized. The Mercury-Jupiter connection is a boost for overall communications, literary pursuits and educational endeavors.
A Venus-Chiron frictional, 135- degree link (10:55PM PDT) can still be managed successfully if you proceed with caution in romance and business matters. Don't be surprised if you feel an urge to heal old wounds and pains that have been haunting you in recent weeks.

Simple Solitary Sabbats
Celebrating the Sabbats can easily be done as a solitary, because celebrating
doesn't have to be extravagant and complicated. The spirit of it is the most important thing. Start out simply. In this way you can build up your own special holiday traditions. Having simple celebrations also is courteous to people you may live with who are tolerant of Wicca, but don't share the same beliefs. The following is a condensed summary of what each Sabbat pays tribute to, along with ideas of how to symbolize that in your own celebration.
On the Winter Solstice, the Goddess gives birth to the God, the Sun. This is a time of promise and hope. The Winter Solstice is the first day of Winter, and the daylight hours begin to increase after this day. This can be marked by lighting candles or a fire, and putting up strings of lights. Decorate a Yule tree, make a wreath, decorate your space with ivy, holly, and mistletoe.
On Imbolc, February 2, the Goddess recovers from giving birth. The God is
now a young boy. We can see at this time the first early signs of Spring. It is
a time of purification and inspiration, and for fresh change. Place a broom by
the front door to symbolize sweeping out the old and welcoming the new, make
a Brighid's Cross and Bride's Bed, do some Spring cleaning. This is also a
perfect time to do an initiation or dedication ritual.
The Spring Equinox is the first day of Spring. The Goddess enfolds the earth
with fertility. The Spring Equinox is about beginnings and putting plans into
action for growth in your life. Traditional activities include dyeing eggs,
planting seeds, ringing bells, and buying a new besom.
Beltane, on May 1, marks the God emerging from adolescence into manhood. The
earth and sun have an abundance of energy. The God and Goddess fall in love and unite, and the Goddess becomes pregnant. Beltane celebrates vitality, fertility, passion, love, and desires consummated. Gather flowers, make a Maybasket, enact the Great Rite. Collect river water or spring water and wash your face with it for health, luck, and beauty. Decorate with flowers, ribbons, and a maypole.
The Summer Solstice has the longest daylight hours of the year, being the first day of Summer. Nature is at its peak. It is marked with festivals of fire, celebrating fertility, health, and love. Spend time outdoors by going on a picnic, leaving food out for the Fae, and gathering herbs. The Summer Solstice is a classic day to practice all kinds of magick for various goals.
Lammas, on August 1, is the middle of summer and the beginning of the harvest, a time to reap the fruits. Summer is waning, and the God begins to lose his strength. Lammas is a time to give thanks for all we've been given and is a reminder that nothing is constant. You could visit fields, bake bread, make a corn dolly, offer thanks through a ritual.
On the Autumn Equinox, Fall begins. The harvest is completed, and Nature, the God, and the Goddess, ready for their time of rest. This is also a day of rest after our hard work. Try your hand at making wine, take a walk in the woods, scatter offerings in harvested fields. Decorate with acorns, pine cones, and vines.
Samhain, October 31, is the Pagan's New Year's Eve. The God is slain, yet lives on inside the Goddess as her unborn son. Samhain is a time for reflection, looking back over the past year, and coming to terms with death. Practice a form of divination, honor your ancestors, roast nuts and pop some popcorn. Decorate with hazelnuts, seeds, apples, and pumpkins.
Also, certain foods and beverages are traditionally associated with the Sabbats, so it's always fun and gives a feeling of connectedness to partake in those. To practice rituals in a tight space like a bedroom, move furniture out of the way and spice up the place with seasonal decorations.

For Psychic Dreaming

For Psychic Dreaming:
On the first night of the full moon, combine Mugwort, Patchouli, Cedar shavings, Oak Moss, ground Cardamom and Lavender. Lace them with oil of Patchouli, Wisteria, Lemon Grass and Sandalwood.
Pour the mixture in a glass jar or bowl along with a small cleansed crystal and cover it. The jar should be set outside where it can catch the moon's rays. Be sure to bring it in again before the sun comes up. Do this for 3 nights in a row.
Use the mixture (crystal included) to stuff a small pillow case made of muslin. This can then be inserted into a cover made of black, deep blue or purple velvet. Trim the pillow with fringe or tassels and, if you wish, embroider a pentagram, crescent moon, small stars or runes on it.
This Magick Pillow may be placed by your regular one on a night when you wish to have a Psychic dream. Be sure to keep a journal and pen next to your bed along with a candle or oil lamp to record the visions that will come.

Staying Afloat
Riding the Wave of Life
While riding the wave of life you must also practice stillness so you can flow with, rather than resist the wave’s motion.
Our lives are continually in motion, buoyed by the wave that is the universe’s flow. As the wave rises and falls, we are carried forward, through life’s high and low points. The universe’s flow may take us to a place in life where we would rather not be. As tempting as it can be to fight the direction and size of this wave that propels us, riding the wave is intended to make life easier. When you ride the wave, your life can evolve naturally and with minimal effort. Riding the wave, however, is not a passive experience. It is an active process that requires you to be attentive, centered, and awake. You must also practice stillness so you can flow with, rather than resist the wave’s motion.
Because life is dynamic and always changing, it is when we try to make the wave stand still or resist its direction that we are likely to get pulled under by its weight. If you try to move against the wave, you may feel as if you are trapped by it and have no control over your destiny. When you reach a low point while riding the wave and find your feet touching bottom, remember to stay standing so that you can leap forward along with the wave the next time it rises. Trying to resist life’s flow is a losing proposition and costly because you waste energy.
Riding the wave allows you to move forward without expending too much of your own efforts. When you ride the wave, you are carried by it and your head can “stay above water†as you go wherever it takes you. It can be difficult to trust the universe and let go of the urge to fight life’s flow, and you may find it easier to ride the wave if you can stay calm and relaxed. Riding the wave will always take you where you need to go.

The first few hours today can be very productive - particularly as the Moon in late Pisces nears a flowing trine of 120-degrees to the Sun in late Cancer. This solar-lunar rapport becomes precise at 4:16AM PDT - offering a showering of inspiration, but also starting a 5+ hour void lunar cycle that lasts until 9:26AM PDT. Having only 5+ hours of void activity is almost a thrill - considering the lengthier time-periods for these strange lunar meanderings during much of the first three weeks of July.
Once the Moon darts into fiery Aries (9:26AM PDT), you can become highly productive across the board since the lunar orb also makes its monthly union with the largest asteroid Ceres (10:34AM PDT). By the way, Ceres is slowing down in motion as it prepares for a station and shift into retrograde motion on Tuesday July 26. Nevertheless, for today there are terrific opportunities to take great leaps forward in arts, crafts, hobbies and your main fields of expertise.
Primary partnerships have a new glow - thanks to a supportive, 60-degree rapport between the Sun in Cancer and Juno in Virgo (5:44PM PDT). This alignment can also make you more fashion-conscious and eager to expand your wardrobe.
Adding a touch of excitement, eccentricity and out-of-the-box thinking is the monthly Moon-Uranus union (6:31PM PDT). Catch up with high-tech interests and computer work.
