Some dreams are big enough to share

Posted by: "Theresa Chaze" tirgana@yahoo.com   tirgana

Some dreams are big enough to share.  When I was 12 years old and I
wrote a poem for my mother as a Mother's Day gift, it was the
beginning.  When other people daydreamed about being their favorite TV
or film character, I would invent my own character and totally change
the story.  The first short story I wrote was the first time my soul
really breathed and I found my place in the world.

Since then there have been many stories.  Each had their place.  Each
taught me something new about myself and the world.  In the 1990's I
wrote Never Can Say Good-bye.  Me being me, I sent it to my favorite
actress Katherine Hepburn.  I wanted her to star in it as Amanda.  I got
two very nice notes from her, saying that she though it was wonderful,
but she had retired.  Life and other challenges changed my life's path
for a while.

Three years ago my life changed again.  I was a big fan of Days of Our
Lives since Dark Shadows ended, but the writing had gotten so bad that
the show was unwatchable.  Me being me, I knew I could do better. I
started writing alternative storylines and posting them on the NBC Days
of Our Lives boards.  It was just to be snarky.  But it actually turned
into something.  I had people from around the world asking me to finish
the story.  So I did.

I didn't get the head writer gig, but it did start me writing script
again. I created Operation Home Base after talking to a friend who used
to work at Red Cross. She was one of the workers who took and received
messages for military personnel. Although what she did wouldn't sustain a
series, it was a starting point. I combined the concepts behind some of
my favorite series like MASH and NCIS, but it wasn't enough. OHB had to
be more. When you serve, it is not a single individual who is in harms
way; it is everyone who loves them.

Once the pilot and first season Bible were finished, I started looking
for a production company to partner with me.   Through a series of
coincidences and

I turned my attention to Never Can Say Good-bye.  It was good script, but I could do better.  I rewrote it.

I also saw a need for good entertainment. Most of the new shows are what
I call chip beef--chippies in bikinis and beef cake. People who are of
an age don't care to watch teenie bopper and twenty-somethings having
indiscriminate sex. We want characters with personalities and plots that
make sense. Also it would nice to sit down as a family to watch TV
without the parents being worried what inappropriate thing was going to
happen next.  Never Can Say Good-bye is about romance, love and family.

We have all these amazing people.  What we don't have is the financing.
We have joined with Kickstarter to prime the pump for our financing.   I
am asking for your help to make this happen.  The minimum is a dollar.
The incentives start at 25.00.   If you know of anyone who has the
ability and desire to create good entertainment, please share this email
and links.

Described as a woman who has the courage to play with dragons, Theresa Chaze has gone where fools and angels fear to tread and has flourished.  To read the treatment of her military series, Operation Home Base and excerpts of her screenplays go to her site at www.theresachaze.com
Courage isn't the lack of fear, but the ability to set it aside and  focus on what is truly important

Homer, The Odyssey

Posted by: "Cher Chirichello" CHIC0411@YAHOO.COM   chic0411

Thu Jul 14, 2011 8:18 pm (PDT)

Then we met the magician Circe. Lions and mountain
wolves walked peacefully with her, enchanted by her
presence. They came up to the sailors, tails wagging,
making friendly gestures, fawning like dogs do when
their owners return home from dining our, fawning like
dogs do when they hope for treats; so these wild animals
acted, animals with claws and fangs, in the presence of
this enchantress.
~Homer, The Odyssey

Like may other powerful ancient Goddesses, the Greek divinity Circe was
later demonized, turned into a figure that evoked fear and distrust.
Originally, Circe was a sun Goddess, at home on her bright island whose
circular shape was that of the solar sphere - an image echoed in her
name as well. But as newcomers to her lands rejected the feminine power
she embodied, Circe was demoted to a voluptuous temptress-witch who
threatened wandering Ulysses. Yet her original power was never utterly
lost; it shines through the words of ancient poets like Homer.

Women today can be similarly demonized for showing strength or passion or
will or drive. But, as the above description of Circe shows, the natural world is not threatened by women's powers. If no harm comes from what
we do, why should we thwart our natural energies? There will always be
those who try to diminish us. And we internalize their voices so that we forgot who we are. In figures like Circe, we find hints of woman's
power.

Goddess of The Day: Fuchi Mount Fuji Climbing (Japan)

Posted by: "Cher Chirichello" CHIC0411@YAHOO.COM   chic0411

Goddess of The Day: Fuchi
Mount Fuji Climbing (Japan)

Themes:  Inspiration; Courage; Safety (protection); Fire (ancient); Skill (sports); Relationships
Symbols:  Mountains; Fire

About Fuchi: This Goddess gave her name to the sacred volcano Fujiyama.  As a Fire Goddess, she rules natural energy (heat) sources, and also those generated in our hearths, homes, and hearts.  This energy, along with summer's sun, joins together in our life today, generating strength, endurance, keen vision, and relationships filled with genuine warmth.

To Do Today: July and August mark the climbing season at Mount Fuji.  For most people, attempting this is a pilgrimage of sorts dedicated to "climbing the mountain because it's there."  On a deeper level, however, the mountain houses the deities of Shinto tradition, challenging all who dare visit to stretch their limits and do their very best.  While most of us can't go to Japan to visit the goddess in her abode, we can climb stairs to help us reconnect with Fuchi's uplifting powers.  Today, instead of using elevators, climb stairs whenever and wherever possible.  As you do, visualize the area(s) in your life that could use a boost from Fuchi's energy, those areas that really challenge you somehow, or those where emotional warmth seems lacking.  When you reach for the top, claim your reward with some type of affirmation (such as I am strong, I am loving), and then act on this change with conviction!

Spell to Find a Sacred Stone

Spell to Find a Sacred Stone

One of my favorite activities is searching for magical stones. Magical
stones do not need to be precious or valuable, they only need to catch
the eye and remind us of the beauty of the place we found them. These
stones can be placed on our altar or in a special place. Stones are
magical because they help us feel grounded and more down-to-earth. To do this, you need only walk out into a natural setting on the Full Moon.
Be sure it's a place where you feel particularly peaceful and
spiritually uplifted. As you walk along your trail, allow your eyes to
soften their focus as you begin to look from side to side. As you walk,
ask the spirits of the land to help you find a special stone that you
can keep. Listen to the voice of the place-it may feel silent but there
are many tree, plant, and stone spirits that can communicate with you.
Listen to the land attentively and then keep your eyes peeled. You may
be asked to walk off the path a short ways. Or you may be led to a part
of the land you have never seen before. As you open up your heart to
receive communication, you may encounter a small rock that sings out to
you. This is the powerful rock that can help teach you the magic of the
land you're walking on. Give thanks and take the stone back to your
home. Honor it and the land it came from by placing it in a special
place in your house. ~Jonathan Keyes

Egyptian Health Salad Spell

Egyptian Health Salad Spell

Herodotus
noted that the builders of the pyramids ate onions, garlic, and
radishes to build up their strength. Anyone pursuing strength training
should eat these foods. Here’s a healthy Egyptian salad you may want to
start with: Mix lettuce, sliced radishes, and diced onions. Chop one
clove of garlic and add to one part olive oil and two parts balsamic or
wine vinegar. Mix and pour over salad. The Egyptians also liked hot red
pepper in their saladsâ€"add some if you’re brave enough! Egyptians also
liked cucumbers, and you can add your favorite salad vegetables. Feta
cheese and sun-dried tomatoes make nice additions. Eat this salad on
days when you work out. ~Denise Dumars
