Huge cloud of negative energy

Wed Mar 16, 2011 10:04 am (PDT)

...i am pagan, but unfortunately, i am also bi-polar. i am on meds for anxiety and anti-depression, but as hard as i try, i hear that i have a LOT of negataive energy around me and that i give out a lot of negativity. i am a pisces and have always been a pisces, this is not my first trip through life.
i am a pessimist, though i have fought my whole life not to be. and now am in danger of losing one of the biggest parts of my life.
meditation, prayers, devotionals, helping others, none of this is helping.
do you have any suggestions, other than meds and counseling and following my calling, to get this truly despised cloud away from me and to make it stay away... i am aching in my heart and the rest of me is just numb at the news that my 14 yr best friend, soul mate, feels they just can't handle the negative thoughts and comments anymore.
please help me to fix what i have fought my whole life to overcome and am now in danger of losing one of the most precious valuable people i have ever known.
thank you in advance.
most humbly
amber

Ponderings of the Events in Japan

Posted by: "Lady Nightshayde" LadyNightshayde9@aol.com   nightshayde99

Wed Mar 16, 2011 10:59 am (PDT)

March 16, 2011

Greetings...

The whole world is watching the aftermath of the 9.0 earthquake and tsunami,
and now, critical situation regarding the dangerous nuclear situation in
Japan...

I've watched in horror the devastation that Mother Nature unleashed and
the devastating casualties that will not be fully known for quite a while...

Tragedies such as this can bring out the best in humans, and the worst. The
Japanese have a culture that is built on respect and control and this has
been obvious in the way they are handling this catastrophic event in their
country. There is no rioting, no looting, and a control I don't think I
have ever seen in situations less catastrophic...

Can we say the same when it comes to disasters in our country? Yes and no.
We are quick to help those in need whether in our country or elsewhere,
but there are always countless reports of mobs turning the areas hit with
disasters into battle and crime zones...

Humans are "interesting" for a lack of a better term right now. We cry
for our own and for strangers suffering, we offer what we have to those
in need, and we rush to help those who need our help...

That is the best behavior that is shown, but there is another side isn't
there?

We humans also kick people when they're down, steal from those in need,
and put our own wants and needs ahead of those who may be more deserving.
The other thing we humans do is, open our big mouths when we should keep
things to ourselves or not say them at all, at least publicly, and of
course, we like to "joke" for our own amusement and for those who may
be one of those who hang onto every word a celebrity, politician, or
faux news personality that say things without conscience or basic good
taste...

I will be the first to admit my sense of humor may be "over the top" at
times and I can honestly say there probably isn't any situation that I
can't find humor in, but I know better than to say it out loud or in
front of people. Jokes can be a way of releasing anxiety and can be
taken as a sign or nervousness. I get that, but in the past few days,
there have been jokes and comments made by "people in the news" that
have made me cringe. In case you haven't heard some of the comments,
here are a few and the people that made them...

Glenn Beck...

"I'm not saying God is, you know, causing earthquakes," Beck told his
radio listeners on Monday, before throwing in, "I'm not not saying that
either."

"What God does is God's business. But I'll tell you this -- there's a
message being sent," Beck continued. "And that is, 'Hey you know that
stuff we're doing? Not really working out real well. Maybe we should stop
doing some of it.' I'm just saying."

We know exactly what you're saying Beck and for that matter, what you're
ALWAYS saying. See a doctor, I'm sure there are meds that would help...

Larry Kudlow...

"The human toll here looks to be much worse than the economic toll, and
we can be grateful for that," CNBC financial analyst Larry Kudlow remarked
on Friday. Realizing the blunder, Kudlow added that "the human toll is a
tragedy, we all know that."

Too late Kudlow, you couldn't back peddle, money is more important than human
lives...

Dan Turner, a top official working for Mississippi Gov. Haley Barbour,
resigned on Monday after reports surfaced that his routine Friday e-mail
contained jokes about, among other topics, the disaster in Japan. The
email he passed around?

"Otis Redding posthumously received a gold record for his single, "(Sittin'
on) The Dock of the Bay." (Not a big hit in Japan right now.)"

Then there are the celebrities...

Gilbert Gottfried, the squeaky, (and creepy) comic who was, (he got canned
after his outburts), the voice of the Aflac duck sent a barrage of what
he thought were funny Tweets, such as...

"I just split up with my girlfriend, but like the Japanese say, 'There'll be
another one floating by any minute now."

Rapper 50 Cent showed plenty of ignorance in the Tweets he posted...

"Wave will hit 8am them crazy white boys gonna try to go surfing."

Oh really, had anyone said "crazy black boys" we'd be hearing a whole
different can or worms...

"Look this is very serious people I had to evacuate all my hoess from LA,
Hawaii and Japan. I had to do it. Lol"

I guess putting "LOL" at the end was to throw us all off that you're a sexist
SOB and have a total disregard for women...

Of course, 50 clarified his remarks shortly after...

"Nah this is nuts but what can anyone do about it. Let's pray for anyone who
has lost someone"

"Some of my tweets are ignorant I do it for shock value. Hate it or love it.
I'm cool either way 50cent."

No you're not, you aren't worth 2 cents let alone 50 of them...

And last, but not least, ignorance from the Women's National Basketball Assoc.
Cappie Pondexter...

"What if God was tired of the way they treated their own people in there own
country! Idk guys he makes no mistakes."

"u just never knw! They did pearl harbor so u can't expect anything less."

Oh really? What has America done to get all that we have gotten and will
continue to get? We better be scared because based on your observations
Cappie, we're in deep doo-doo...

Cappie, as well as all of the above mentioned apologized for their insensitive
words and is there anyone out there that believes they are sorry for their
thoughts or jokes or sorry they got called on the carpet for them?

Things have a way of getting funny as time passes, but this disaster is fresh
and raw to the people of Japan as well as those around the world watching it.

This year will mark the 10th anniversary of the destructions of the Twin
Towers. The loss of life was minimal compared to the death toll in Japan
when and if they ever are able to count all the bodies. How inlamed would
we be as a nation of jokes were made literally 24 hours after that event
happened? Did I miss the jokes after Hurricane Katrina or did people have
the good sense in other countries to keep any jokes they may have had
to themselves?

There are those who do believe with all their hearts that God is trying
to send us a message and I woud just like to say this...

The God I believe in isn't a God that only loves America or Americans and
punishes other countries and their people of different faiths. The God I
believe in will judge us all individually and we will not get a free pass
by following those who may be popular or misleading. If I'm right, then
everyone needs to take inventory...

Mother Nature is reclaiming the planet that humans have been destroying for
thousands of years...

I agree. It is completely inappropriate and insensitive to make these sort of jokes and statements when the Japanese are still living with the horror of what happened. That anyone would try to insinuate that the Japanese are at fault for the earthquake and subsequent tsunami and radiation leaks is ignorant and beyond reprehensible.

I agree with your comments. I think that you have hit the ball out of the park!

Perhaps we should send you words to our Congress of Fools in D.C. They could use

Thank you Stormy.

Actually after I sent that reply I was thinking that Lady N. should have her own tv and/or radio air time once a week to express some of the thoughts and wishes of 13 Witches members.
If those people can get air time - why can't we???????

Beth,

I agree with your comments. I think that you have hit the ball out of the park!

Perhaps we should send you words to our Congress of Fools in D.C. They could use a wake up call on the power of positive energy as well! :-)

OT: Jeff Golliher: Moving Through Fear

Jeff Golliher: Moving Through Fear
Posted: 15 Mar 2011 08:55 AM PDT

I read anything I can get my hands on regarding fear. Because I figure if I can get rid of fear in my limbic system (home to the emotions) then everything else in my life will run very smoothly. In his book "Moving Through Fear: Cultivating the 7 Spiritual Instincts for a Fearless Life," Reverend Jeffrey Mark Golliher, Ph.D, cultural anthropologist and priest in the Episcopal Church lists five insights into the movement through fear and then seven ways we can cultivate a kind of immunity to the fear.
The foundation of his five insights start is this critical point: "Most of the fear that we experience, especially the harmful fear, seems to have a life of its won, when, in fact, it has no life at all except for the illusion of life that we give to it." Golliher makes an interesting point: true self-knowledge is usually not what we believe it is. The statement reminds me of two of Don Miguel Ruiz's four agreements in his classic book of Toltec wisdom, "The Four Agreements," that we must not take anything personally, and to never make assumptions. Most of our suffering, Ruiz says, can be avoided if we practice those two agreements.
The golden rule of fear, according to Golliher? To pay no attention to what the fear wants. And to remember that the power we give fear is really our own power and strength misguided and misdirected. And while I recognize that on an intellectual level, it still doesn't really do a damn thing when I'm looking fear in the eyes. However, I am going to list Golligher's five insights anyway because he says they have stood the test of time in his nearly 30 years of work as a priest and cultural anthropologist in a variety of roles and settings:
1. Fear can close our hearts, shape our emotional life, and freeze our attention, but the only power that fear has is the power that we give it. We can take that power back. What we need is to have some understanding of what we really want in life and why we want it.
2. The freedom we want the most is found beyond the fear that we avoid the most; and when we move through our very worst fear, we realize that, ultimately, there's nothing to be afraid of. (In other words, says Golliher, the most valuable truths about life are the ones that we learn for the sake of love.)
3. We don't need to become experts of fear to move through it. Rather we must strengthen our Spirit, which means cultivating the very spiritual instincts that our fear would have us neglect or ignore.
4. One fear contains the power of every fear within it. Burst the bubble of one fear, and all our other fears begin to lose their power over us too.
5. These two questions--"How can we move through our fear?" and "How can we become who we are meant to be?" -are, for all practical purposes, one and the same.

Amber, I think it's good to count the blessings in our lives. When I think about Japan and other tragedies, I feel incredibly lucky to have been given the life that I have. I'm not sure why I have been so blessed and protected, but when things happen it just renews my energy to live a good life and contribute as much as I can.

Will 'Super Moon' Bring Extreme Weather?

Will "Supermoon" Bring Extreme Weather?

On March 19, we'll be seeing this year's aptly named Storm Moon, and a lot of people are concerned about extreme weather events tied into this natural phenomenon. This month's moon will be passing closer to earth than it has in about twenty years, so it will appear significantly bigger and brighter in the sky. Scientists seem to be divided about whether there's a connection between the "supermoon" phenomenon and weather disasters.

On the one hand, Dr Tim O'Brien of the University of Manchester says that the dangers of the supermoon are overexaggerated, and that higher tides at a full moon aren't uncommon at all. On the other hand, you've got Dr Victor Gostin of Adelaide University, who says "there may be a link between large-scale earthquakes in places around the equator and new and full moon situations."

Supermoons in 1955, 1974, 1992 and 2005 all coincided with major disasters such as earthquakes, hurricanes and tsunamis. So, what does this all mean? Are we facing some sort of perfect storm of climatological carnage, or is it going to just be a few more high tides? No one knows for sure.

One thing that's certain, though, is that if you have the chance to check out next week's full moon, it should be a real beauty, because it's going to be closer to the earth than we've seen since about 1992.

Getting Rid of SPAM...and other E-mail Pests

Today's feature is recommended by a subscriber who declares, "This is a must-read for anyone who wonders why they get so much junk e-mail and what they can do about it! It is well-written and not technical." The Spamprimer is a product of Randy Cassingham, a respected online publisher who has several services of his own that he delivers to subscribers. He explains, "I also am a serious Internet user. I'm online most of the day, most every day. I don't want garbage streaming into my mailbox, but I do want to get the mail I have asked for, or that enables me to do my job." He shares his knowledge with the public by outlining 'the basics of spam, "phishing" and other e-mail pests, how they got your address in the first place - and what to do now that you're inundated.' Do take a few minutes to see how Internet users can help combat the problem and join in the organized efforts of groups that are trying to get 'common-sense information out to the people who matter - the victims of daily spam!'

Elder's Meditation of the Day

"Each of us must know in our minds and believe in our hearts that even though we are different, you are like me and I am like you."

-- Larry P. Aitken, CHIPPEWA

One of the definitions of humility is having an awareness of one's own character defects. To recognize and acknowledge that one has imperfections is being humble. We should never pray for ourselves unless by doing so it would help another person. To have self-importance puts self first and this is not humble. We each have strengths and we each have weaknesses. Both the strengths and weaknesses are sacred. Life is sacred. We learn sacred things from weaknesses also. Therefore, all lives are developed through trial and error, strength and weakness, ups and downs, gains and losses - all of these are part of life and life is sacred.

Great Mystery, let me see and know about the sacredness of life.

Students Protest 10 Commandments Removal

Students Protest 10 Commandments Removal
By Patti Wigington, About.com Guide March 9, 2011

A Ten Commandments display was removed from a Virginia high school last month, and about 200 students walked out Monday morning in protest. The display was removed from Giles High School following rumblings about a lawsuit from the American Civil Liberties Union and the Freedom From Religion Foundation. The students walked out of classes, and were met by parents and community leaders, who "prayed that the displays be returned to school buildings."

Several students announced that people who didn't like the Ten Commandments in schools should go live somewhere else, apparently forgetting that even people who don't share their beliefs are still, for now, permitted to exist in this country. After about an hour of protests, school officials asked students to return to class.

Some 200 of the school's 700 students participated in the protest, but a number of kids said they were "encouraged by other community/church leaders not to attend the walk-out." The Freedom From Religion Foundation responded with a statement that read, in part, "Public schools must treat all students, regardless of religious views, equally. It is clear that the Ten Commandments violation of ten years' standing has created a perception among some believing students that they are favored, and that other students are political outsiders. This divisiveness proves our point that religion has no place in public schools, because it creates walls between students."
