What is your Moon Lady N? Mine is in Cancer.

A Libra Moon sounds as if it fits what I've seen from you.

Well, thank you! Cancer is a great sign, the 'World 's Mother'--nurturing, loving, caring.
I was born during a Full Moon phase--Sun in Scorpio and Moon in Taurus; but at my birth time (3:33 AM, Nov. 17, 1948) the Moon had already moved 3 degrees into Gemini. So my Scorpio Sun sign wants to uncover secrets and keep them to myself, and my Gemini Moon wants to tell the world everything, LOL. I might also mention that the night of Nov. 16 is Hekate Night from sunset on the 16th to Sunrise on the 17th, so I am Hekate's daughter. Being born during a Full Moon phase when the Sun and Moon are directly in opposition means that during your life you will deal with opposites; being friends with several different generations of people, always being pulled in two different directions, etc. I have Libra, my Ascendant, to thank for helping me stay balanced.

Love Each Day,
Lady Nightshayde

The information at the end was very interesting. Thanks for that.
Last night I was running Scorpio sun, Libra rising through my head, along with what I have learned about you from your mails. My 3 guesses for your Moon were Taurus, Gemini or Virgo.

You know you gave all the info I need to run a chart on you - except birth place...................

Cancer Moon isn't  as great as it sounds. I get my heart broken every time I can't take a needy animal home. (Uranus conjunct Moon)

Cancer is at my Midheaven, which set the tone for this lifetime--home and family--human and otherwise. My kids used to bring home every stray they saw, and I did it quite often, too.

I was born in West Point, GA, which used to be relatively unknown until the new Kia factory opened up there about a year or so ago. I remember seeing a commercial of a kid riding a bike past a town sign with "West Point, Georgia" on it. I was floored!

Here in nothern Nevada we are suppose to have storms through the day and night, which means cloud cover, so I probably won't be able to see the super moon.

A 'Super Moon' Rises Tonight

Posted by: "Lady Nightshayde" LadyNightshayde9@aol.com   nightshayde99

Sat Mar 19, 2011 12:07 pm (PDT)

A 'Super Moon' Rises Tonight

A "Super Moon" will rise in the east at sunset on Saturday evening. This unusually large full moon -- known as a super "perigee moon" -- will be the biggest in almost 20 years, according to NASA.
"The last full moon so big and close to Earth occurred in March of 1993," says Geoff Chester of the U.S. Naval Observatory in Washington D.C. "I'd say it's worth a look."
Why the "Super Moon" label? "A 'Super Moon' is a situation when the moon is slightly closer to Earth in its orbit than on average, and this effect is most noticeable when it occurs at the same time as a full moon," says James Garvin, chief scientist at NASA's Goddard Space Flight Center in Greenbelt, Md.
It's so close because the moon's orbit around the Earth is not a perfect circle, but an ellipse, according to Weather Channel meteorologist Tim Ballisty.
When the Moon's orbit takes it the farthest away from Earth, the moon is at its "apogee," Ballisty says. When it makes its closest approach, the moon is at its "perigee."
So not only will it be a full moon Saturday, but it will also be at its perigee. This month's perigee will put the moon about 8% closer to Earth than usual, and about 2% closer to Earth than the average lunar perigee.
The best time to look at the full moon is when it's near the horizon. That is when illusion mixes with reality to produce a truly stunning view, NASA reports. Low-hanging moons look unnaturally large when they beam through trees, buildings and other foreground objects.
According to NASA and NOAA, although a perigee moon brings with it extra-high "perigean tides," it's nothing to worry about. In most places, lunar gravity at perigee pulls tide waters only about an inch or so higher than usual. Local geography can amplify the effect to about six inches.
Don't be concerned about other natural disasters, either: The Super Moon of March 1993, for instance, passed without incident. And an almost-Super Moon in December 2008 also proved harmless.
"The effects on Earth from a supermoon are minor," says NASA's Garvin, "and according to the most detailed studies by terrestrial seismologists and volcanologists, the combination of the moon being at its closest to Earth in its orbit, and being in its 'full moon' configuration (relative to the Earth and sun), should not affect the internal energy balance of the Earth, since there are lunar tides every day."
At its closest on Saturday night, the moon will pass by Earth at a distance of about 221,567 miles.

smells, who is near us...really puzzled about this

..i've been interested in different scents and smells most of my life. and i know that in the times that i have been having lately, that are so terribly stressful that my son and other little ones are very near.
yesterday evening i was sitting on the edge of the bed, and literally felt a small hand, of a younger child, not my son, tapping me on the back of the shoulder.
but, i keep smelling this molasses smell and also a honey syrup type of smell...it is not the incense i use, it is not the oil i use. that and a certain strong flower perfume that i simply cannot place, no matter how i concentrate or medidate on it...it is really a beautiful smell, well all 3 are, but i simply cannot figure out what they are to signal or portend for me that i keep smelling them at odd times...when i am not doing anything, or my mind is occupied, but my body is at rest..
who is trying to get my attention and make me notice when i can't figure out who they are ?? really puzzled

Spring Equinox

2011 Spring Equinox Packs a Wallop
March 18, 2011 at 5:00 am
By Psychic Verbena ext. 9615
Who can resist spring? The sun’s shining, flowers are blooming, and right now all of us in the Northern Hemisphere feel that zesty tingle that makes us want to scramble out of our well-worn ruts and do something!
Farmers, gardeners, astrologers, wiccans and pagans â€" and anyone else who’s aware of the effect of the sun’s migration and the earth’s seasonal cycles â€" know that in many ways the Spring Equinox is the true New Year. Astrologers will point out that the Equinox begins at the moment the Sun enters vigorous Aries, the first sign of the zodiac. Wiccans and pagans will tell you that each Equinox is the balance point between the goddess and the god (feminine and masculine, or yin/yang energies), and the Spring Equinox is the moment when the masculine force, emerging as Aries, takes over.

In fact, this is an ideal time to hunt up those New Year’s resolutions that have probably been gathering dust in a quiet corner since mid-January. Although the inwardly focused Winter Solstice is the perfect time to create your resolutions, this season of rebirth is the moment to act on them.

Grounding and Nurturing Your Dreams
Ceremonial seed planting is a lovely, traditional ritual that can really help you gather the inner and outer forces that you need to make your resolutions a reality, as well as give yourself a target time for completion.
Get the freshest possible seeds for something that grows aboveground during the summer for fall harvest, such as sunflowers, wheat or some other grain. Sunflowers are particularly good, because they’re large enough for you to actually write a one-word description of each resolution on each seed before planting… and because the effort you put into tending them yields really big, impressive results, exactly what you want your resolutions to yield, too. If you choose a grain, then write your resolution on a tiny piece of paper and bury in your rich soil near or beneath the seed itself.

When you plant the seeds, do it in a sacred way, either on the Solstice day itself, or within three days after the first New Moon following (which in 2011 is at 7:32 am PDT on April 3). Create sacred space by burning sage or incense, calling in the spirits of the four elements/directions, and asking your higher power, angels, spirit guides, power animals or saints for assistance. For extra pizzazz, prepare some special supercharged water by putting it outside during the Full Moon tonight (2011) with a favorite crystal or stone inside, and save it for your New Moon ritual. Plant and water the seeds and paper mindfully, asking for assistance with each. Thank your helpers when you’re done, and release the energy.

Each time you tend to your plant, make a brief ritual out of it, perhaps making fresh Full Moon water each month. And each time you tend to your resolutions, do the same. You’d be amazed at how these simple steps add power, focus and effectiveness to what you’re doing.

The Wallop

This year the typical Spring Equinox drive for achievement and change will be doubly strong thanks to shake-it-all-up influence of planet Uranus which, after a brief visit during May through August of last year, has now returned to Aries for a 7-year stay. What we have here is a world-changing partnership between freedom-loving, disruptive Uranus and warrior Aries.
This has both personal and global implications. People with points in their astrological charts in very early Aries, Cancer, Libra and Capricorn will feel this shift especially strongly, and will probably find themselves dealing with issues which surfaced briefly between May and August of 2010.

On a grander scale, this begins the second stage of a long-term (up to 140 years’) dance between transformational planetary heavyweights Uranus and Pluto. The first stage happened with their conjunction in 1965 and ’66, triggering revolutionary anti-war and human rights movements. Shortly before Uranus re-entered Aries a few weeks ago democratic movements sprang up in the Middle East and Africa, igniting a new phase of challenging old forms of business and government which will peak as Uranus conjuncts Pluto in 2012.

You can put this transformational energy to work in your own life now by honoring your own need for freedom and change, and working mindfully with these explosive energies to create new forms which benefit not only you, but everyone whose lives are impacted by your actions.

Elder's Meditation of the Day--March 19

Posted by: "Lady Nightshayde" LadyNightshayde9@aol.com   nightshayde99

Elder's Meditation of the Day - March 19

"There's a deep wound in people - that they have been so cut off from the source of their being, their mother, their Earth Mother."

-- Francis Story Talbott II (Medicine Story), WAMPANOAG

When we are connected to the Earth Mother, or when we are clear on our purpose, we will feel connected and safe. We will feel love. When we are disconnected from the Earth Mother, or we don't know who we are or why we are, we will feel pain. It will be similar to a little child who has lost its Mother. We will hurt insid - we will be wounded within. If this happens to the whole community, the people will be very sad and lost. It will seem like there is death in the air. When this happens, it is time for ceremony and reconnection to God and Mother Earth. This is the time of prayer.

Great Mystery, today, help me to stay connected to the Earth and to You, my Creator.

MM to the group, I have the worst time trying to meditate, I can't seem to quite my mind, and I feel this may be hindering me with making the necessary connections.

Can someone please help me with the simplest way my mind can grasp (lol) to meditate. I just can't do it :(

Do you ever 'zone out' while doing something routine like walking or washing
dishes? That is the state of mind meditation is like, and it was achieved
by the repetitiveness and routineness of the activities mentioned. To
purposely induce such a state, meditate, one of two techniques is usually
employed. 1) Using a mantra, a sound or syllable repeated over and over
again non-stop, or 2) Focussing on something like your breathing or a candle
flame. In both cases, the idea is to centre on the mantra/breath/flame and
let your thoughts only flitter around the outside of those things, not be
the centre of your attention. Never try to purposely drive out thoughts, as
that act itself interferes. Just let them float on through and out the
other side like clouds, while essentially ignoring them.

If your body is tense, you can do a relaxation sequence before beginning to
meditate. There are plenty of those on the internet. The basic sequence is
to clench and then relax your toes a couple of times, then your foot, then
your ankle, etc.up through the top of your scalp. Some proponents say to
skip the clenching first and only to relax, others say the tensing helps
your body note the difference. Good luck

BB,
Miki
