great pictures

That's the guy that is on Natl. Geo. Wild. Can't remember either his name or the bears...but he had to teach the bear all kinds of things the mom would have taught him. Like how to catch fish..but first he had to teach him not to be afraid of water. The guy goes out in nature all the time, but its great when he is shown with the bear. Thanks for the background and the pictures.

Road to Death

Only one picture came through for me..but I have seen these roads on tv. They are shown on a program called,"IRT Deadliest Roads". These are the same drivers that drove on snow & ice covered roads in Alaska.
The young woman doing some of the driving has a lot more guts than I would have.

Time for Topic Tag

Posted by: "Lady Nightshayde" LadyNightshayde9@aol.com   nightshayde99

Sun Oct 24, 2010 2:13 pm (PDT)

I'm going to do this week's Topic Tag.

What is your favorite movie haunted house?

I have so many it's hard to narrow the field.

I love the Overlook Hotel in The Shining; the Meyer's house in Halloween; the house in Rose Red; the house in The Haunting; the Bates house in Psycho. I'll have more to add later.

Love Each Day,
Lady Nightshayde

the house in "Haunting of Hill House" and both the old mansion (especially)
and the new house from Dark Shadows (I know it's not a movie, but the houses
were still really cool!).

I like the Overlook Hotel (Stanley Hotel in Estes Park, Colorado). I have been
in it many times. Apparently TAPS did find that there was paranormal activity in
it. When you walk around this hotel it does kind of creep you out! There is also
a pet cemetery there. I met the owner of this hotel this summer when we were
investigating the pet cemetery. It look like it could have been inspiration to
Stephen King's movie. Very similar to the one in the movie!

I actually been watching ghost adventures all day and they said that the
stanley inspired the shining, they did say they have animal ghost around but
didn't say anything bout a pet cemetery on the property.

I remember when that show aired about the Stanley Hotel. Stephen King had told the investigators that it was the inspiration for the Overlook Hotel in The Shining. I'd love to visit there.

The man that owns the Stanley has all their family pets buried in that
cemetery...so I have no doubt there are animal spirits there. This family had a
thing for Russian Blue's (cat), and they were allowed to roam the hotel years
ago.

Elder's Meditation of the Day--October 24

Elder's Meditation of the Day - October 24

"We create that bad among ourselves. We create it; then we try to call it devil, satan, or evil. But man creates it. There is no devil. Man creates the devil."

-- Wallace Black Elk, LAKOTA

Inside every human being are the laws and codes by which we should live. These laws and codes are communicated to us through a little voice. When we are still, this voice guides us. If we choose to live out of harmony, our lives become filled with anger, hate, selfishness, dishonesty, etc... When these things appear in our lives, we give up accountability and blame it on something or someone else. If we want to live in harmony, we need to pray our way back to living the principles the Creator gave us.

Grandfather, today let me walk with the principles.

You Are

Posted by: "Lady Nightshayde" LadyNightshayde9@aol.com   nightshayde99

Sun Oct 24, 2010 4:57 pm (PDT)

You Are

You are strong... when you take your grief and teach it to smile.

You are brave... when you overcome your fear and help others to do the same.

You are happy... when you see a flower and are thankful for the blessing.

You are loving... when your own pain does not blind you to the pain of others.

You are wise... when you know the limits of your wisdom.

You are true... when you admit there are times you fool yourself.

You are alive... when tomorrow's hope means more to you than yesterday's mistake.

You are growing... when you know what you are but not what you will become.

You are free... when you are in control of yourself and do not wish to control others.

You are honorable... when you find your honor is to honor others.

You are generous... when you can take as sweetly as you can give.

You are humble... when you do not know how humble you are.

You are thoughtful... when you see me just as I am and treat me just as you are.

You are merciful... when you forgive in others the faults you condemn in yourself.

You are beautiful... when you don't need a mirror to tell you.

You are rich... when you never need more than what you have.

You are you... when you are at peace with who you are not.

Love Each Day,
Lady Nightshayde

Re: Dedication Ceremony

Posted by: "Lady Nightshayde" LadyNightshayde9@aol.com   nightshayde99

Sun Oct 24, 2010 7:43 pm (PDT)

Greetings!
My son is to be dedicated on Samhain... I am looking for a dedication ritual for him. Does anyone have one they can share?
Thanks!

Well, there are some in our archives, but I can't find them. In case no one has noticed, our group has been changed. The group owners were notified about the 'new' yahoo, and given an option to take a look, and if you didn't like it, they would change the group back.

Well, I looked at it and didn't like it. When I requested them to change it back I was informed that they were eventually switching over ALL the groups to the new format, and the option to go back to the original was not available. By the way, it SUCKS. On the old home page, at the bottom the posts were listed by month and year--to make it easy to look for something. Now, there isn't anything there. As for message search, the one that is now on the home page yields NOTHING. You are given a place to click on a page from 1 to whatever. How do you know what page # you need if you don't know the month or year?

I hope enough group owners write yahoogroups and tell them how sorry the changes are. I have notified them several times, but received no response from them.

A VERY UNHAPPY Lady Nightshayde
