It is my thought that all of these doomsday prophecies are
misinterpreted. They don't indicate the end of the world, but
rather the end of the world as we know it. I see them as
indicating that the scourge of the patriarchal religions, such as
Christianity, and Islam, will end or weaken quite a bit, so that
other, more humane religions will take over. At least this is my
hope, but since I am 72, none of them will affect me personally.
I will be gone.
Of course there is another thought. Humans are overpopulating
the Earth rapidly and using up resources faster than ever before
in the history of the Earth. We don't need a doomsday calendar
to tell us that it won't be long before people will start dying
at great rates due to the lack of resources - clean air,
nutritional foods and water!

How deeply do I resonate with this message as I have been within this state on more than one stage in my life. Very inspiring piece I wanted to share with everyone. love, Shay
Ascension Insights --
Still Standing But Barely Breathing
Greetings!
October 20, 2010
Hi everyone,
When
I was going through a period that I would describe as one of the
darkest nights of my soul, I was overwhelmed by the cascade of events,
each one more challenging than the one before, that seemed to appear out
of nowhere, on an almost daily basis. I knew that this was a mistake,
that this was not my life and certainly not something I had volunteered
for on any level.
The
only way I could see to end the misery was to ask God to take me away.
So every night, when I went to bed, I thanked God for the opportunities I
had in this life, hoped that I had done some good in my life and asked
God to please take me home. Then every morning I would open my eyes and
say "Damn it, I'm still here."
Now I
didn't do this once or twice, I did it for six straight months. And I
would be so disappointed that each day I was still around to face the
issues that seemed to have no resolution. I was still standing, but
barely breathing. I still had my life but I was no longer involved in
it. Overwhelmed
with my problems, I had not really given up, I was just stuck in the
cycle of what seemed to be endless problems, not realizing that I was at
the source of this endless spiral of misery. How would this cycle end?
When I started breathing new life into my sleeping existence.
I
started breathing again and didn't happen overnight but through a series
of events that forced me to start looking at my life from a different
perspective and to consider other options. And as I did, other doorways
opened up and things started improving, slowly at first and then quite
rapidly. In less than six months I had a new job with a great salary,
moved into a new home and began measuring my life in terms of how fast I
was moving instead of worrying that I was going to stand still forever.
When
life gets really bad, and many of you know what that is like, we can
become the 'walking dead.' We're still alive and standing, but we are
not breathing any new energy into our lives. We can't because we don't
know where the energy is going to come from and are so grounded in our
unhappiness and despair that we can't even figure out how or where to
begin. Everywhere we turn we are reminded of the mess our life has
become. Will it change and can we change it?
We
look for help from others until the truth stares us in the face -- no
one can really help until we find the will within ourselves to create
the spark that will shift our energy. And we're engaged in a battle with
our dark feelings and thoughts at one end, and faith and trust at the
other. Which side will win?
At
that moment we have two choices, we can fall farther into despair or
wake up and realize that everything really is in our control. Once we
start moving the energy things can happen very quickly, as they did for
me. But getting to that point, from the place where we are drowning in
darkness, can feel very scary and lonely. Where is this spark going to
come from? It has three sources: our thoughts, feelings and faith.
Are
you going through a dark night of the soul? Have you stopped breathing
and even though you are still standing. Are you standing still, hoping
that if you can wait long enough the worst will be over soon so you can
figure out what to do next? Are you so overwhelmed by what you are going
through or have gone through that you are looking at the past and
forgetting that you need to live in the present moment to create
conscious change in your life?
What
will it take for you to breathe a new spark into your life? What
happens if you change one thought about your situation? Just pick one,
Instead of trying to figure out how you can change everything (and get
more overwhelmed), is there one thing you can change in your thinking
that will create an opening for the change you are hoping for to come?
What
is one thing you can change about the way you feel that will help you
get control over your emotions so you stop spiraling into despair? Can
you replace one hopeless feeling with faith, even if you do not have any
reason to believe (from the results you have had until that moment)
that anything will happen differently? We can't tell the Universe to
show us the results before we are willing to put our faith to work. But
if we change our thoughts, which changes the energy, set a new intention
and have faith that it will happen, we can start waking up and
breathing new life into our reality and start living again.
Stay calm, focused, detached and aware and remember your thoughts are creating every moment of your life. Think the best ones.
As you ponder this and the other things that are happening at this time remember to:
Accept all gifts of understanding with gratitude and use them to apply forgiveness, release and healing to every situation.
Ask for guidance and confirmation and then wait for it to come to you.
Above all, be grateful for this
opportunity to be part of humanity's amazing shift in consciousness as
we all ascend into the miracle vibration.
Many blessings in these miraculous and amazing times,
Jennifer Hoffman

Daily forgiveness
"As long as you don't forgive, who and whatever it is will occupy rent-free space in your mind."
-- Isabelle Holland
We cannot avoid daily resentment and
thoughts of guilt. They are a part of human nature. What we can do is
release their grip on us. We can forgive others and ourselves daily.
Forgiveness
requires nothing in return. There are no conditions. It gets rid of old
baggage and clears up unfinished business. It leads us to a life of
authenticity, lightness and directness. Forgiveness is the highest form
of letting go of resentment and ego.
True forgiveness is more than an
apology, understanding and acceptance. There is an element of recreating
and re-imagining. There is a need to envision ourselves as more loving,
interdependent, courageous and compassionate. Forgiveness requires
honouring the sacred journey of learning about life - our life and others'.
"Whatever we have done, we can always make amends for it without ever looking back in guilt or sorrow."
-- Eknath Easwaran

About Fairies

About Fairies
Fairies are the Little People, said by some to be the dispossessed early
tribes of the British Isles. They faded away into uninhabited places,
growing smaller and smaller with time as they were forgotten and passed
into legend. Oral history informs us that the Tuatha de Danann, People
of the Goddess Dana, ruled Ireland before the Milesian invasion. They
are said to have been driven underground, where they became the Daoine
Sidhe fairies.
Other theories hold that fairies are supernatural beings, fallen angels
trapped on earth, spirits of the heathen dead, elementals, nature
spirits, visitors from an alternate or parallel universe, or old
god/esses who have been so neglected that they have lost their powers
and devolved into fairies.
Myths and legends provide a lot of information about fairies. These are some of their supposed qualities and attributes:
APPEARANCE
Wear green clothes
May be winged and fly
May be tiny, or child-sized
Can turn invisible, or blend so closely into the forest as to seem invisible
QUALITIES
May be male or female, helpful or harmful
Have powers of magic and enchantment
Move swiftly
Are immortal
Live on fruit
Play tricks
Brawl with each other
Possess gold
Enjoy music, dancing and making love
War with insects and reptiles
Are associated with certain plants, trees and places
Sometimes take human lovers
Can breed with humans
Create artifacts, such as shoes and bows
CHARACTER
Helpful:
Bestow gifts - Fairy gifts include the cauldron of plenty, the wand of intelligence, and the tree of knowledge
Assist with housework
Harmful:
Steal babies and replace them with changelings
Borrow houehold items from humans
Enchant humans and beguile them into the fairy realm
HABITAT
Live on hills, in woody dells, underwater, or in the Otherworld Fairyland, also called Elfland or Tir Nan Og, is an enchanted place
where fairies live in an organized community. It may be thought of as an
alternate or parallel universe, a place where time stands still and
there is no sickness or death. The fairy kingdom is said to be a hilltop
one, but invisible, or composed of magnificent underground cities.
Fairy kings and queens rule there. Humans who enter the fairy realm cannot leave once the door closes
behind them. Those who do leave may find that years have passed on earth
during what was, for them, but minutes in the fairy kingdom.
POWERS
Shapeshift
Cause fog and tempests
NAMES:
Fairies are the Little People, the good folk who live in woody dells.
Names for them include: faery - faerie - fatae - fa'ae - fairye - sidhe

Elves, gnomes, sprites, goblins, hobgoblins, nymphs, merfolk, trolls,
leprechauns, etc. are considered types of fairies in some traditions.
Knowing a fairy's true name gives you power over it, so fairies are said
to guard their real names very closely. Nevertheless, individual
fairies known to us from mythology include:
Aeval, Fairy Queen of the Midnight Court
Aillen MacModha, who sets Tara ablaze every year
Caer, a beautiful fairy who lived as a swan
Clethrad, an alder fairy
Donagh, Finvarra's beautiful wife.
Finvarra, fairy king of the Daoine Sidhe. He is known for his skill at

Fairy Goddesses: Aine of Knockaine - Airmed - Eri - Morgan le Fay (Morgan the Fairy)
Fairy Gods: Credne, the fairy goldsmith - Goibnie, the fairy blacksmith - Lichtar, the fairy carpenter
FAIRY GODMOTHERS
The fairy godmother is a stock character of fairy tales. She appears
alone or in a group to bestow gifts, usually on newborns. Sometimes she
acts like a guardian angel. Fatae, one of the names for fairies, derives from Fata/Fatae, the
Fates. This Roman Triple Goddess appeared at the birth of kings and
notables to decree the child's destiny. The archetype is much older,
going back at least as far as Egypt where the Seven Hathors appeared
upon the birth of a child to bestow gifts and divine its fate.
CHANGELINGS
"There are other forms of life as well as ours whose sphere of evolution
impinges upon the earth. In the realm of folk-lore we constantly meet
with the idea of intercourse between the human and the fairy kingdoms;
of the marriage of a human being with a fairy spouse, or the theft of a
child by the fairies, an impish changeling being left in its place. We
shall be rash if we assume that an extensive body of folk-belief is
entirely without foundation in fact."
- Dion Fortune, Psychic Self-Defence

Definition of faeries

Definition of faeries
Faerie : from the Latin term for "fate" (fata), faeries (or fairies)
are a "host of supernatural beings and spirits who occupy a limbo
between earth and heaven" (Guiley). This is in recognition of the skill
faeries had in predicting and even controlling human destiny. Faeries
could be either good or evil creatures, and at various points in history
have been confused with witches and demons
Fay or fey is the archaic term for faerie meaning bewitched or
enchanted. This word derives from 'Fays' meaning Fates, and thought to
be a broken form of Fatae. 'Fay-erie' was first a state of enchantment
or glamour, and was only later used for the fays who wielded those
powers of illusion. The state of enchantment is fayerie, which became
fairy and faerie.
Other terms :
Fair Folk is a welsh name, often used in litterature and in scandinavian myths.
Good Neighbours is from Scotland. It had its origin in a desire to give
no unnecessary offense. The `folk' might be listening, and were pleased
when people spoke well of them, and angry when spoken of slightingly.
The same feeling made the Irish Celt call them `honest folk' (Daoine
Coire) or `good people' (Daoine Matha).
The Green Children was used in medieval litterature and versions of it
is often used in modern Fantasy litterature. This theme has many
variations like Greenies, Greencoaties and others.
The Old People refers as Faerie lived on earthlong before Mankind.
The Silent People (the people of peace, the still folk, or
silently-moving people) comes from the Irish and Scottish Gaelic, the
sith people. The name sith refers to `peace' or silence of Airy motion,
as contrasted with the stir and noise accompanying the movements and
actions of men. The Fairies come and go with noiseless steps, and their
thefts or abductions are done silently and unawares to men.
Elf (ves) means also faerie and derived from the word alfarfrom the
Nordic and Teutonic languages which is associated with mountains and
water. This clearly illustrates the close relationship between faeries
and the earth.
More generally, Faerie applies to four kind of entities :
a.. Enchanters and enchantresses with supernatural powers.
b.. Certain monsters and demons having a connection with fairies
and/or having some of the characteristics of fairies. See the origin of
Fairies
c.. Nature fairies: Faeries were believed to be some of the spirits
which populate all places and objects on Earth. The nature fairies are
mermaids, water-spirits, tree-spirits and such.·
d.. Faerie people (mainly the subject of this section) or the true
Fairy, or Elfin race. The Fairies, according to the Scoto-Celtic belief,
are a race of beings, the counterparts of mankind in person,
occupations, and pleasures, but unsubstantial and unreal, ordinarily
invisible, noiseless in their motions, and having their dwellings
underground, in hills and green mounds of rock or earth. They are
addicted to visiting the haunts of men, sometimes to give assistance,
but more frequently to take away the benefit of their goods and labours,
and sometimes even their persons. They may not be present in any
company, though mortals do not see them. Their interference is never
productive of good in the end, and may prove destructive. Men cannot
therefore be sufficiently on their guard against them.
Trooping and solitary faeries
In order to classify the faerie characters in the stories, the race is
divided up into two groups: the peasantry and the aristocracy; trooping
and solitary. It is a distinction that hold good throughout the British
Isles, and is indeed valid wherever fairy beliefs are held. The
peasantry is made up of the solitary faeries that are believed to have
descended from spirits who made up all of nature. Although they had some
of the same powers as their more prestigious relatives, i.e. the
ability to become invisible and shape-change, they were known to be more
wild and capricious. Fortunately, true encounters with mortals were
relatively rare, instead their presence were most often announced by
evidence of the creatures' activity. It was believed the bending of the
grass, the rustling sounds of tree branches, and the glittering patterns
of frost on windows could be attributed to their nearness.
The Faerie aristocracy was very different from their isolated cousins.
They were known as trooping faeries because they travelled in long
processions. These faeries are believed to be descendents of ancient,
vanquished gods. They dwell in underground kingdoms or across the
deepest seas. The trooping faycan be large or small, friendly or
sinister. They tend to wear green jackets, while the Solitary Faery wear
red jackets. They can range from the Heroic Faery to the dangerous and
malevolent Sluagh.
In many cultures like those in Scandinavia and Scotland, they subdivided
the aristocracy into good and evil. However, there is no distinction
between the good and evil faeries in Wales and Ireland. They were called
the Tylwyth Teg (Fair Family) and the Daine Side (Dwellers of the
Faerie Mounds) respectively. The Irish have the most complete accounts
of the trooping faeries hidden within their many songs and folktales.
Faeries across history and cultures
The antiquity of the belief is shown by its being found among all
branches of the Celtic and Teutonic families, and in countries which
haven't had, within historical times, any communication with each other.
If it be no entirely of Celtic origin, there can be no doubt that among
the Celtic races it acquired an importance and influence accorded to it
nowhere else. Of all the beings, with which fear or fancy peopled the
supernatural, the Fairies were the most intimately associated with men's
daily life.
Throughout most of these former celtic nations : Ireland, Scotland,
Wales, Brittany and Germany, the Fairies have become things of the past.
A common belief is that they existed once, though they are not now
seen. There are others to whom the elves have still a real existence,
and who are careful to take precautions against them. It would be
difficult to find a person who knows the whole Fairy creed, but the
tales of one district are never contradictory of those of another and
are still present even if they sometimes remain as a confused jumbling
of all superstitions.
The dismiss of Fairies
From the XVIII century onwards, the fairies have been said to have
departured or to be in decline. People do not see them any more and some
argue that the Faeries will eventually disappear as men have stopped
believing in them. Other put forward pollution, urbanization, science as
the main causes for their disparition. Yet, however often they may be
reported as gone, the fairies still linger. In Ireland the fairy beliefs
are still part of the normal texture of life; in the Highlands, Islands
or Brittany the traditions continue.
Somewhere at the beginning of the 19th century, Hugh Miller recorded
what was supposed to be the final departure of the fairies from Scotland
at Burn of Eathie.
On a Sabbath morning... the inmates of this little hamlet had all gone
to church, all except a herd-boy, and a little girl, his sister, who
were lounging beside one of the cottages; when, just as the shadow of
the garden-dial had fallen on the line of noon, they saw a long
cavalcade ascending out of the ravine through the wooded hollow. It
winded among the knolls and bushes; and, turning round the northern
gable of the cottage beside which the sole spectators of the scene were
stationed, began to ascend the eminence toward the south. The horses
were shaggy, diminutive things, speckled dun and grey; the riders,
stunted, misgrown, ugly creatures, attired in antique jerkins of plaid,
long grey cloaks, and little red caps, from under which their wild
uncombed locks shot out over their cheeks and foreheads. The boy and his
sister stood gazing in utter dismay and astonishment, as rider after
rider, each one more uncouth and dwarfish than the one that had preceded
it, passed the cottage, and disappeared among the brushwood which at
that period covered the hill, until at length the entire rout, except
the last rider, who lingered a few yards behind the others, had gone by.
'What are ye, little mannie? and where are ye going?' inquired the boy,
his curiosity getting the better of his fears and his prudence. 'Not of
the race of Adam,' said the creature, turning for a moment in his
saddle: 'the People of Peace shall never more be seen in Scotland.'
Hugh Miller, The Old Red Sandstone
Description of Fairies
Faeries are often portrayed in Western children's stories as tiny,
winged, and good hearted. However, this description varies widely from
worldwide folk traditions in which beliefs concerning hidden races
sharing the earth with us have resided for most of human history.
Within different regions different descriptions of faeries grew, all
were more or less human in form although sometimes taller or shorter,
but never bearing wings. Much of their behaviour was much like humans as
well; they had governments, societies, marriages, children, and war.
They were often mortal and therefore, could be killed. However, unlike
humanity, they had supernatural powers, which made them, at best,
unpredictable and at worst, dangerous. Few people sought out the company
of faeries and most went out of the way to avoid it.
The size of faeries
The difference in size ascribed to the race has strangely greatly varied
according to time and local customs. At one time the elves are small
enough to creep through keyholes, and a single potato is as much as one
of them can carry; at another they resemble mankind, with whom they form
alliances, and to whom they hire themselves as servants; while some are
even said to be above the size of mortals, giants, in whose lap mortal
women are mere infants. The same peculiarity exists in Teutonic belief.
At times the elf is a dwarfish being that enters through key-holes and
window-slits; at other times a great tall man. In Scandinavia, the Troll
may appear in one tale as a Giant greater than two men and in another
as a small dwarf..
Organization of faeries
There are many different faerie organizations. Each has its own hierarchy and local legends.
Scotland
Fairies can also be divided into the Seelie court and the Unseelie court.
The Seelie court, or the blessed court, a group of rather beneficial
spirits, is friendly towards humans. The Selie Court are some of the
more aristrocratic faeries, and are known as tropping, or heroic
faeries. Scottish folklore presents them as a huge host of light and
benevolence riding on the night air.
The Unseelie Court or Unblessed Court contains the most malicious,
malevolent and evil of the faeries, and a number of monsters of horrible
appearance and fearsome abilities as well. They comprise the Slaugh, or
The Host, the band of the unsanctified dead who fly above the earth,
stealing mortals and take great pleasure in harming humans. Some
Scottish legends say they were all once members of the Seelie Court who
fell from grace. The Court travels on the night winds from where their
unnerving cackles and howls can be heard. They have no method of
reproduction, so they enslave mortals whom they think would never be
missed and carry them along to become one of them.
The Seelie Court and its counterpart, the Unseelie Court are often at
war,and humans may get caught in the middle of such battles. They
acquired the title "Court" because they also act as arbiters and judges
in faery disputes.
Ireland
The great Tuatha de Danann of Ireland flead to Tir Nan Og after their
defeat by the Milesians, however those who remained in Ireland became
the Daoine Sidhe. Side (Shee) is gaelic for 'people of the hills'.
Orriginally it referred to the mounds in which faeries lived, though it
has now come to refer to the inhabitants as well. Their king is
Finvarra, who like all of his clan is a skilled warrior. He is also fond
of chess playing and women. Despite the fact that his wife, Donagh, is
one of the most beautiful women above or below the ground, he is known
to abduct brides-to-be. Like the Seelie Court, the Daoine Sidhe, enjoy
riding and are famous for their faerie steeds, which can carry a rider
faster than the wind over land or water.
Another group of faeries in Ireland inhabit the Lough Lean. their ruler
is O'Donoghue who rides forth from the lake every May Day on a war steed
to ride into the surrounding mist.
Wales
Whales has perhaps more clans of faeries than any other area. In
Glastonburry Tor, famous from Arturian legends, Gwyn ap Nudd rules over
the Plant Annwn (roughly- family of hades). Long ago, on every New
Year's Day, a door would appear in the side of a great rock next to a
certain lake. Those who entered found that it lead to a passage that
ended on the island in the middle of the lake. This island was a
beatiful garden kept by the Gwrgedd Annwn, who would serve wonderful
food to the travelers and treat them as honored guests. They warned the
fortunate mortals that the doorway was a secret and that nothing could
be taken from the garden. One mortal took a single flower from the
garden and as soon as he touched the soil of earth, all of the other
other travelers were expelled and the doorway was closed, never to
reopen again.
Brittany
Brittany has several classes of Faeries, the most popular being the
Korrigans who have been counted to be more than 10 000 in the past.
Faeries' style of life
The Fairies are counterparts of mankind. There are children and old
people among them; they practice all kinds of trades and handicrafts;
they possess cattle, dogs, arms; they require food, clothing, sleep;
they are liable to disease, and can be killed. People entering their
brughs, have found the inmates engaged in similar occupations to
mankind, the women spinning, weaving, grinding meal, baking, cooking,
churning, etc., and the men sleeping, dancing, and making merry, or
sitting round a fire in the middle of the floor. Some Fairy families or
communities are poorer than others, and borrow meal and other articles
of domestic use from each other and from their neighbours of mankind.
The fairies have a great reputation for various skills. They are seen
and heard working on their own account, they teach skills to mortals and
they do work for them. Of the crafts in which fairies are
distinguished, the most curious and contradictory is smithy work, when
we consider the fairies' fear of cold iron. Gnomes and dwarves are
reputed metal-workers, and many famous swords and breastplates were
wrought by them.
Lepracauns were reputed to be highly skilled at shoemaking, but since
there is no record that they made shoes for other than fairy feet, there
is no certitude.
Goblins labouring in the mines were proverbial in the 17th century for
producing no results by their deedy labours. Boat-building, on the other
hand, was a work on which they nightly laboured and which they could
transfer to human protégés. The men have smithies, in which they make
the Fairy arrows and other weapons.
Fairy food consists principally of things intended for human food, of
which the elves take the substance, fruit, or benefit, leaving the
semblance or appearance to men themselves. In his manner they take cows,
sheep, goats, meal, sowens, the produce of the land, . Cattle falling
over rocks are particularly liable to being taken by them, and milk
spilt in coming from the dairy is theirs by right. They have, of food
peculiar to themselves and not acquired from men, the root of silver
weed (brisgein), the stalks of heather (cuiseagan an fhraoich), the milk
of the red deer hinds and of goats, weeds gathered in the fields, and
barleymeal. The brisgein is a root plentifully turned up by the plough
in spring, and ranked in olden times as the `seventh bread'. Its
inferior quality and its being found underground, are probably the cause
of its being assigned to the Fairies.
Faerie Rings and Dances
According to folklore, fairy rings are magical circles in which witches
and faeries meet to sing and dance at night. Fairies dance in circles
and when a human is lured inside he can't escape unless he is pulled out
of the circle by a human chain. Inside time is different and what seems
like a couple minutes could actually be several days.
Fairy rings is also the name for the circles of inedible mushrooms that
grow in grassy areas in North America, Europe, and Britain. Also called
hag tracks in Britain, they are believed to be created by witches'
dancing feet

Deva Faeries
The Devas
They are the ones who would be the souls of the plants we work with, for
they like to work qwith us and share the plants secrets with us.
But, only if we do so with a pure heart and with repsect.
They can teach us about the plants medicinal properties, nutritional
values, it magickal qualities, its spiritual uses, whether or not it is
poison or not!
It takes patience to work with these fairies, as it does with all fairy!
When you meet one it will show up as a glowing or flashing light that
comes from the plant we seek knowledge from.
You will feel its presence thru a tingling or warm sensation.
They never leave their plant so finding them in some ways is easier, for
they are there. But treat them and their plant kindly, with pure

The Buffalo
Endurance
Hidden Talents
Adaptability
Take
a deep breath and let the spirit of the buffalo fill you.
Click here to Listen to the Buffalo's Song.
Welcome the
great and powerful buffalo into your life to be your teacher.
The buffalo
will teach you how to survive, even when the cold wind blows and the snow drifts
across the plains. He will teach you how to grow a thick coat and hold your
head down in winter, doing what you must, but full of the certain knowledge that
winter will pass and the green grass will again push through to the sunshine of
spring. And then, when summer comes, he will teach you how to shed that long,
shaggy coat and adapt to the new season. You will be able to handle whatever
comes your way, strong and capable, comfortable in the cold or in the heat, for
you are the buffalo.
The buffalo
can also teach you the power of the group. For even though the buffalo is a
very powerful animal in his own right, he is especially powerful as a member of
a group, where the stronger and more experienced actively protect others. The
buffalo will help you feel more a part of those around you, finding your proper
role, whether it is as a leader and protector or one of those protected. Either
way, the buffalo energy will help you relate well and easily with others.
Buffalo
energy will also help you find hidden talents and abilities within you. For the
buffalo, though appearing slow, can actually run very fast and can leap great
heights. You will surprise us all with your newfound strengths, for you are the
buffalo.

Quado's Garden: Follow Inner Truth

Follow
Inner Truth
When
you
are feeling tense and anxious, it is important for you to see if your anxiety is
caused by a fear to follow your inner truth through courageous action.
Sit quietly with pen and
paper nearby. Breathe down to a quiet place and reach your center. Clear away
the worries over the future and regrets over the past. Things are as they are
right now, and your goal right now is to alleviate your tension through right
action.
Find the calm pool of peace
within you and ask, how shall I approach this situation? Then write down the
very first answer that comes; capture it before your mind has a chance to
second-guess or edit.
If the answer is that you
are to be patient and wait, good, then do so calmly, peacefully and without
fear. If the answer is that you must deal directly with the situation, then
take a deep breath, fill yourself with courage and prepare yourself to speak
your truth, calmly, clearly and directly. And if the answer is to meet with
others, one on one, listen and learn as you quietly work out your differences,
then do that.
Fear and doubt prefer that
you deal with situations in anger or that you do nothing except worry and
complain. To fear and doubt, a wonderful solution is to revert to your old
patterns of overeating and drinking, while taking no constructive steps toward
resolution. Fear loves gossip, anger and manipulation.
But you are more than
this. You are strong and capable and full of truth and rightness, which direct
you each step of the way. Reach down to them and find what you should do, what
right action you should take to alleviate the tension and anxiety you feel.
Then take a deep breath and act, and fear will give way before you.

The Morrigan

The Morrígan

The Morrígan is a goddess of battle, strife, and fertility. Her name
translates as 'Phantom Queen,' which is entirely appropriate for Her.
The Morrígan appears as both a single goddess and a trio of goddesses,
which includes the Badb 'Vulture' and Nemain 'Frenzy'. The Morrígan
frequently appears in the ornithological guise of a hooded crow. She is
one of the Tuatha De Danann (People of the Goddess Danu) and She helped
defeat the Firbolgs at the First Battle of Magh Tuireadh and the Fomorii
at the Second Battle of Mag Tured.
By some accounts, She is the consort of the Dagda, while the Badb and
Nemain are sometimes listed as consorts of Néit, an obscure war god who
is possibly Nuada the Sky Father in His warrior aspect. It is
interesting to note that another battle goddess, Macha, is also
associated with Nuada.
ORIGINS
The origins of the Morrígan seem to reach directly back to the
megalithic cult of the Mothers. The Mothers (Matrones, Idises, Dísir,
etc.) usually appeared as triple goddesses and their cult was expressed
through both battle ecstasy and regenerative ecstasy. Later Celtic
goddesses of sovereignty, such as the trio of Éire, Banba, and Fótla,
also use magic in warfare. "Influence in the sphere of warfare, but by
means of magic and incantation rather than through physical strength, is
common to these beings." (Ross 205)
Éire, a goddess connected to the land in a fashion reminiscent of the
Mothers, could appear as a beautiful woman or as a crow, as could the
Morrígan. The Dí;sir appeared in similar guises. In addition to being
battle goddesses, they are significantly associated with fate as well as
birth in many cases, along with appearing before a death or to escort
the deceased. It is interesting to note that some sources present Éire
and the Morrígan as half-sisters.
There is certainly evidence that the concept of a raven goddess of
battle wasn't limited to the Irish Celts. An inscription found in France
invoking Cathubodva, 'Battle Raven', shows that a similar concept was
known among the Gaulish Celts.
SIMILARITIES BETWEEN THE MORRÍGAN AND THE VALKYRIES
The Morrígan's role in the Irish cosmology is quite similar to the role
played by the Valkyries in Norse cosmology. Both use magic to cast
fetters on warriors and choose who will die.
During the Second Battle, the Morrígan "said she would go and destroy
Indech son of Dé Domnann and 'deprive him of the blood of his heart and
the kidneys of his valor', and she gave two handfuls of that blood to
the hosts. When Indech later appeared in the battle, he was already
doomed." (Rees 36)
Compare this to the Washer at the Ford, another guise of the Morrígan.
The Washer is usually to be found washing the clothes of men about to
die in battle. In effect, She is choosing who will die.
An early German spell found in Merseburg mentions the Indisi, who
decided the fortunes of war and the fates of warriors. The Scandinavian
Song of the Spear, quoted in Njals Saga, gives a detailed description of
Valkyries as women weaving on a grisly loom, with severed heads for
weights, arrows for shuttles, and entrails for the warp. As they worked,
they exulted at the loss of life that would take place. "All is
sinister now to see, a cloud of blood moves over the sky, the air is red
with the blood of men, and the battle women chant their song."
(Davidson 94)
An Old English poem, Exodus, refers to ravens as choosers of the slain.
There are links between ravens, choosing of the slain, casting fetters,
and female beings in many sources.
"As the Norse and English sources show them to us, the walkurjas are
figures of awe and even terror, who delight in the deaths of men. As
battlefield scavengers, they are very close to the ravens, who are
described as waelceasega, 'picking over the dead'..." (Our Troth)
"The function of the goddess [the Morrígan] here, it may be noted, is
not to attack the hero [Cúchulainn] with weapons but to render him
helpless at a crucial point in the battle, like the valkyries who cast
'fetters' upon warriors...thus both in Irish and Scandinavian literature
we have a conception of female beings associated with battle, both
fierce and erotic." (Davidson 97, 100)
THE MORRÍGAN AND CÚCHULAINN
She appeared to the hero Cúchulainn (son of the god Lugh) and offered
Her love to him. When he failed to recognize Her and rejected Her, She
told him that She would hinder him when he was in battle. When
Cúchulainn was eventually killed, She settled on his shoulder in the
form of a crow. Cú's misfortune was that he never recognized the
feminine power of sovereignty that She offered to him.
She appeared to him on at least four occasions and each time he failed to recognize Her.
1. When She appeared to him and declared Her love for him.
2. After he had wounded Her, She appeared to him as an old hag and he
offered his blessings to Her, which caused Her to be healed.
3. On his way to his final battle, he saw the Washer at the Ford, who
declared that She was "washing the clothes and arms of Cúchulainn, who
would soon be dead."
4. When he was forced by three hags (which represent the Morrígan in Her triple aspect) to break a taboo of eating dogflesh.
THE ROLE OF THE MORRÍGAN
For modern Celtic Pagans, the role of the Morrígan in our religion is
different than what it was for our ancestors. Most of us are not
involved in life-or-death struggles on a daily basis. The Morrígan is an
appropriate deity for strong, independent people, particularly those on
a warrior path.
RITUALS FOR THE MORRÍGAN
Many devotees of the Morrígan have a permanent shrine set up in Her
honor. They use such items as a bowl of brine and blood, a raven or crow
feather, or even a piece of red cloth (to symbolize the Washer at the
Ford). Some people use menstrual blood, which is very appropriate.
Blood, especially menstrual blood, is a symbol of both life and death,
fertility and war.
Rituals should be kept simple. Find something that symbolizes the
Morrígan and meditate on it. When you feel Her presence, you may wish to
offer Her something of value. This can be as simple as some ale or as
difficult as spilling your own blood.
When I dedicated myself to Her, I meditated on a crow's feather and a
candle flame. I called Her name until I could feel Her definite
presence. When I offered myself to Her, the flame blazed up and filled
the entire room and I felt that my offer had been accepted.

Black Dogs, Dogs and Witches

Black Dogs, Dogs and Witches Many
of we Witches have a Black Cat or too⦠cats are long known familiars of
the Black Hat Society. Yet less known is; that we are also
extraordinarily and spiritual connected to our canine familiars as well.
Long before our feline friends became a fundamental of our Witchly
abode .. the dog was seem as a the spiriting companion to those of
magickal and mystical heart, Witches, Goddesses and the Dead. A
Black Dog was essentially seen as a nocturnal apparition seen with
shadow creatures and spirits that walk the veils. Sadly Black Dogs have
often been said to be associated with the Devil, and its appearance was
regarded as a portent of death. It is generally supposed to be larger
than a normal dog, and often has large, glowing eyes. Many
believe that Black Dogs are associated with electrical storms and also
with the crossroads, walking with Hekate or guarding for her. Black Dogs
are seen at places of death and execution and ancient pathways. The
origins of the black dog are difficult to discern. It is impossible to
ascertain whether the creature originated in the Celtic or Germanic
elements in British culture. Throughout in European mythology Black Dogs
have long been associated with death. Examples of this
are the Cwn Annwa, in Welsh mythology and folklore, Cwn Annwnâs were the
spectral hounds of Annwn, in the otherworld. Unfortunately christians
came to dub these mythical creatures as "The Hounds of Hell" or "Dogs of
Hell" and theorized they were therefore owned by Satan. However, the
Annwn of medieval Welsh tradition is an otherworldly paradise and not a
hell or abode of dead souls. In Norse mythology, Garmr or
Garm is a black dog associated with Ragnarok who hold the final destiny
of the gods in a series of future events, including a great battle
foretold to ultimately result in the death of a number of major figures. Cerberus,
in Greek and Roman mythology is a multi-headed hound. Usually with
three heads which guards the gates of Hades, to prevent those who have
crossed the river Styx from ever escaping. Cwn Annwnâs,
Garmr, and Cerberus all of whom were in some way guardians of the
underworld. This association seems to be due to the scavenging habits of
dogs. It is possible that the black dog is a survival of these beliefs. Black dogs are almost universally regarded as malevolent, and only a few said they are directly harmful. The
dog Black Dogs are most generally is the most common animal associated
with Hekate, and She was sometimes addressed as the 'Black she dog'.
Black dogs were once sacrificed to Her in purification rituals, and at
Colophon in Samothrace Hekate could manifest as a dog. The sound of
barking dogs is the first sign of Her approach in Greek and Roman
literature: The Earth began to bellow, trees to danceAnd howling dogs in glimmering light advanceEre Hekate came." The Aeneid, book VL. Virgil. Ovid writes that Hekate could be conjured up from darkness "with long howls."
There is evidence of an old belief that the souls of the unburied dead
could appear as dogs. Hekate is sometimes identified with the with
three-headed dog Kerebos, who guards the entrance to Hades, and there
may be connections with the Egyptian dog-headed god Annubis, who
conducted souls to the Underworld. Dogs were also
associated with deities like Hekate with who watched over childbirth,
probably because of the ease with which the bitch (female dog) gives
birth. The black dog is also well known as a guardian of
the house, standing at the font door to stand watch, and this seems to
relate to Hekate's role as guardian Hekate Propylaia. Stories
about black dogs can be found all over Britain and Europe; hiding
within folklore and legend can often be found something of worth. The
ancestor of the dog is the grey wolf, noted for its intelligence and
cunning. The wolf once roamed all over Northern Europe, entering Britain
with the retreating ice age while following the animal herds. There are
those who say that wolf and man sometimes formed a rapport with each
other; folklore upholds this thought. Those of us whom
are Witches hold black dogs in respect and regard, especially the black
dogs for they are sacred to the Goddess and the ancient ones. Lady AbigailHIgh Priestess Ravensgrove Coven

Wear Purple today to Stop Bully's from ruining lives!

Wear Purple today to Stop Bully's from ruining lives!
(Here is some posts today on FB for Bullying and problems, please join us today
In memory and to help shout out against Bullies and for all that has gone
through and going through and suicides due to Bullies......wear purple.
Bullies have issues within their own lives, they focus on hurting other
people to make themselves feel bigger and to fill gaps in their own
pathetic lives due to their own abuses, some ignored, some from broken
families, some just have families that don't care what these punks
do.
Stand up for yourselves and don't take it...It's ok to tell, it
was never your fault, don't' let them victimize you making you feel you
are less!
Have you Every been Bullied or Witnessed someone being Bullied, come today and
voice yourself...I WILL NOT BE BULLIED ANYMORE, I WILL STAND UP FOR MYSELF AND
TELL....THE BULLIES HAVE PROBLEMS IT IS NOT ME! Light a Purple Candle tonight
to honor and send protection to all those victims!Jealousy is a nasty animal,
when those want what you have, they try to tear you down, they cause you great
sadness & illness, when you allow this to happen you allow bullies to control
you, you have to rise over them & see them for who they are, Yes they may have
embarrassed you & hurt you but you are stronger then the...m. They have no
emotions because they have nothing & want what you have!
Bullies are People with low self esteem, go no where in life, have nothing to
look forward to, go home to abuse themselves, lonely miserable people, their
illness spreads by hurting others, like a black plague, they kill everything
around them, you have the cure within you not to let them bully you, stand up
for yourself and Tell, it works!
Have you every Been Bullied at Work...It happens, even grown ups can have a
lonely miserable life, never have kids, never get anything in life and they
tend to hurt and abuse other around them that have it, it's not you that is
nothing, they are and have nothing, when someone does that to you, smile back
and hold up a ...photo of your family....That's all you need! They will get it!
It makes me sick to see a child sit alone and kids pick on them, laugh at
them, call them names, hurt them and Grown ups find this funny and allow those
punks to continue the abuse...Some Parents should be held responsible for their
pathetic bratts and do time for the abuse...Maybe they will stop teaching them
not to hurt other children.
Online Bullies...Your more Pathetic then the school yard ones, those are the
most cowardly, they are too scared to face a person so they use the phones or
computers, you can print those out and show the police and they will do
time...Again don't be a victim, it's not you, it's them, they want the
attention they don't g...et at home....Don't let them win...Tell!
When someone has bad things in their own lives they tend to make you a public
figue to make themselves look cool, when that happens and you feel hollow
inside and to ashamed to raise your head...this is when you need to roar, get
help, call the police, don't let these idiots ruin your lives...The bullies are
the ones t...hat will have nothing in the end...You will only Gain!

Today's Goddess: Srinmo Boomerang Festival (Virginia)
Posted by: "Cher Chirichello" CHIC0411@YAHOO.COM chic0411

Today's Goddess: Srinmo
Boomerang Festival (Virginia)
Themes: Karma; Universal Law; Excellence; Sports; Cycles
Symbols: Wheel; Boomerang
About Srinmo: In Tibet, this goddess holds the Great Round, a cosmic wheel upon
which the movement of human life is recorded with each thought, word, and
deed. Srinmo's demonic visage represents the human fear of death and reminds
that one should strive for good in this life for the beauty it brings now and
in our next incarnation.
To Do Today: In Virginia, this is a competitive festival of skill centering
on the ancient boomerangs believed to have been used originally by the
Egyptians. Metaphysically speaking, the boomerang's movement represents the
threefold law and Srinmo's karmic balance (i.e., everything you send out
returns to you thrice). To give yourself a greater understanding of this
principle, or to recognize the cycles in your life that may need changing,
carry any round object today, such as a coin. Put it in your pocket, saying,
What goes around comes around. Pay particular attention to your routine and the
way you interact with people all day, and see what Srinmo reveals to you.
For aiding the quest for enlightenment, and generally improving karma through
light-filled living, try this little incantation in the car each time you make
a right-hand turn today:
"As I turn to the right,
I move closer to the Light!" )0(

Chinese Gods of Wealth Ritual

Chinese Gods of Wealth Ritual
Chinese homes, restaurants, and other enterprises usually have an altar on the
premises made of various materials such as ceramics, brass, bronze, crystal,
jadeâ"even gold if the owner is affluent. The most common gods of wealth in
Chinese culture are Tsoi Sun Yeh, whose vehicle is the tiger, Kuan Kung, and
the three stellar gods named Fook, Lok, and Sow. The first two deities are
usually displayed separately, but Fook, Lok, and Sow are most often displayed
standing next to each other as a set. These deities are useful for attracting a
continuous flow of good luck, for smoothing any monetary transactions, and for
promoting evergreen prosperity. Images and figures of them can be purchased
around the world in Chinatowns. Make regular supplications and offerings to
them after installing. Most Chinese use flowers, oranges, mandarin oranges,
pears, apples, red candles, sandalwood incense, rice wine, and tiny cups of
Chinese tea. Always give thanks and make regular donations to charity.

Ovid, Metamorphoses

Here is a story that you may know:
there was a woman who ran
so fast no one could catch her.
This is not just a fable: Atalanta
was real and she ran like that,
she bested everyone who tried
to match her speed. When
was there was ever a woman
more worthy of great praise?
~ Ovid, Metamorphoses
In the myth of Atalanta, modern women fins a poignant statement of our inner
struggle. A mere hundred years ago,
most women we literate: women could not vote: women were continually at risk of
pregnancy, even from rape.
Today, much has changed, although much still remains to be to be improved. As
women, we can test ourselves as
vigorously as we choose. We can, like Atalanta, run with the wind.
But like that Greek heroine, we find ourselves wishing for a partner as
vigorous and energetic as we have found ourselves to be. Whenever great
historical changes occur ~ as has certainly been the case with women's status
and power in the century ~society moves ahead lurchingly, some aspects changing
quickly, others lagging behind. Such times are challenging. But, with Atalanta,
we will keep racing forward.

Space Weather News for Oct. 20, 2010
http://spaceweather.com
SUNDIVING COMET: A newly-discovered comet is plunging toward the sun for a close
encounter it probably will not survive. The comet is too deep in the sun's
glare for human eyes to pick out, but it is showing up nicely in coronagraph
images from the Solar and Heliospheric Observatory. Visit
http://spaceweather.com for latest movies.
ORIONID METEOR SHOWER: Earth is passing through a stream of debris from
Halley's Comet, and this is causing the annual Orionid meteor shower. Bright
moonlight is reducing the number of visible meteors; nevertheless, sky watchers
are reporting some bright Orionids. The best time to look is during the hours
before local dawn on Thursday, Oct. 21st, and again on Friday, Oct. 22nd.
Check http://spaceweather.com for a sky map and more information.
