FREE SEMINAR - In Atlanta, Georgia
TAKE CHARGE OF YOUR LIFE!
presented by Patricia Diane Cota-Robles
http://eraofpeace.org
Sunday, November 7, 2010
10:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
Renaissance Atlanta Waverly Hotel
2450 Galleria Parkway
Atlanta, Georgia 30339
This is a time of new beginnings. We have all been
going through a purging process that has pushed to the surface anything
in our lives that is not serving our highest good. This necessary
cleansing process is often confusing and sometimes even overwhelming,
but we have no other option than to walk through it. We are not being
given the luxury of ignoring our dysfunctional relationships and our
negative situations any longer. If we try to, more painful things
surface to get our attention and to motivate us into action. This
awakening process is being orchestrated by our God Selves, which is the
Divinity within us that is always striving to move us forward in the
Light. If we want the insanity to stop, we must remember who we are and
why we are here.
The good news is that we are not being given anything that we
cannot handle, and we have everything we need within us to accomplish
this facet of our awakening process quickly and relatively easily. We
have just forgotten how to do this. It is time for us to realize that we
are not our fragmented, fear-based human egos. We are Beloved Sons and
Daughters of God, and we are powerful beyond our knowing.
In this Free Seminar you will be reminded of the techniques that
will allow you to clear the surfacing negativity quickly. You will also
remember how easy it is to create the life you want.
This seminar is a gift from my heart to yours. Please do not let this opportunity pass you by.

NEW YouTube Video - INTEGRATING THE I AM PRESENCE
by Patricia Cota-Robles
http://www.youtube.com/user/ PatriciaCotaRobl es
Humanity has recently experienced a very powerful shift of
energy, vibration, and consciousness. This has allowed us to transcend
our human egos. Now our I AM Presence, our true God Self, is integrating
into our physical, etheric, mental, and emotional bodies filling the
void where our human ego used to abide.
As this process unfolds day-by-day, our lives are being transformed, and we are able to hear the "still small voice" of
our I AM Presence more easily. The Divine Intent of this YouTube video,
"Integrating the I AM Presence," is to help each of us accelerate this
process.

Re: (no subject) Protein/Vegetarians
Posted by: "Ash" mhc4sure@yahoo.com mhc4sure
Mon Oct 18, 2010 4:11 am (PDT)
Someone I have the deepest and highest respect for me talked with me a few months ago with her opinion on this. She simply stated that we do not need to eat meat in order to get our protein. She is a dedicated vegan and have been from vegetarian to vegan myself. From my own personal perspective if I am able to live off the land and catch my own food, which means that I am able to follow a lifestyle very much akin to native americans who lived in balance with the land, I would gladly have no issue with the whole meat/food industry.
On that end I feel that there has been an imbalance with the cruelty and suffering that is placed upon the animals herded into the factories, and such, to produce the meat and dairy products (yes even the milk and eggs come from horrendous actions and violations) that we all eat. There is a current documentary film that is out which is an eye-opener and after seeing just apart of it decided I could not be a silent contributor any longer to the whole process. Does that mean I am an angry vegan? No I respect anyone's choices and I can balance being a strong advocate for change while not pushing or trying to get someone to make my choice. There has been respect on both sides of the coin. Balance, like you said Cher, is important.
With the nutrients you mentioned that vegetarians miss out on later in life, or at some that can be missed it, that comes down to vegetarians and vegans who do not stay updated and informed as they could be. I am learning early on very good viable natural non-meat/dairy sources for protein, calcium, etc that give more than sufficient to keep what is needed in our bodies. The information is there. We simply need to make just a little effort to look for it and we can do it. Thank you for the subject Cher and am interested to hear other viewpoints and opinions on this. love, Shay

You
may be a caretaker or care giver, who gives freely of your time, energy

article. Understanding
the meaning behind a very meaningful aspect of my life has helped
me remove a significant block. Do you know the meaning behind what is
meaningful to you? This is the second article. Archangel
Uriel's message this week advises us to open our minds so that we can
move beyond limited thinking and partner with our open heart.
Do
you think you are not meeting your children's needs and feel that you
are not a good parent? One thing you must know is that they chose you

Who Cares For You?
Everyone
in our care zone is someone we have a soul contract or karmic
obligation with, or have made a vow or promise to in one or more
lifetimes. Depending on the nature of our interaction, we can feel
responsible for them or believe we have done something we must atone
for. In our desire to fulfill these obligations we put all of our energy
towards them and forget that we also have an obligation to ourselves,
to end this cycle and clear our karma. Without that understanding we are
in an endless cycle of trying to care for others and ignore our own
needs.
All
of our lifetimes are cycles of healing potential but unless we move
beyond recognizing our obligation to also heal ourselves, which is shown
to us by the healing demands others place on us through their words or
actions, our focus is on trying to fix whatever we believe is broken or
missing in their lives. We know, from the energy we share, that we may
have contributed to their powerlessness or helplessness in some way and
we want to fix them. But they are also responsible for clearing their
own energy and taking an active role in resolving their own problems.
As
we are attending to others' needs, we are trying to gain their
forgiveness for our role in their pain and forget that they participated
in this process as well. As the saying goes, 'it takes two to tango.'
Whatever transpired between us was as much their responsibility as ours,
sometimes more. Any relationship in which we feel we must take care of
someone contains clues to our own healing and release. What do we need
to do for ourselves in this situation to complete it, instead of
engaging in cycles of endless giving that will never give us what we
need?
We
have to remind ourselves that encoded within every relationship is the
information we need for our own healing. Fulfilling our contracts is not
dependent on getting another's approval, we can make the choice to end
karmic cycles and let others be responsible for their own actions. We
never get extra points for suffering and by paying attention to our own
needs we ensure that we get the care we need so our energy goes where it
can best serve our own growth and healing. This week, as you think
about someone you feel responsible for and ask what promises you are
trying to fulfill and remember that you do not need their permission or
approval to forgive and release yourself from the obligations you have
created with them.
I will talk about this in greater detail on this week's radio show on Blog Talk Radio.
Read the October article. You can read the Frog and Scorpion fable from November's message by clicking here.

The Meaning in Meaningful
I
learn so much from my interactions with clients because very often the
information they receive also contains messages for me. And I have
noticed that groups of clients will have similar questions. Lately the
questions have been around what is meaningful to them, what this
represents in their life and whether they wish to keep or release it.
This is such a big issue because we are willing to put a lot of time and
energy towards what it is meaningful to us. But we do it without asking
another question, what does it mean to me and why? What we hold up as
meaningful can sometimes be a habit that we engage in without asking
ourselves why.
For
the past two years I have struggled with the decision to move to a new
location but it is only in the past few weeks that I have come to
realize why it was such a big issue for me. Moving to a place where I
feel I belong and am comfortable in is the reason I want to move but I
also want to move into a home similar to the one I now own. That is
meaningful to me but for other reasons than I knew until I did some
digging into my soul.
Having
a home means stability and security to me, things I did not have in my
childhood. In fact, my parents never even owned a home, partly because
of my father's job, and because both of my parents had unstable
childhoods and they never considered buying one. Knowing where my home
is, having a place to plant my feet, and owning my space, are all
meaningful for me because what they mean is that I know where I live (we
moved a lot) and I have a stable foundation. But it has become a habit
that keeps me stuck in one place when I would be happier somewhere else.
With
all of that going on, no wonder I have yet to replace my 'for sale'
sign that the wind blew away a month ago. What a relief this realization
brings because now I can confidently sell my house and move, knowing
that I have the ability to create this foundation wherever I live. What
is meaningful to you in your life-what do you give your time, energy and
attention to and do you know why it is so important? Could this be the
hidden reasons behind any blocks in the movement in your life? As you
consider the meaning behind what you consider to be meaningful you may
find the answers to important questions so you can confidently move
ahead in your life and consciously create meaningful experiences whose
meanings support your dreams.

Uriel's Message -- Seek with an Open Mind
As
you open your heart to receiving and create a space where you allow
yourself to be blessed by the unlimited abundance that is available to
you, you must also open your mind so you can acknowledge that there are
greater possibilities than those limited by your thinking. When the
heart desires what the mind believes is impossible your dreams always
seem to be beyond your reach because you cannot manifest what you do not
think is possible for you. Your heart and mind must be in balance to
create boundless abundance, joy and love and to fulfill your dreams.
The
open heart transcends the third dimension and creates from higher
vibrations that allow the manifestation of miracles. Without the
agreement and equal participation of the mind, which is closed when it
is grounded in the third dimension, your desires are limited by the
mind's judgments. Unlimited creation is your destiny and this is in true
alignment with your heart. You must open the mind to allow it to be on
the same plane of creation as the heart or you will feel stuck and
limited in every aspect of your life.
How
can you manifest your heart's desire if your mind is not listening to
its voice? When it is closed it unable to access the higher dimensions
in your field of potential, in which you find everything that is not in
your life in this moment. Everything you desire is possible for you and
the wish for it comes from your heart. Your closed mind will see this as
impossible; your open mind agrees with the heart and creates the
thoughts that make the wish possible.
Without
the balance between the heart and mind you become a limited creator,
grounded in that which you can know through the mind's logic and
intellect. The heart is filled with your dreams, and holds the promise
of joy and love that are your birthright but their fulfillment lies
within the mind, through which you send out the thoughts that create the
heart's desires. Allow your mind to be as open as your heart is so when
the heart speaks to you of your life's possibilities your mind is able
to expand to include your dreams in its thinking and you will find the
abundance, joy and love you seek.

Your Children Chose You
So
many parents write to me of how they think they are not good parents
because they are divorced, struggling financially, feel that can't meet
their children's needs, are not doing the right things or fulfilling
their obligations as parents. I know that this isn't true because
children and parents choose each other, based on their joint needs
within the scope of that relationship and to get the experiences they
need for healing as well as establish the karma they will have to deal
with. Whatever you are experiencing as a parent and provider at this
moment was known to you and to your children before they chose you as
their parent.
Even
if you are penniless, homeless and living in your car, that is part of
the experience your children needed from you as part of their soul
journey. The new generations of children have compassionate hearts and
some of them need to experience suffering so they can better understand
how others suffer. Some need to live with a single parent, father or
mother, so they can build that energy within themselves by seeing it in
action in their parent. Others want to learn how to triumph over
struggle because they failed in a past lifetime, so they will chose a
parent who can teach them about experiencing and overcoming financial,
emotional, physical or spiritual struggle.
We
equate good parenting with providing everything we think our children
need on a material level, forgetting that they are also souls on their
own path. Everything they experience in their life with you is part of
that path. Their learning doesn't start when they are adults, it begins
even before conception, as they are choosing the details of their life
experience, which includes the parents who will be their best teachers
for the lessons they needed to learn and the work they needed to do.
When
you think that you are not being a good parent, you can remember that
these choices are deliberate and well considered. You chose each other
because you could be the parent they needed and you agreed to be part of
everything that you are doing right now. So mistakes are not happening
and you are not letting your children down. In fact, you are probably
exceeding their expectations and doing exactly what they need you to do.
Instead of judging your performance as a parent, be grateful that you
are doing the perfect job and the life you have with your children is
the one they also chose to have with you.

There is certainly plenty of reason to be mad at the meat industry, but that's on the same premise that we ought to be mad at any vertically organized money driven machine. But my view is opposite. I live in a place and time when private persons, trying to make a living by growing ANY KIND of food is pressed between tangling regulation and a market of fewer and fewer buyers. Not simply talking about fewer meat eaters, but fewer packers. Fewer and larger organizations that buy from the farm and produce "food" for sale at Walmart and Wegmans. Prices are held so low that only growers that are large in scope can stay in business.
It is simply illegal for me (shepherd) to sell to you (eater or cook) without USDA inspection, and that isn't going to happen unless my operation is large enough to justify the inspector's salary. I have to sell to, or hire a plant with an inspector, because of that cost, that the fraction I can put in my pocket will hardly cover my costs. Soon, similar regulation is going to overshadow vegetables, and other foods as well. Some argue that this is not at all about food safety, but about control. I have NEVER heard of a person made sick by processed out back of the barn. Much less is it likely to cause a wide spread epidemic, if fewer people are fed from local butcher shops and farms, so that one bad actor can reach fewer customers?
Cruelty to the animal is only one matter that a properly educated radical ought to be considering.

Yes,
encounters with ghosts and strange creatures can be quite frightening,
but they cannot compare with the the truly horrifying monsters that some
flesh-and-blood people can become. Such is the case with the young man
in this week's feature, a "werewolf" whose abominable deeds out-gross
anything Hollywood slasher movies can dish out. Also see a new
shadowperson video, for your review. And don't forget about our Halloween costume contest. There's still time to enter!
The Werewolf of Bedburg
Are there real werewolves?
You may be surprised by the true story of Peter Stubbe, a monster who
made a deal with the Devil and terrorized a German village for years
with unspeakably cruel crimes and murders -- and that ended on Halloween long ago. Be warned: This is a disturbing one!
Video of the Week: Upstairs Shadowperson
This
video appears to have been made by a kid who was documenting his house
for his own kid reasons. Then, unexpectedly, a shadow person seems to
cross the scene. This scares the kid and the video ends. Is this a
genuine shadowperson... just a shadow... or a fake? Read more, watch the
video and take the poll.

CNY Spirits at the Homer Center for the Arts
In this episode of CNY Spirits, lead investigators Carolyn Lamie and Matt Cary take the Central New York Ghost Hunters to the Homer Center for the Arts in Homer, New York.
There are several anecdotes of ghost sightings there, including that of
a maintenance worker. The most eerie have been the sightings of ghost
children that looked so real that staff members at first thought they
belonged to the day care center that was there at the time. But all
those children were accounted for. Read more and watch the episode.

Vegetarians

Next, on topic:
Yanno, you're sounding just like the bible thumping evangalists! It is my way or the highway. There is absolutely no evidence that a vegetarian or a vegan diet ia bad for your health. I have been vegetarian for almost 20 years and am 72 years old. The only problem I have is diabetes which came from my stupidity in my 20s and 30. It is my fault!
For those of you that are anti-vegetarianism, just think of the harm you take on from eating meat. The pesticided that are on the plants that the "meat" eats, the hormones, the force feeding to make more marbling fats, the water that they drink. This all goes into the meat unless you eat organically grown meats. Even then what they eat is concentrated in them.
The orientals and others around the world use meat more as a flavoring than a full meal.
For those of you that eat meat, I challenge you to kill your own, clean it and dress it and get your hands into a dead carcus.
Now, all of this sound strange, maybe so but the point is that each of us have free will to decide for ourselves what we want to eat and what we want to avoid eating. Plus, we all have to realize that there are consequences to everything we do.
During this holiday season, what are you feeding your kids? A lot of sugar? Our society is obese now, so before you preach about being a vegetarian or an omnivore (not carnivore because people don't just eat meat alone), look at your own health.

Hi Don,
I am a meat eater. I only eat local, free range, organically raised
meat. I also only eat meat from animals of a type that I have (at
least once) raised and killed. I believe that it is unethical to eat
meat without truly understanding the sacrifice of a living thing that
is involved. I have raised and killed cattle, pigs, chickens and
rabbits and have hunted and killed numerous others. I alway say a
blessing over the animal that was killed so that I can eat it's flesh
before I eat any meat.

That's one of the points I was trying to get across. Killing of
an animal by some distant packing companies and giving it to you
as prepackaged meat, just bypasses the whole idea of personal
responsibility. If you have killed animals for food, then you
are correct in realizing that it is a life that is taken to
sustain your own life. Saying a blessing over the animal shows
respect, the respect that was ingrained in the Native Americans.
So to each his own. Meat eater or Vegetarian, we each have our
own bodies and psyches to take care of the way we think is right.

DailyOM - Laboring Under a Label
Today's DailyOM brought to you by:
October 18, 2010
Turn it Around
Laboring Under a Label
Are you living under the guise of a label? Do you put a label on people?
We live in a culture that uses labels as a means of understanding the world and
the people living in it. As a result, many of us find ourselves laboring under a
label that has a negative connotation. Unless we can find a way to see the good
in such a label, we may feel burdened by an idea of ourselves that is not
accurate. It is important to remember that almost nothing in this world is all
good or all bad, and most everything is a complex mixture of gifts and
challenges. In addition, different cultures revere certain qualities over
others, but this does not mean that these qualities are inherently good or bad.
For example, a culture that elevates outgoing behavior will label an introvert
in a negative way, calling them antisocial. In truth, the ability to spend time
alone is one that most great artists, mystics, and visionaries share. Owning the
positive side of this label can lead us deeper into our gifted visions and
fertile imaginations.
When we look into the lives of any of the great people in history, we always
find that they had quirks and eccentricities that earned them less than ideal
labels from the societies in which they lived. Many famous artists and musicians
were considered to be isolated loners or disruptive troublemakers, or sometimes
both, yet these people altered history and contributed to the world an original
vision or advances in our understanding of the universe. If we can remember this
as we examine our own selves and the labels people use to describe us, we find
that there is a bright side to any characterization.
If you have been labeled, remember that all you have to do to see the positive
side is to turn the label around. For example, you may be considered to be
overly emotional, and the fact that you are perceived this way may make you feel
out of control. But notice, too, the gifts of being able to feel and express
your emotions, even in a world that doesnât always encourage that. You might
begin to see yourself as brave and open-hearted enough to stay alive to your
feelings. You may also see that there are certain paths and professions in which
this is a necessary ability. As you turn your label around, the light of your
true nature shines to guide you on your way.

âTo forgive is to set a prisoner free and realize that prisoner was you.â -Lewis B. Smedes
Nothing hurts more than resentment. When you sit around reliving
painful stories, feeling angry and justified, it doesnât right past
wrongs. It doesnât teach people how to treat you. It doesnât in any way
heal you.
All anger does is force you to relive a moment thatâs come and gone.
And all that dwelling can actually cause you emotional and physical
diseaseâ"stress, anxiety, depression, high blood pressure, stomach ulcers, and even heart attack.
Every day we have a choice as to what we see in the world, and it starts in where we focus our thoughts. Forgiveness sets you free. It allows you to experience all the kindness in front of you without the weight of the hurtful behind you.
Only we can open our eyes to whatâs good in our today by releasing
the bad in yesterday. What do you need to let go of today to create
space for peace?

How to Forgive Someone When Itâs Hard: 30 Tips to Let Go of AngerOct 17, 2010 01:07 am | Lori Deschene
by Lori Deschene
âThe weak can never forgive. Forgiveness is the attribute of the strong.â ~Mahatma Gandhi
Up until my early 20s, I carried around a lot of anger toward someone
in my life. Iâd been hurt by a person I trusted, and for a long time in
my adolescence I wanted to hurt them back.
I lived in painful stories and in visions of what could have been if I
hadnât been wronged. I blamed someone else for the life I didnât have,
and felt vindicated in the soul-sucking resentment I carried around from
day to day.
I realize it makes less compelling writing to talk so generally, but
these stories arenât only mine to tell. They involve someone I love and
have since forgiven. So perhaps the kindest thing I can do both for them
and me is not retell the story, but instead create a new one: a story about letting go.
Itâs a hard thing to doâ"to completely let go of something painful and
forgive the person who may or may not have realized what they did. At
my angriest point, I was convinced the person who hurt me did it with
full intention and cruelty. I felt not a shred of compassion; just
unadulterated pain and rage.
Then I realized: unless someone is a sociopath, they are rarely
without feeling. And if theyâve hurt another person, even if their ego
prevents them from admitting it, odds are they feel remorse on some
level.
No one is purely bad, and everyone carries their own pain which
influences the decisions they make. This doesnât condone their
thoughtless, insensitive, or selfish decisions, but it makes them easier
to understand.
After all, weâve all been thoughtless, insensitive, and selfish at times. Usually, we have good intentions.
And for the most part, we all do the best we can from day to dayâ"even
when we hurt someone; even when weâre too stubborn, ashamed, or in
denial to admit the hurt weâve caused.
So how do you forgive someone when every fiber of your being resists?
How do you look at them lovingly when you still have the memory of
their unloving action? How do let go of the way you wish things had
worked out if only they made a different choice?
I decided to consult the Tiny Buddha Facebook community to learn how theyâve moved on from anger and resentment.
Readers offered nearly 150 ideas to help forgive someone when itâs hard. The ones that resonated with my most strongly were:
I remember them as a child and itâs much easier! -Joy ThompsonI remind myself that I forgive not for them but for me and that itâs
easier to forgive than to hang on to so much anger, hurt and betrayal. -Sarah ClarkI just acknowledge that we are humans, so we are allowed to make mistakes. -Haydee Lizbeth Lopez CruzRemind yourself that they are not separate from you; they only
appear that way. Then you will realize you are one, and it is yourself
you are forgiving. -Justin HaydenDo not keep thinking of the past or the bad thing that happened;
when you let go of it, you get over the anger/bitterness that you felt
and it clears the path of forgiveness! The best thing is time! -Ashna SinghRemember that we are all doing the best we can at the time. -Diane PaulRemind yourself of how much forgiveness would mean to you if it was your turn for a mistake! â" Carol Mcbride-SaffordWayne Dwyer describes how hate is love which has been turned around.
Seeing the expression of what canât be forgiven as love makes it easier
to forgive. Were also all doing the best we can, according to our own
evolutionary state, including those we find hard to forgive. â" Lise HeeleyBecause it takes less energy to love and forgive than it does to stay angry and hold a grudge. It brings peace to your life. -Linda AdamsI know that I need to forgive someone, not for their benefit, but
for my own peace of mind. Donât do it for them, do it for you! -Cathryn KentYou remember why you love them. Love is about forgiveness.- Holly Chapman Forgiveness comes easier with the passing of time. I tend to find
that, if I am wronged, I forgive the person before they forgive
themselves, and when I am in need of forgiveness, it is I who feels the
guilt for longer. -Mandy RichardsonStop thinking and just do it. Open your heart and forgive. -Lindsey WindrowDonât force it. If I donât feel forgiving, I can at least not act on
my anger. Eventually forgiveness will come if you welcome it. -Julie TrottierJust learn to smile and let things go. -Sudharma LamaGive up on all hope of a better past. -Matt Child Every time you think of them send them love. After a while it gets easy. -Crystal ChangMeditate, meditate and meditate some more until itâs gone! -Margot Knight-GuijtThe harder it is to forgive someone else, the more I am responsible. When I understand and forgive myself, forgiving others is easy. -Pamela PicardTwo different approaches. One involves restoring your boundaries and
sense of protection first. The other involves focusing on what your
body is feeling and stop dwelling on the offense. Both involve being
present. -Chris CampaForgiveness comes easy when you know that what people say or do is about them, itâs not about you. -Kim KingsShift the focus, feel the pain and think of the thousands of others
in the world who are also feeling the same pain, then send a
loving-kindness message to everyone to be relieved of this suffering.
-Nick OngWhen it happens I often ask myself âWhat strengths must I develop
further from this?â Often the feeling of resentment just goes away,
slowly but surely, because I wasnât focusing on the person that wronged
me, but the lesson that the event was trying to tell me. -Natassia Callista AliciaI allow myself to feel again whatever I didnât express âin the
momentâ when I was with them. Forgiveness always seem to follow those
(usually) difficult emotions. -Cynthia Ruprecht HuntWrite a brutally honest, emotionally raw letter telling them
how much they have hurt and angered you, then tear it up and burn it.
As you watch the smoke rise, think about the fact that you are not that hurt and that anger.
It is fleeting, just like everything else. As the smoke carrying your
hurt and disappointment disappears into the air, you can let it go. -Renate WuersigFor some wrongs, I just have to remember that they are responsible
for their actions and then it is easier for me to just let it be. -Karen GarlandBy remembering that it will free me from the burden of the stress I
feel, also, if I canât forgive then how can I expect to ever be
forgiven? -Leslie BrownJust look to the future instead of focusing on whatâs pastâ¦think of creating new good memories to wipe away old bad ones. -Elizabeth LindsayIt becomes easy when you remember a time when you were forgiven, centering on how it made you feel. -Louisya GravesUnderstand this: whether you like it or not, over time, you
will stop feeling the pain, so why hold on to something thatâs going to
away anyway? -Nirav KAKU
How did I forgive when it was hard? I came to this realization: no
one ever gets to the end of their life and thinks, âI wish I stayed
angry longer.â They generally say one of three things: âIâm sorry,â âI
forgive you,â or âI love you.â
After taking space to heal myself, I decided to cut out the middle
man of time. I now set boundaries to take better care of me, but Iâll
never regret that Iâve forgiven.

Four points to consider
Posted by: "charlesparnold@yahoo.com" charlesparnold@yahoo.com charlesparnold
Mon Oct 18, 2010 12:28 pm (PDT)
A couple of things here that I wanted to pass on:
It seems that Pagan Veterans of the United States of America is crumbling since
I resigned as National Commander. To my mind this typifies one of the biggest
flaws in the Pagan community; as long as someone wants to take over, do 99% of
the work, pay out 99% of the money, things go smoothly. Smoothly except for the
fact that the person doing all the work and putting out all of the money is them
automatically attacked by other Pagans for what they are doing. Talk about
self-defeating attributes. There again, most Pagans seem to take neither
themselves, their community, their religions or their Gods very seriously.
A senatorial candidate in Maryland is being crucified because, back about
fifteen or so years ago, at the height of the Paganism Fad she read a few books
on Paganism and, for a while, called herself a Witch. Now that she is running
for the US Senate she is being pilloried for this AND I HAVEN'T HEARD A SINGLE
PAGAN STICK UP FOR HER. What nonsense.
Next, it seems that the Cambridge, MA, school board is going to join with the
board from Burlington, VT and one or two others and create a religious holiday
for students from the Muslim calendar. Are Pagans going to stand for this? If
any school board creates such a Muslim religious holiday we ABSOLUTELY MUST then
contact that school board and demand equal treatment; November 1 and May 1 must
be declared Wiccan religious holidays and all schools within that board's
discretion MUST be closed.
And, finally, several religious experts have starting agreeing publicly with
what I have been saying for about 30 years - all religions are not the same.
Religions do not all lead to the same place. The various faiths around the world
are often diametrically different in what they teach, what they are about, how
they see humankind and in hundreds of other ways. Different religions are
different paths that lead to the tops of different mountains, often on different
continents if not different planets.

My dear friend, Charles, wrote something!
A) Charles I hope you didn't take my opposition to your headstone campaign personally. Having met you in person, I feel like your a fine fellow, I just disagree with you on that point.
2) They say leading pagans is like herding cats. I say that is as it should be, if we follow like sheep where will we end up? A friend of mine leads a group, which is turning over all the time, members come and go. That's ok, I think, as this goes on, also people meet who become genuine friends and their relationships outlive any "membership" My friend sometimes expresses frustration over this dynamic, but I think it is as it should be.
III) If just follows from the law of averages that someday, pagans, witches, etc. will appear in politics. We ought to foresee and prepare for this, if we decide to run.
(gimmel) Truly, I have heard nothing about Mass. races. I haven't even been to KRF since christ was a corporal. I think it's kind of a distraction when local races become national news. Do NJ pagans even knew who is running in NJ? They didn't when I lived there. Even at that, I hear about NJ and NY politics from here, 5700 miles away, what a darned nuisance.
What's to say about a pagan politician, but that it ought to be a non-issue.
(n+1) As for taking it seriously? If we invest in something for gain, that's one matter, doing what your heart tells you should be done is another. My hat is off to anyone who has the gumption to do, doing is the best way to say anything.

O'Donell and Paul

O'Donell is way to attractive to be a politician. Her candidacy, although amusing, is a non-issue here in Washington, her witchcraft (or lack thereof) even less so. I'm sure I read somewhere, some authority writing that she just said stupid stuff that a "real" witch would not have said.
Lets also consider Paul of Kentucky and his Aqua Budda. He sort of footshoots *our* stereotype of the tea party, don't he ;) If we threw out every politician that blindfolded initiates, we'd soon run out of them
Ah hAH! that's it!

Wizard and Witch Newsletter

Monday October 18, 2010
Hello Friends
Did you have a good weekend? We've been busy picking up lots of chores that somehow got left behind. We did make time to visit Old Winchester Hill - it's an iron age hill fort with burial mounds. A lovely autumn walk with stunning views (and a very strong breeze).
I have a Halloween Ghost giveaway on my blog if you'd care to pop on over.
I'm writing the newsletter this week and what a better way to get in the Halloween spirit than with a scary fairy?
Lore & Mythos
Now that the weather in getting colder day by day and the nights are drawing in take extra care if you're out and about in Scotland or Ireland because there may be a Fachan lurking about.
Whether you call it a Fachan, Fechan, Fackin or Peg Leg Jack you'll
be sorry to catch sight of this fairy. It's so terribly ugly it's been
known to cause fatal heart attacks in us mere mortals. It has one eye,
one leg and a withered arm coming out of it's chest. And if that isn't
awful enough it has a mane of black feathers and a very wide mouth.
As well as being hideously ugly it's said the Fachan is immensely
strong. The Fachan carries around a club and can destroy an orchard in a
single night. It's not much of a people person, preferring to live like
a hermit and will whack humans with his club if his looks don't kill
them first.
There's very little written down on the legends of the Fachan. In John Francis Campbell's Popular Tales of the West Highlands a Fachan by the name of Nesnas Nhiccallain lost a race against the King of Ireland.
It's been suggested the fairy is nothing more than a memory passed
down the generations of Celtic seers who would stand on one leg, raise
one arm and close an eye when casting spells.
Another bizarre theory is the Fachan is really a Moa, a large, now extinct flightless bird from New Zealand, that somehow managed to cross halfway around the world.
Or, quite possibly, the Fachan is simply fae.
Recipe
You can't beat a bowl of soup for lunch when the weather gets cold.
Although there are variations on this soup all over the world I believe
it originated in Scotland.
Leek and Potato Soup
What you need:
4 large leeks, sliced2 large potatoes, scrubbed and diced2 pints vegetable stockbutter
salt and black pepper to tasteDouble (heavy) cream to garnish (optional)
What to do:
Melt the butter in a heavy-based saucepan.Add the leeks and potatoes. Stir well.Season and leave on a very low heat for about 15 minutes stirring occasionally.
Add stock and bring to a simmering point.Cover and cook for 20 minutes or until the vegetables are very soft.Allow the soup to cool then puree in a blender.Reheat, serve and add a spoonful of cream to garnish.
Something to think about

Enjoy your week!

Subject: [which_witch_is_witch] Breaking the Ice for Mysticrayne, Heather,
Welcome to the Group!
Hi and Welcome Heather
Cher
This is a way to break the proverbial ice welcome you into the group.
You don't have to answer it its all in fun! after all if we can not laugh, what
is there?
Name: Heather or MysticRayne
How many years young are you? 28. I was born on the 9th of June.
What town/county do you live in?: Ohio
What path/belief/tradition/ religion do you follow or drawn too? I haven't yet
found any one specific path that meets my beliefs so for now I simply call
myself an Eclectic Pagan.
Which God/Goddess are you closest to?: Freya and Zeus. Different pantheons I
know, but...who am I to argue?
Do you have a "totem" or power animal?: Yes, Grey Wolf, Black Jaguar and
Siberian Tiger.
What other "non-pagan" things are you interested in?: Reading, listening to
music, fishing, writing fiction.
How long have you been interested/studying/practicing? I first became
interested in Paganism back when I was about 13. I acquired a book on Wicca and
read it several times, but that's as far as my research went back then. Back in
about '06 or '07, my interest in Paganism returned and I began seriously looking
into it. In Feb. '08, I officially declared myself a Wiccan to my immediate
family and closest friends. Several months and a ton of reading later, I
realized that Wicca isn't for me and began simply calling myself a Pagan. I
have yet to ease off on the studying and learning and doubt I ever will. :)
Do you have a book of Shadows?: Yep, sure do.
Do you have an Altar? Not really.
Coven or solitary? preference? Solitary
Anything else you'd like to tell the group about yourself or
your path? I'm a writer. Haven't had anything published as of yet, but I write
fiction. Romance genre. I also am divorced and have a dog and a cat. :) I'm
looking forward to meeting you all!

Herb of the Day: Lovers' Heart Bean
Posted by: "Ash" mhc4sure@yahoo.com mhc4sure

Herb of the Day:
Lovers Heart Bean
Other Names; Sea Heart / Sea Bean / Lucky Sea Beans
A
high-climbing, woody, tropical vine from the Caribbean produces the
large sea heart seeds in four- to seven-foot, twisted fruit pods. Each
pod contains ten to fifteen seeds enclosed in individual compartments.
These compartments are quite fragile and seldom endure a trip across the
water, but the sea heart seeds have an extremely hard coating and can
remain buoyant for at least two years. They, too, can be polished and
are used extensively for making curio jewelry.
Female energy; Sacred to the Goddess of Sea and Moon as well as Poseidon. Used in love spells and spells of lust.
Used
in magick for longevity in life, staying power and longevity in sex,
fertility magick, protection of pregnant women and healthy pregnancyâs.
Can be made into jewelry, carried or burned for magick. Wear one around
your neck or place one beneath your bed before you make love, to help
inspire passion in affairs of true love.
