Angelitos Day (Mexico)

About Tonacacihuatl: In Mexico this Goddess's names means "Our Lady of Flesh".
Tonacacihuatl is a creatrix who
gives life to all things and to whom the spirits of children return at death.
To Do Today: Part of a weeklong festival for the dead, Angelitos Day is
specially focused on departed children. If there
is a child that has passed over and who was special to you somehow, make cakes
or foods that feature symbols of
death and leave them in a special spot. This invites Tonacacihuatl to release
that child's spirit for the day and welcomes
the souls of the departed to the festival.
Put out the child's picture in a place of honor with a candle nearby to help
light their way. Cook and eat the young one's
favorite foods, leave a lamp lit neat your threshold, and strew flowers
(especially) marigolds or dandelions) on the walkway
to guide the child's spirit back home.
According to tradition, eating hen or chicken today ensures a visitation by
ghosts, because the bird can't crow loudly and
frighten the spirits away! In all due caution, however, you might want to keep a
little salt, violet petals, sage or ginseng
handy to banish any unwanted ghostly guests.

Spell - A- Day - Lost-in-the-Dark Bells
Cast a protective circle, and light candles of blue, violet, and black. Close
your eyes and relax your body into the gentle rhythm of your breath. Invite
Persephone to guide you into the depths of your own underworld. Visualize her
holding your hand as you wind your way down through dark ancient passageways.
As images arise, keep breathing. These energies exist in your own shadow self,
wherein reside aspects of your rejected identity—projected fears, attachments,
addictions, and so on. Ask Persephone to help you heal that which needs
healing. Be proactive in your meditation; visualize it happening. When you are
ready to resurface, thank Persephone for her guidance, and slowly bring
yourself back to consciousness.

Pouch To Heal The Heart Chakra
Materials Needed: green candle, rose water essential oil, rose incense,
green fabric, pink thread, needle, red paper heart,
lavender, bay leaf, rosemary, and a rose quartz.
Spell: To be performed during the waxing moon with the moon in the sign
of Taurus. Anoint candle with rose water
while the purpose is stated, and light candle. Incense is now lit. Next anoint
heart chakra with the rose water along with
the green cloth. The red heart is made and then anointed with rose water. Touch
the heart to your heart then place it on
the cloth. Then add a bay leaf, lavender, rosemary, and the rose quartz.
Anoint the thread with rose water. Sowed the
pouch closed. Hold the pouch over the candle and incense. Touch it to your heart
chakra and then hold it in your hands.
All the while thinking healing thoughts directed towards your heart. Sleep with
it under your pillow and when needed carry
it on your person. When your heart chakra feels stronger or the pouch has
weakened bury it. Blessed Be!

The hero put Medusa's head down for a moment,
remembering not to scratch it on sharp rocks.
There was a small soft patch of seaweed and of fern,
and Medusa having been a daughter of the sea
was welcomed by the plants there as a sister.
And her power transformed them: each stem,
each leaf, each tendril hardened into stone.
Sea nymphs, excited, brought more seaweed
to Medusa's head, to watch the magic happen
as fading green turned into semiprecious stones
and filigrees and dainty lace. This how coral came to be:
from those weeds petrified by Medusa's gaze.

Medusa is one of those ancient goddesses who was converted into a monster by
later cultures. The familiar myth
shows her as a terrifying figure, a snake-haired woman who turns to stone anyone
who looks upon her. Yet this
winged, angelic figure was once a solar divinity, a great goddess whose very
name means "ruler of humanity."
Hers was the magic of transformation, which comes through centuries after her
demonization, in the words of the
Roman poet Ovid.
We demonize those whose power we fear. There would be no need to call her
monstrous if Medusa did not represent
a kind of power which makes some feel uncomfortable. She is like an inkblot
test: we see in her the very thing we
fear. That is Medusa's true mirror. Look into her face, and you will be frozen
in your own inner terrors. And from that
moment, you can move toward transformation, because you will know what you fear.

Samhain Blessings...Come in and honor our loved ones that past!
Samhain is the time of year we remember, we name, we honor, and speak with the
dead. I want to ask anyone that is interested if they would like to share some
names of loved ones that passed and if they like post a little prayer to honor
them.
Maybe talk about them and share some good memories about them with us.
Also I would like to ask after we share thoughts of our loved ones that passed,
I would like to bring back joy and name the newborn babies and new freinds we
have found this past year.

Traditionally known as Merry Mischief Night, I think of this night as a time to
work my personal magic, before the public festivity of Hallowe'en, or the
circle ritual of Samhain. It's a time to take care of myself before attending
to the needs of my children, family, circle, and community. While everyone is
safely tucked into bed, I quietly slip into dark clothes and go outside.
Standing with my bare feet on the cold earth, I dance slowly, feeling secretive
and mischievous. What giddy joy. My family sleeps. In the waning light of the
fourth quarter Moon, let yourself dance in the dark, celebrating the private
magic that lies within you. Free from the demands of family, friends, or
community, dance mischievously in the dark, summoning your deepest desires. As
they are revealed to you, know the blessing of the Dark Goddess is upon you.

Elder's Meditation of the Day October 30
"My children, you have forgotten the customs and traditions of your forefathers.
...You have bought guns, knives, kettles, and blankets from the white man until
you can no longer do without them; and what is worse you have drunk the poison
firewater, which turns you into fools. Fling all these things away; live as
your forefathers did before you."

We need to think as our forefathers did. They knew the culture and the customs.
The culture taught them how to live in harmony with each other. We need to
think like this again. We must be God-reliant. We don't need the firewater.
This liquid is very destructive to our native people. It kills our spirit. Our
Indian people are happiest when we are spiritual. When we depend on anyone or
anything else, we get off track. We need to talk to the Elders and find out
what the old ways were. We need to ask them to teach us the culture, the
tradition, and the customs. This will help us become whole again.
My Maker, guide my path as you did my ancestors.

Beltane & Samhain Blessings

Greetings and Brightest of Blessings All,
On September 20th –21st 2010 . I came up with a NEW Television/ You Tube Channel concept to promote my artistic talents, bring creative ideas and information to those who may be interested and especially to entertain the global community.
I have attempted to do this a number of times with The Cosmic Cauldron Newsletter, Cosmic Cauldron Radio, Cosmic TV and The Sacred Order of Pastafarian Pirates Radio Station … unfortunately due to lack of support and interest, I allowed these "projects" to stagnate.
Perhaps this time I will manage to gain people's interest and generate a following!
Especially, when you consider what I had to endure to get this project finalised.
Back in September, I came up with this idea … registered a LIVE TV station or two online, registered a You Tube Channel, created a Web Site, downloaded, installed and learnt Muvizu, created several experimental music videos (The Robots) just so I could LAUNCH this project on the 31st October– 1st November (Beltane/ Samhain/ Halloween).
Now for those who are unaware of the Pagan Festivals, Samhain in the Northern Hemisphere is Beltane in the Southern Hemisphere and Samhain equates to the American Cultural Holiday Halloween.
Anyway for a month I busied myself to learn Muvizu and do pre-production for my new Channels …
Unfortunately, the Channels will not be launched as I wished because last week my computer with all my programs, tools, artwork on it …blew up … large BANG then nothing … Lucky for me my Geek partner and our computer programming friend came to the rescue … it was only the power source/ box that blew up.
Dusty power box and fan, pushing the machine to hard; with too many programs working …converting Videos and Rendering animations on a hot days will do that to a computer …
Equally unfortunate is the fact that my machine has not been repaired as of yet … so here we are on deadline day … my unhappy partner (Louise/ Dragonfly) was forced to relinquish her baby … so I could at least complete a form of my "Halloween Special" animation project which I had saved on an external hard-drive.
I commandeered her computer and downloaded Muvizu, Any Video Converter, Audacity, Format Factory and installed them onto her Laptop (Louise's Baby) and also, installed Cyberlink Power Director (hoping that she may find a use for them at a later date) …
So, although I am unable to launch the NEW Live Channels, I have managed after a week of hard work to be able to complete my project and present it to you for your entertainment.

Wow what a terrific time, this is the best place I've ever experienced, they had
the
most amazing ritual and spirit walk for Samhain, the park was so breath taking,
there
had to be 1000's of people there easy, there is just no words, the coven was so
wonderful
wearing all white gowns with lights under them doing energy work on the rocks
just amazing
I have to show you the photos, here is the link for anyone that ever wants to
venture out
there and experience this you really have to try this at least once in your
life!

one person in the couple may support the other person going back to school. In
order to do this, he or she steps into a supporting role, setting aside certain
goals or aspirations in order to provide a stable base from which his or her
partner can launch in a new direction. There are many gifts of learning inherent
in this role—from having the opportunity to embody a nurturing stance to feeling
the pleasure of seeing a loved one thrive. When our partner expands his or her
horizons, ours expand, too, and we gain access to a world that would otherwise
remain closed to us.
However, there is also much to be said for having a turn to be the one stepping
outside the box, perhaps taking time to attend to our personal healing,
spiritual pursuits, or other interests. In order to maintain balance within our
relationships, it's important that we address these issues each time one person
steps into a supporting role so the other can try something new. When we are
conscious about acknowledging that one person is bearing a bit more of a burden
so that the other can grow, we stand a better chance of making sure the ebb and
flow in the relationship remains fair and equal.
The most important part of this process is open communication in which each
person has a chance to express how they feel and come to an understanding about
the roles they have agreed to play and when they expect them to shift. Each time
a dynamic shift occurs, a ceremony of acknowledgment can lend an air of
distinction to the moment. This can be a simple dinner date or an elaborate
ritual, depending upon what works best for us at the time. Perhaps the most
important thing is expressing gratitude to the person in the supporting role and
encouragement to the person moving in a new direction. When the flow of feeling
and communication is open, a healthy closeness develops that allows each person
in the relationship to have a turn at each of these important roles.

yodel but I am addicted to several things, my hubby, my kids, my new grandbaby
Abi, my new kitten Midnight Moongazer, taking pictures, music, books, DVD's,
roses, snail mail for friends I've met online who live far away from me) writing
poetry, ummmm road trips, my Ya-Ya club, scrapbooking (just getting into that)
collecting Amy Brown fairies and anything else she has like paintings, throw
blankets, tarot cards,,the list goes on.

Coven or solitary? preference? I am the HP of the coven I founded called Gaia;s
Sacred Circle. We have several sites including a Yahoo group. I was solitary for
a LONG time and the group I had been doing rituals/gatherings with asked if I
would start a coven. It took me a couple of week to make up my mind and then
they asked me to be HP. So everyone voted on it and ta da. So I work on the
sites since I am disabled for serious problems.
( still being nosy aren't we!?)

Anything else you'd like to tell the group about yourself or
your path?((ya know..anything...)) I am on the net a lot because I have serious
health issues. I am on my 4th cancer (Non Hodgkin Lymphoma (and am terminal),
Degenerative disk disease so 3 weeks ago I had my 4th back surgery. Due to all
the chemo and radiation from the other cancer's, my heart is too weak to put me
out so I had to be awake. YES AWAKE! It was horrible (and I cant take chemo)! It
also makes me pass out with out warning so the Great State of Alabama took away
my license indefinitely (that was their words) and after taking Seroquel for 3
months, I got diabetes and am part of a lawsuit with them. I also have sciatic
nerve damage that runs from the lower right back down to my and into my right
leg & foot. I am not telling this for sympathy but to let you know to not freak
out when my status says "In Brookwood ICU AGAIN" I am always put in ICU and they
have WiFi so I keep a bag packed and I take my computer and DVD's.I passed out 2
weeks ago and my heart stopped. My husband has been through all of this with me.
He is my rock. I get up everyday and treat it like my last. I write letters for
my kids and grand baby to read when I'm gone. I maintain all of the covens
sites. Write the rituals after everyone has put their input and idea's in. I
post interesting things about the different Sabbats, poetry, start discussions.
We were going to just have a FB "LIKE" page and then the more people that joined
asked for a FB Group page, then a Yahoo page, a Wiccaneopagan page, Alabama
Pagan, of course witchvox, Pagan Space.net, Myspace. It keeps me busy and doing
what I love. I didn't tell this as a , "Oh whoa is me." It's my reality. So if I
post "back in the hospital, room blah blah" then I can still be in touch because
of the laptop and Wi-Fi. So far I have been in 53 times this year. But I will
give to this group like I do everything else. Ok, off to rest. Namaste'
