The Lioness

Abundance
Timing          Community

Take
a deep breath and let the spirit of the lioness fill you.

Click here to Listen to the Lioness' Song.

Abundance and power are
yours, for you are the lioness.

With the lioness energy
within you, you will become a great provider, able to go out into the world,
successfully meet the challenges of life and bring home the bounty for yourself
and your loved ones. There is no need to worry about whether you will succeed,
for you are the lioness.

The lioness will bring you
the gift of perfect timing. She will teach you when to lie low and blend with
the surroundings and when to leap out and go after what you desire. Your
intuitive side will strengthen as you develop the skill of sensing what is
around you and knowing exactly when to make your move.

The lioness is also very
strong physically, fast and agile. Breathe in deeply and feel her power within
you, healing you and bringing you physical strength.

And once home, let her teach
you to relax completely, enjoying the company of others, nuzzling and purring as
you build a community of safety and abundance. How blessed you are to be the
lioness!

Quado's Garden: Now is the Portal to Peace

Now is
the Portal to Peace

Today, let the
calm
of the inner world wash over you like a wave on the sea. Let the peace and calm
that is there for you soothe you and cool you, wash over you and bring you into
a state of grace.

You can train yourself to
access peace. You can learn a deep inner peace that will carry forward into
your life, filling you with a well of peace that is there for you to tap into
when you need it during the day.

All that is good in your
life comes from this well of peace. The best choices are made from this place,
the place beneath emotion, the place beneath confusion. You are connected to
all of the wisdom in the world and you are connected through peace. The
emotions keep this knowledge from you. Peace gives you access.

And the way to find peace
is to enter the Now, this moment, right here, right now. This moment is the
portal to a deep peace this is always there, always accessible and always yours.

'May we live in peace without weeping. May our joy outline the lives we touch without ceasing. And may our love fill the world, angel wings tenderly beating.' The Universal Heart Center http://www.freewebs.com/moshayra

Today's Goddess: Nat Buchmesse (Germany)

Today's Goddess: Nat
Buchmesse (Germany)

Themes: Learning; Knowledge; Communication
Symbols: Books; Writing Utensils; Stars

About Nat: A Teutonic Goddess of the night sky, Nat generates artistic
inspiration and knowledge. She refreshes those suffering from creative
blockages and arouses new visions for any endeavor, especially when fall's
declining energies get the best of us. Myths portray Nat as bearing the
silver-studded night sky like a blanket across the dusk. Her chariot bears a
frost mare, alluding to the moon.

To Do Today: Buchmesse is the world's largest book fair for the publishing
industry, featuring exhibitors from over ninety countries and attended by over
two hundred thousand people. In this region of the world, book fairs have been
around for over eight hundred years, making Germany one of the centers of world
literacy.

For writers, today is the perfect time to ask for Nat's blessing on your
efforts. Submit a poem, article, or manuscript to potential publishers. Write
in your journal. Draft a meaningful ritual for improved creativity, and let
Nat's energy guide your hand. Alternatively, read a favorite poem or
book--Nat's power is beneath those words--or make a book donation to the local
library to honor this goddess's contribution to human civilization.

Finally, gather all your pens and pencils in a basket and empower them for all
your writing tasks by saying,
Nat, inspire creativity; when taken to hand, the magic is freed!

Extra Thanksgiving Ritual

Posted by: "Cher Chirichello" CHIC0411@YAHOO.COM chic0411

Sun Oct 17, 2010 7:35 am (PDT)

Extra Thanksgiving Ritual

Consider having an extra Thanks-giving dinner this year, a little earlier than
usual. After all, turkey is available year round, and think of all those
special foods that are too good to only eat once a year: sweet potatoes,
pumpkin pie, cranberry sauce, and so on. You know you want to, so go ahead; and
get started with my stuffing recipe

1 or 2 small onions
2 to 3 stalks of celery
2 tblsps canola oil
1 peeled, cored and finely
chopped apple
2 tblsps powdered sage
2 tsps thyme
Salt and pepper to taste
4 cups of cubed, stale
bread

Chop the onions and stalks of celery, and saute them in the oil. When they are
soft, add the apple. Add the sage, thyme, and salt and pepper to taste, and
saute
a few minutes longer. Add the cubed stale bread, and stuff the whole into a
twelve-pound turkey.

Korean Shaman Song

Posted by: "Cher Chirichello" CHIC0411@YAHOO.COM chic0411

Sun Oct 17, 2010 7:38 am (PDT)

Standing in the mountain rain, I think:
do you love me just of how
green the pear tree sounds?
Or do you love me because
I have made this place sacred,
full of the spirit of eagles?
~Korean Shaman Song

The great psychologist Carl Jung once said that the purpose of humanity is to
help the world become conscious. One of the ways we do this is through
sanctifying the space we occupy. Our homes, our gardens, our workplaces: all
these can become sacred spaces, if we purposefully and carefully arrange them
to do so.

Such wisdom traditions as Chinese feng shui codify the knowledge that we are
sensitive to our surroundings. Cluttered and ugly surroundings take their toll
on us. We are less focused, and far less happy, than we could be. Creating
sacred space means, simply paying attention to the arrangement of our
surroundings, and treating the inanimate occupants with the respect we would
give guests in our home. Even our pots and pans can become sacred tools, if
used with intention and respect. Our world is already sacred; we only need
acknowledge that this is so.

Pagan Living

From Patti Wigington, your Guide to Paganism / Wiccan
Many people in the Pagan and Wiccan communities work with spirits and
otherworldly beings, particularly when Samhain is approaching and the veil is
growing thin. Sometime, you may call upon these beings on purpose -- other
times, they might just drop in unannounced! Today, we'll talk about how to
identify the different types of guides, how to tell if a spirit doesn't really
have your best interests at heart, contacting the spirit world, and how to get
rid of spirits that you don't want hanging around.

Types of Spirit Guides

Many people believe they have spirit guides. Some refer to theirs as angels or
guardians. Regardless, if you believe you have one, a spirit guide is there
simply to guide, not as an entity that you need to give yourself over to. If a
spirit guide has a negative influence on your behavior, then chances are good
that it's not a spirit guide at all, but something else entirely. These are some
of the more commonly found types of spirit guides ... Types of Spirit Guides

How to Hold a Seance

Many Wiccans and Pagans communicate with the spirit world by way of holding
seances. Before you have a seance of your own, there are a few things to keep in
mind. A séance is an event that can either be fantastic, or a real mess. Which
one it is will depend on how much preparation goes into it. With a little bit of
planning and thought ahead of time, you can pave the way for your séance to go
smoothly. Certainly, it's a good idea to expect the unexpected -- after all, the
dead are hardly predictable -- but by setting yourself a few guidelines in
advance, you can make sure that everyone has the best experience possible ...

Getting Rid of Unwanted Entities

Every once in a while, people who work with spirit communications may find
themselves dealing with something that isn't quite what they expected. Perhaps
an entity has come along that isn't the one you thought you were talking to, or
worse yet, maybe something negative has decided to pay a visit. Much like an
uninvited houseguest, sometimes you've just got to send them away ... Getting
Rid of Unwanted Entities

Spirit Guide Warning Signs

Every once in a while, someone will manage to contact what they think is a
spirit guide - perhaps by way of a Ouija board or other method of divination --
and the next thing you know, things are getting weird. If any of the following
scenarios seem familiar, then chances are that what you've connected to is not a
spirit guide at all. Here are the warning signs to watch out for ... Spirit

Days and Nights of Hekate/Hecate

Posted by: "Ash" mhc4sure@yahoo.com   mhc4sure

Sun Oct 17, 2010 8:16 am (PDT)

Source: Lady Abigail

Day's and Nights of Hekate/Hecate Many
of us worship the Goddess, by many names; yet when it comes to the
Goddess of Witchcraft none is better known than our Lady Hekate: Also
know as the Queen of Witches. Samahin is also an night we give honor and
worship unto the Goddess but there are many other days and nights that
are Hers alone. HEKATE (or Hecate) was
the goddess of magick, witchcraft, the night, moon (dark moon), ghosts
and necromancy. She was the only child of the Titanes Perses and Asteria
from whom she received her power over heaven, earth, and sea. She is
also one of the only Goddesses who is allowed to inter into the worlds
of the dead. Hekate is usually depicted in Greek paintings
as a woman holding twin torches. Sometimes she was dressed in a
knee-length maiden's skirt and hunting boots, much like Artemis. In
statuary Hekate was often depicted in triple form as a goddess of
crossroads. There are many day's and moon phases
associated with Hekate. For those that work with and honor Hekate, here
are some of Her days of Honor. Day's of Hekate August 13th
Hekate is honored in Greece, for her storm aspect. Offerings would be
left at the Crossroads ( honey cakes, mushrooms, black dogs) hoping to
appease her so she wouldn't bring crop destroying storms September 6th The
Elusinian Mysteries, beginning with a procession, the festival would
start in Eleusis and end in Athens. Hecate would lead the procession of
initiates into the underworld. September 21<Feast of Divine Life; Maiden, Mother and Crone.(Greece) October 31 Samhain This is the night when the Goddess is honor by both the living and dead November 16th
This is called Hekate's Night. This is the night that she roams the
earth with her hounds. This is also the night that new initiations are
made for Witches who follow her. Hekate's Supper is left out on the
steps of her followers dwellings, usually consisting of honey and
mushrooms. Hecate then blesses those inside. November 30th Day of Hekate at the crossroads. January 8 Midwife's day (Greece) Hekate is the Divine Midwife January 31 Feast
day of Hecate (Greece)Hekate was honored monthly in Rome on
the 29th The moon on this day was referred to as Hakate's Moon.Also
Hekate is often honored during the new moon as well as the full and dark
with rituals and offerings Lady Abigail

When the Moon Turned Red

Posted by: "holly@ravenmadness.com" holly@ravenmadness.com   fshaunt

Sun Oct 17, 2010 8:49 am (PDT)

Last night I had this outstanding vision... I've had a bit of time to
reflect on it and would like to share ...

I was standing outside looking up at the night sky and there was this
spectacular event going on... many people stopped to take notice

There was the moon and around the moon were several smaller moons
circling around it ... just outside the ring of smaller moons where
some sort of space crafts ... 4 of them had come to watch the event
about to take place.

the moon suddenly turned a bright red ... and moments later the moon
went black and left the space before us ... it drifted away to the right
and was gone ...

Another moon took its place... it wasn't the normal moon.... it was
another red moon that took its place and just as the red moon before it
.. it suddenly faded to black and left the space ... again drifting off
to the right until it could no longer be seen...

Looking back at the space where the moon once was .. another red moon
appeared...

I looked around and the world was a mess... chaotic .. the weather was
harsh and yet the people around me acted oblivious to what was going on.

They were dealing with the chaos and weather and yet not understanding
what was really going on...

In this vision I was very pregnant and frantic about trying to get
everyone to understand what was going on ... what was REALLY going on
... I was trying to make them "SEE". But it was as if no one
understood... and they really didn't care... sure they cared about what
was happening to themselves but not about what was happening to the
world.

Our whole world was in jeapordy .... not just their own little worlds...
but the entire planet.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The creator can give us the most amazing, dramatic signs ... he can
place them right there in front of us... just above our heads and until
we open our eyes to truly see whats going on ... it will be noticed but
UNSEEN
You know... you need to care about more than just your own private
space...
What exactly are you leaving behind for your children, your
grandchildren, your great grandchildren.... Have you made your world a
better place?
Placing a larger house on it doesn't necessarily make it better ... a
new place to shop doesn't make it better, more roads doesn't make it
better
How about clean air, fresh water? Just to name a couple of things...
very important things....
Many Blessings,
Raventalker
'Twas the Night Before Samhain'
I wrote this a few years back for the children in our Coven and
found that the grown ups enjoyed it as much as they did ... I hope
everyone enjoys my rendition of; 'Twas the Night Before Samhain'  'Twas the Night Before Samhain'
  Twas' the night of Samhain and all thought the house,Every creature was stirring, yes even that mouse; The jack o'lanterns were hung about with great care,In hopes the fall fairies soon would be there; The children were dressed in their spookiest wear,For in search of sweet treats on Samhain tis fair; It's All Hallow's night, so I leaped from my bed,With thoughts of enchantment running through my head; When across the moons face a wonder I'd spy,A Witch on her broom stick up in the sky; The moon shining on the autumn leaves as they fall,Gives a feelings of spirits leering within the trees so tall; When what to my wondering eyes should appear,But Witches and Wizards coming ever more near; So I grab my boots and my black cloak quick,I know in a moment this house they will pick; More rapid than bats around a grave they came,They whistled, and shouted, and called me by name; To the top of the porch! to the top of the wall!To the house they
did come for a Samhain ball! As dry leaves that before the wild hurricane fly,We danced and played underneath the dark sky; Let us gather as friends, carve the pumpkin set near,This old Haunted House shall give nobody fear; I was dressed all black, from my head to my foot,No tarnish on these clothes no ashes or soot; Our eyes how they twinkled! Our hearts filled with delight!As we called forth spirits on this Samhain night! When we had finished our magickal spell,Around the cauldron some stories of monsters we'd tell; But soon as with time, it will rush quickly by,Our party was ending and home the witches did fly. But I heard them exclaim, ere they flew out of sight,"Samhain blessing to all and to all a good night." Lady AbigailCopyright © 10082003
no the paid are just as open to it, mine is a paid one - its a
backdoor into the address book somewhere that makes it happen, if you
pay and use a reader to view your mail offline - delete the address book
stored on the yahoo site and voila - no more problem. As for those who
read it on the web.. I have no idea I changed the password on one of my
alternates and that seemed to make it stop for now!
priest of Wiccan covens perform a sacred ritual called Drawing Down the Sun.
Today's Goddess:   Perimbo Festival of Lights (Brazil)
Posted by: "Cher Chirichello" CHIC0411@YAHOO.COM   chic0411
Sun Oct 17, 2010 8:33 pm (PDT)
Today's Goddess: Perimbo
Festival of Lights (Brazil)
Themes: Forgiveness; Religious Devotion; Banishing; Justice; Karma
Symbols: Light; Lunar Emblems
About Perimbo: This Brazilian Goddess is the creatrix of all things. From her
home in the moon, Perimbo gently guides human life in benevolent ways.
Balancing this kindness, she is also a Goddess of Justice, meting out karmic
punishment to teach important lessons when necessary.
To Do Today: During mid-October, the city of Belem in Brazil holds a parade in
which people go barefoot, carrying weights and lights to banish evil, sin, and
negativity from their lives. To adapt this in a simple way and draw Perimbo's
benevolence into your living space, take a flashlight, candle, or long-stemmed
match clockwise around your house, saying, "Perimbo, shine the light of
fairness and devotion throughout my home."
Try to make sure the light reaches as many nooks and crannies as possible,
symbolically banishing the shadows that hide there.
For a portable Perimbo charm to inspire equity in all your dealings, find a
glow-in-the-dark image of the moon. Charge it up for several hours using
sunlight or the flashlight from the previous spell, saying instead, "Perimbo,
shine the light of fairness and devotion throughout my life."
Carry this in your pocket to radiate the Goddess's power no matter where you may
be!)0(
Gratitude Spell
Sun Oct 17, 2010 8:37 pm (PDT)
Gratitude Spell
The Shinto religion celebrates a tasting ceremony today, whereby they honor
their gods and offer them gifts of food from their recent harvest. Today you
might consider what you have harvested in the past year. For this spell adorn
your altar with harvest colors of orange and gold. Place upon the altar items
that represent the work you have accomplished this year. This can take the form
of annual reports, poems you've written, report cards, reviews, items that
you've made, and so on. Light a new orange candle, and give thanks to the
Goddess for all you've done. Be proud of your accomplishments, and grateful for
the health, the time, and all the other conditions that enabled you to complete
your work.
Sri Lankan Hymn To The Goddess Pattini
Posted by: "Cher Chirichello" CHIC0411@YAHOO.COM   chic0411
Sun Oct 17, 2010 8:39 pm (PDT)
The body of the Goddess shines
as blue and gold as the earth.
The clothing of the Goddess shines
as white as a half-moon.
When we look at her body
we see a table, full of food.
When we look at her body,
love flashes through our minds.
O Goddess of fiery cascades,
holding your anklet of flame,
dance with us today.
Honor us with your presence.
~Sri Lankan Hymn To The Goddess Pattini
Goddesses - or Goddess-like beings - have appeared in every culture, in every
era, on every continent. Most books on the Goddess, however, introduce only a
few figures, usually those from the Greco-Roman pantheon. Aphrodite, Artemis,
Hera, and the rest are indeed vibrant and complex images of femininity. But
there are many Goddesses of equally compellingpower who are less often discussed
in contemporary works on the subject.
Patinni is one of them. The Great Goddess of Sri Lanka, she is honored in the
greatest literary epic of that culture, the Lay of the Silver Anklet. Rich
ceremonies honor her, and magnificent songs are composed in her honor. She is
only one of the hundreds of important Goddesses who deserve the attention of
those interested in feminine images of the Divine.
