Hahahahaha I got a new idea for a new project I want to try out ...
involves things in miniature and so last night I tried my hand at making
wittle bitty Native American Prayer Feather Fans ... I made 3 - check
out the photobucket link below to see how they turned out ... they are
so cute! Thats a penny laying next to them in the pics .. they are
approx 2 inches in length

Five years ago, one of the two co-founders of the Almanac (Elizabeth Pepper) passed over. This year saw the passing of the remaining co-founder (Barbara Stacy). Thus an era has come to an end, but the tradition of providing an excellent annual publication (as well as occasional other offerings and an excellent website) shows no sign of being in danger of going away.
The Almanac began publishing in 1971 (and endured a hiatus for ten years) and has steadily evolved through the years. The quality of writing has always been high, and continues in that vein. Whereas the emphasis in the beginning was more Euro-centric, but has since come to be truly world-wide. This year's offerings include Oriental, African, Mideastern, and American focused articles, as well as interviews and memories of individuals on both sides of the Atlantic.
The front cover says it all: "Being a compendium of ancient lore and legend – the indispensable guide and delightful companion for adept, occultist, witch and mortal alike...contains herbal secrets, advice about animals, mystic incantations, sacred rituals and many a tale of good and evil." "Ever a keepsake." That last statement is, in my opinion, a serious UNDERstatement. These annuals are more than a keepsake, they are invaluable references, and should be kept close at hand.
Each month's calendar includes some little snippets of information as well as occasional instructions, such as "Make a wish for love," or "Fashion a healing charm." Between the calendars are articles, poetry, and wonderful illustrations. Yet these are merely the tip of the iceberg. Even if you never look at the "Presage" section (astrological predictions for the upcoming year in the areas of Health, Love, Spirituality, and Finance) – but you really should – the Almanac is so full of interesting tidbits that you will never tire of it.
Of course, there are listings of Solar and Lunar eclipses (Three solar and two lunar this time around), Mercury retrogrades (four this cycle), and in this year's offering, a Mars retrograde. This type of information is easily available, even on line, so it really is the least interesting aspect of the Almanac. It is the articles and the writers who make this annual offering what it is, a wonderful gift (and don't you deserve the best?), a handy source of inspiration, and surprises waiting to be encountered.
You don't need to be an initiate, a master adept, or even particularly well-versed in occultism to enjoy, and benefit from, this well-produced offering. If you have never purchased a copy before, you don't know what you are missing (but you can order back issues and find out).

He's a trip and a half, he's a 8 pound bear cub trapped in a cat's body I
swear, and mischevious, and rotten and funny and sweet and loving and the
first to give lovies if anyone is upset or hurt... I don't like him at
all though :) can you tell :)))))

On Friday a old friend came by and said he would get me a ticket to Phonix
Arizona. On Saturday I went to the library and hid 3 of my bags. I went in and
got online. I left the library when done and found the bags gone! Been using
the same hiding spot for over a month! I lost all my clothing! Sunday I came
back and found 2 pillows I had in the bags on the ground. I also found my towel
and a t-shirt. The rest of the stuff is gone! I now have 2 changes of
clothing. Unable to get the luggage replaced for I have to carry a big plastic
bag containing my pillows and bedding and a coat. My old friend did not take
the bags though. I feel it was a city of Houston employee that took my stuff!
Oh, the friend did not show up with the ticket yet. I feel he got word of my
bags being stolen and put it off for a bit. I think he is trying to help me in
that area also! I am working with Search still in trying to get out of town! I
will go there tomorrow at 2505 Fannin st at 2 am. Ed

Subject: [Earthwise] Merry Meet Everyone!
Hi,
My name is Cathy and I joined this group yesterday in hope of connecting with
others here in the eastern part of Virginia. I'm hoping this is an active group
and communication is free flowing.
I've been a seeker of truth all my life and when I began researching my
geneology in the mid 80's I found Native American heritage from my mothers' side
of the family. Researching this I found I had many earth based beliefs within me
that did not come from my Baptist upbringing. I also began "remembering" things
I had no way of knowing. Around this time I joined a drumming group that met
every full moon and in time I came to realize I have walked this earth under
many names in many lifetimes.
As a child I had questions none of the ministers or elders were able to answer
to my satisfaction. This was a good thing, it made me dig deeper for answers. It
also made me realize I must "always consider the source". And ultimately, that
all the answers I was seeking were within me.
That being said, I have been on the pagan path for most of this lifetime, and
have been an active solitary witch for over 23 yrs. At one time I was part of a
sisterhood in Newport News but then life took our members in different
directions. Several of us are still in contact but distance prevents us from
gathering together anymore. I miss the energy of my sisters within the circle
under a full moon. But all is in perfect love & perfect order I trust.
Looking forward to getting to know others on this path.
