Let me answer the questions that have been wandering through your head..
How is it I come up with the things I have said?

How do you see what you see?
With the inner eyes that Spirit has given me.

How do you hear what can't be heard?
I quiet the noise and say not a word.

How does Spirit sound?
Like the wind, the rain, the sun, the moon and the ground.

How do you know these things are true?
I have faith, the question is, why don't you?

What's the key to help me see more?
Our mind is like a hallway of many doors...

No locks, even though closed they may be
Just reach out and turn the knob - that's the key!

Open them wide and release your fear
Soon, you'll see and even hear

Empty your heart of all anger and distrust
To walk this way, it is a must!

Let go, stop trying to control

Let yourself be guided, taken by the hand
Soon you'll be floating with Spirit across the land

Visions will fill the eyes you didn't know were there
It's not a secret... everyone has two pair!

Forget what you thought you knew
Just let it come to you.

And now with a smile and a wink, you know what to do
Blessings for the beginning of a whole new view!

Many Blessings,
Raventalker

I agree with a lot of her fiscal points, that does not mean I think she was
the best choice though but really not a Castle fan either ... 2 lousy
choices in the primary there.. makes me glad I don't live in Delaware
anymore.

The guy running for Rep here Rob Woodall,,, pretty darn cute.. means nothing
but eye candy though if I didn't think he was the best choice.

Fw: DailyOM: Shifting the Mood

Posted by: "Cher Chirichello" CHIC0411@YAHOO.COM   chic0411

Wed Oct 20, 2010 6:11 pm (PDT)

DailyOM - Attitude Follows Perspective
Today's DailyOM brought to you by:

October 20, 2010
Shifting the Mood
Attitude Follows Perspective
When we feel supported, it is easier to open our heart and minds when needing to
look at a situation differently.

We all have days when we are faced with chores, errands, or responsibilities
that we don't want to do. At times like these, it's easy to get into a bad mood
and stay in one as we tackle these tasks. However, given the fact that our bad
mood will not change the fact that we have to do these things, and will most
likely make things worse, we could also try to shift our attitude. Many wise
people have pointed out that it is not so much what we do as it is how we do it
that makes the difference in our lives.

It's important when we're facing something that's really hard for us, whether
it's doing taxes, paying bills, or visiting a challenging relative, that we
lovingly support ourselves through the process. The more supported we feel, the
easier it is to open our minds to the idea that we could change our way of
looking at the situation. In truth, most of the chores we don't like doing are
intimately intertwined with our blessings. When we remember this, we feel
gratitude, which makes it hard to stay in a dark mood.

We can shift our attitude by considering how much we love our home as we clean
it and how lucky we are to have a roof over our head. Any task can be
transformed from a burden to a necessary aspect of caring for something we love.
All we have to do is shift our perspective, and our attitude follows shortly
behind.

SEASONS CHANGE

Posted by: "Cher Chirichello" CHIC0411@YAHOO.COM   chic0411

Wed Oct 20, 2010 8:32 pm (PDT)

SEASONS CHANGE

As the seasons change, so does the artist's palette.
The scorching heat of summer and the pastel hues,
Give way to the jewel colors of dark reds
Hunter greens, and leaves that are turning bright.

Let us walk through the woods and admire
All of nature's beauty waiting for us;
If we are quiet, perhaps we will see deer feeding,
And smaller animals scurrying about.

All too soon the weather grows chill and snowy,
Dark colors worn, parkas, jackets, caps and gloves.
Skiing, sleighs and snow men in the front lawn;
Packages for Christmas arriving in the mail.

After the thaw, the spring peeks out in budding plants,
Flowers start to bloom and milder weather comes.
Spring is the time for lovers, it is said.
Come love, let's prove them right! Give me a kiss.

Today's Goddess: Meme Misisi Beer Festival (Uganda)

Posted by: "Cher Chirichello" CHIC0411@YAHOO.COM   chic0411

Wed Oct 20, 2010 8:33 pm (PDT)

Today's Goddess: Meme
Misisi Beer Festival (Uganda)

Themes: Ghosts; Joy; Health; Offerings; Longevity; Harvest
Symbols: Beer; Corn

About Meme: The Ugandan creatrix of life. Meme was also the first woman of the
region. In her human form she taught shamans the art of healing, and she
continues to be called upon to aid in all matters of health and well-being.

To Do Today: This festival takes place right after the miller harvest with a
plethora of beer, maize, plantain, bullock, and chicken. Any of these foods
can be added to your diet today in thankfulness for Meme's providence.

Follow Ugandan custom and join with your family or friends. The eldest member
of the gathering, should pour a libation to the ground in Meme's name and then
offer the rest to those gathered. This mini-ritual ensures long life and unity
for everyone. It also ensures a good harvest the next year (of a literal or
figurative nature).

To inspire Meme's health or request her aid in overcoming a specific fall
malady, carry a corn kernel with you today, and consume corn during your dinner
meal. Bless the corn beforehand to ingest this Goddess's
vitality. Alternatively, take a small bowl of beer and place a finger into
it. Channel your negativity and illness into the beer (visualize this as dark,
muddy water leaving your body), then pour it out to disperse that negative
energy and give it into the Goddess's care. )0( By Patricia Telesco ~ From "365

HAZEL NUTS

Posted by: "Cher Chirichello" CHIC0411@YAHOO.COM   chic0411

Wed Oct 20, 2010 8:34 pm (PDT)

HAZEL NUTS

Hazel nuts were also believed to possess mystical powers and could be used in
divining. The nut is believed to be at its
strongest on Halloween night, which was traditionally called 'Nutcrack Night' in
England (UK). Lovers were recommended to use
this to gain foresight into the relationship.

'Two hazel nuts I threw into the flame,
And to each nut I gave a sweetheart's name.
This, with the loudest bounce me sore amazed,
That, with a flame of brightest colour blazed.
As blazed the nut, so may thy passion grow,
For 'twas thy nut that did so brightly glow.'
~Gray

'Some merry, friendly, countra folks
Together did convene,
To burn their nits, an' pu their stocks,
An' haud their Halloween
Fu' blithe that night.'

Wed Oct 20, 2010 8:34 pm (PDT)

Daily Aromatherapy - Frankincense Bath Kisses
You can make these now and freeze them for your holiday gifts.

These lusciously scented "kisses" are a bathtime luxury. Melt one ounce cocoa
butter and 2/3 ounce shea butter(available in most health
food stores) in a microwave, then add 1/3 ounce sweet almond oil and 1/8
teaspoon each frankincense and sweet orange essential oils. Pour
into small candy molds and place in the freezer for 20 minutes. Remove from
molds. Place one or two 'kisses' into hot bath water.
Store the rest in a ziplock bag in the freezer.

APPLE DIVINATION

Posted by: "Cher Chirichello" CHIC0411@YAHOO.COM   chic0411

Wed Oct 20, 2010 8:35 pm (PDT)

APPLE DIVINATION

* If a girls peels an apple in one long piece at midnight on Halloween, and
then tosses the peel over her left shoulder or into a bowl of water, she will
be able to read the first initial of her future partner's name in the shape
assumed by the discarded peel.

* If a girl peels an apple at midnight on Halloween and hangs the peel on a
nail by the front door, the initials of the first man to enter will be the same
as those of her unknown lover.

* If a group of unmarried boys and girls each attach an apple to a string and
twirl the apple over a fire, the order in which the apples fall off the string
indicates the order in which they will all be married. The owner of the last
apple to drop will remain unmarried.

* In a group of unmarried boys and girls, each person marks an apple and places
it in a large bucket of water, along with unmarked apples. Without using their
hands, the teens attempt to take bites out of the apples floating in the water.
The teen is fated to marry the person whose apple they bite. Another variation
of this custom consists of hanging the apples from strings tied to a tree.

Sri Lankan Songs To The Goddess

Posted by: "Cher Chirichello" CHIC0411@YAHOO.COM   chic0411

Wed Oct 20, 2010 8:37 pm (PDT)

There is much the Goddess saves us from: fever,
wounds and madness, coughs and colds,
plagues and smallpox, measles and sore throats,
all these she wipes away with a brush of her shawl.
There is more: wasps and little bees that nest in your house,
mushrooms which spring up in your cellar,
rats and snakes and hornets that infest your walls,
all these she wipes away with just a brush of her shawl.
~Sri Lankan Songs To The Goddess

Every day, we face the multiple irritations of life. Machines break down,
schedules are broken, people are unreliable. There are periods of greater and
of lesser frustration, but the fact of human life is that nothing ever runs
perfectly. Learning to live in an imperfect world is a continual spiritual
challenge. Like the Sri Lankan house-holder who created the vivid prayer to the
Goddess above, we must constantly struggle against the diseases and disorders
that are part of life.

It is useless to live in a fantasy of total order and total control. Life isn't
like that. Life is hornets and little bees and sore throats. It is also
splendid fall days with bright blue skies and vivid foliage. The Goddess, who
is earth and its life, embraces all of these experiences and more. In accepting
her, we cease to struggle against the inevitability of disorder - and we live
more gracefully and happily within it.
