Why not get a jump on the Fourth coming fireworks and douse yourself (and a candle) in a little oil that promises to make you explode with undeniable appeal and outrageous attractiveness? And what better time than the start of summer to be so hot, hot, hot? First, let's talk about the candle. Blend together three drops of pure lavender essential oil with three drops of orange essential oil and one of lemon oil. 'Dress' or anoint a pink candle with this oil before lighting it and then let it burn all the way down. Fan the flames with your desire that others will desire you. Anytime after this candle has burnt out you can add that same mix to a quarter cup of jojoba, grapeseed or even olive oil, and then massage the blend onto your skin after a bath. Or you can leave the carrier oil out and simply wear the three oil combo as a perfume or cologne of sorts. Either way, be prepared to be on fire! And then work it! How apropos -- fire and works! You go!

Reflections of Self
We Are All Mirrors for Each Other
When we look at other people, we see many of their qualities in innumerable and seemingly random combinations. However, the qualities that we see in the people around us are directly related to the traits that exist in us. “Like attracts like†is one of the spiritual laws of the universe. We attract individuals into our lives that mirror who we are. Those you feel drawn to reflect your inner self back at you, and you act as a mirror for them. Simply put, when you look at others, you will likely see what exists in you. When you see beauty, divinity, sweetness, or light in the soul of another, you are seeing the goodness that resides in your soul. When you see traits in others that evoke feelings of anger, annoyance, or hatred, you may be seeing reflected back at you those parts of yourself that you have disowned or do not like.
Because we are all mirrors for each other, looking at the people in your life can tell you a lot about yourself. Who you are can be laid bare to you through what you see in others. It is easy to see the traits you do not like in others. It is much more difficult to realize that you possess those same traits. Often, the habits, attitudes, and behaviors of others are closely linked to our unconscious and unresolved issues.
When you come into contact with someone you admire, search your soul for similarly admirable traits. Likewise, when you meet someone exhibiting traits that you dislike, accept that you are looking at your reflection. Looking at yourself through your perception of others can be a humbling and eye-opening experience. You can also cultivate in you the traits and behaviors that you do like. Be loving and respectful to all people, and you will attract individuals that will love and respect you back. Nurture compassion and empathy and let the goodness you see in others be your mirror.

Americans United Lawsuit Challenges Sectarian Prayers At Delaware County Council Meetings
President-Led Recitation Of The Lord’s Prayer Shows Unconstitutional Preference For One Faith, Watchdog Group Charges
June 30, 2011
A Delaware county council’s insistence on opening meetings with Christian prayer violates the U.S. Constitution and sends the message that non-Christians are second-class citizens, according to a lawsuit filed today in federal court by Americans United for Separation of Church and State.
Americans United, a Washington, D.C.-based watchdog group, is challenging the Sussex County Council’s long-standing practice of opening each of its meetings with a recitation of the Protestant version of the Lord’s Prayer, led by Council President Michael H. Vincent.
“The council was elected to represent all of the county’s citizens, Christian or otherwise,†said Ayesha N. Khan, Americans United legal director. “By persistently sponsoring this Christian prayer, the county council has publicly aligned itself with a single faith.
“We have nothing against prayer,†Khan continued. “But the Constitution does not give government officials the right to favor one religion over others.â€

The Craft Name
In many cultures, people were not named until adulthood. As numerology is used to discover the powers of names, names hold a power all their own. They serve as a psychic and psychological trigger. In many cultures, children were given a "false name" to protect them from bad spirits until one was chosen for them in adulthood. In other societies the mother would be the only person who would know the child's real name. This all comes from the concept that a person's true name has power, and knowing that name can give others and bad spirits power over them. Names also are our prime identification with the world.
Magickal names are quite popular among the Pagan community. So popular, in fact, that many Pagans have two or even three such names: a public Craft name, a secret name, and perhaps even a third name which is used only when addressing the Goddess and the God, and more than one tradition may have different names for each group. For many, taking a new name is an outward symbol of her or his devotion. It's seen as a part of the process of rebirth into the religion.
So how do I go about finding a magickal name?
Not everyone within the Craft takes on an additional name. It's personal preference and generally tied to the Tradition that the individual practices. The name one chooses should not be adopted lightly. Even the Public Name may become something you are associated with years to come,so make sure the name fits when you take it as your own.
Generally speaking, there are several techniques or methods one can use to select a Craft name. It is not uncommon to adopt the name of a patron God or Goddess, or a significant totem animal. The name may also reflect some personal talents, skills or hobbies, or it may be derived from a historical or ancestral relationship. Numerology is used by many practitioners to develop Craft names, reducing the numeric equivalent of the given name to it's simplest form, then selecting a magickal name fitting that character count. Regardless of the method used, it is generally followed by a period of meditation in order to be satisfied the new name is indeed suitable and appropriate.
It is also possible to obtains one's name through a ritual setting such as the one listed below. I would light candles of your favorite
color, place your favorite flowers upon the altar as an offering to
the Gods, burn your favorite incense, write your given name in cursive upon a piece of parchment - or regular paper if you don't have parchment--have the chalice filled with you very favorite beverage, whatever it may be-- coffee, blackberry herbal tea, mead, water, sprite - whatever you like best. Play your favorite music and wear your favorite jewelry and garments.
Having personal items on an altar will assist in find a magickal name
that is *perfectly* suited just for you. All your favorite things are a part of whom you are at this time in your life and help give this naming rite that added connection to your inner self, which is needed if you are going to find your Craft name.
Pray to your patron God and Goddess, tell them of your intent. Ask Them for Their help in discovering your name. Watch your breathing. Take the parchment with your name in cursive and light it from one of the many candles of your favorite color that's sitting on the altar.
Place it on your pentacle dish or a saucer or in a cauldron [somewhere it can burn safely] and watch the smoke rise up to the Gods, carrying with it secrets of your personality. Then close your eyes, and focus on that point just between your eyes, looking for symbols or images to appear, colors, animals whatever reveals itself to you. Also be listening for voices in your head or actual voices you can hear with your ears, whispering your new name.
If you don't receive a response after an hour, thank the Gods and ask Them if They would send you a message or sign in your dreams this night. Don't worry if you don't meet with immediate success, it just takes awhile to get the hang of it. Often times the biggest cause of failure is because the person wouldn't or couldn't *relax*.
Using a craft name may not give you any additional power but it will
become your personal link to the Craft and to the deities. Your name will, to a great extent, define you as a witch and as a practitioner of our Craft of the Wise.

Witch Blood anointing oil
1/4 oz. artemesia (wormwood)
1/4 oz. valerian root
1/4 oz. vervain
1/4 oz. madder root
1/2 oz. English mandrake root (white bryony)
1 pint olive oil
9 drops oakmoss oil
7 drops elder oil
10 drops pine oil
5 drops chamomile oil
pinch sugar or sweet sap
pinch rock salt
Ghost powder
This simple powder will avert ghosts and spirits when it is placed in their
path. It is best made while the moon is waning.
Ingredients: (one part each)
Dried rosemary leaves, ground to a powder
Sea salt
Garlic powder
BRANDY SALVE
Use for dry, irritated skin, and well as old skin wounds to prevent scarring. This Salve is especially helpful for pock marks left behind from Chicken Pox. NOTE: If you use this for Chicken Pox, wait until the blisters have dried.
100% pure cocoa butter
brandy
Heat cocoa butter in microwave until melted, add a touch of brandy and mix until creamy. Note: only make
enough for one application.
HANGOVER FIX
These are the best for repairing the damage done by drinking a little too much and spending hours in a
smoke-filled room
Step One: Headache
- Take 1-2 feverfew pills (they can be found in any herb or health food store) depending on your drug tolerance. If
you want, start out with 1 pill and if you still have a headache one hour later take another.
Step 2: Helps liver and upset stomach
- Fill a tea ball with dried dandelion leaves and set aside
- Bring 2 cups of water to boil
- Turn off heat (if using an electric stove be sure to take the water off the burner)
- Add tea ball
- Add 1 peppermint tea bag
- Let steep for 3-5 minutes
- Drink both cups
Note: If your throat is sore you may add honey and lemon
Step 3: Helps the body repair damage from cigarette smoke
- Bring one cup of water to boil
- Turn off heat
- Add one bag of Ceylon green tea
Green tea is known to be a mild stimulant as well as a powerful anti-oxidant
Alternate steps 2 and 3 through out the day. Be sure to keep food intake to a minimum and keep it restricted to fresh fruit until dinner time. This will allow your body to quickly heal itself. You will begin to feel better from the first cup of tea.
